    Rosewood Mansion on Turtle Creek
    Dallas, TX
#1 in Best Hotels in Oak Lawn, Dallas – Fort Worth
TripAdvisor Traveler Rating 4.5 based on 833 reviewsTripAdvisor (833)
    Free WiFi

Rosewood Hotels & Resorts' flagship property sits north of the vibrant Dallas Arts District, providing the tranquility needed for a good night's sleep alongside the convenience of a relatively central location. Oil heiress Caroline Rose Hunt turned this mansion of a former cotton mogul into a hotel in 1981. Now, the property envelopes guests in elegant decor, with guest rooms sporting French doors opening up onto private balconies. (Meanwhile, the RoseBuds for Children program will ensure that your little one has everything he or she needs for a peaceful night, including kid-friendly bath products and a crib, if necessary.) When you're not admiring your digs, take advantage of the hotel's temperature-controlled outdoor pool and deck or head to one of the nearby parks for a little fresh air. And to satisfy your taste buds, executive chef Sebastien Archambault cooks up new American cuisine with French influences at The Mansion Restaurant. This five-star hotel gets rave reviews, with many recent guests saying the staff go above and beyond to anticipate guests needs. However, there are still some naysayers who – despite the hotel's recent renovations – claim there's room for design improvements.

    The Ritz-Carlton, Dallas
    Dallas, TX
#2 in Best Hotels in Oak Lawn, Dallas – Fort Worth
TripAdvisor Traveler Rating 4.5 based on 945 reviewsTripAdvisor (945)

Located near the Museum of Art, the Dallas edition of the luxurious Ritz-Carlton brand goes beyond just offering many of the amenities you'd expect from a five-star hotel. For instance, this hotel boasts not just a pool, but a saline-treated rooftop pool; and not just facials and massages, but a 12,000-square-foot spa. But guests say that the rooms alone are worth The Ritz-Carlton, Dallas' high price tag. Spacious and elegant, these high-end digs come equipped with 400-thread-count linens and iPod docking stations, not to mention HD televisions and fully stocked minibars. If peanuts and cookies won't tide you over, make reservations at Fearing's Restaurant; previous visitors said that the eatery deserves its numerous accolades thanks to its gourmet American cuisine. But while most recent guests were satisified, a few say the service wasn't up to par for a Ritz property. Because of The Ritz-Carlton's affiliation with Marriott, member's of the company's loyalty program can trade in their rewards points for extra perks.

The Hotel Crescent Court provides an eclectic setting in the heart of Dallas' trendy Uptown district. Guests love the Hotel Crescent Court's opulence, though travelers feel that the property would benefit from some renovation efforts. Everything at this central Dallas property – from the paintings on the walls to the guest rooms – feels oversized. W Dallas - Victory
    Dallas, TX
#5 in Best Hotels in Oak Lawn, Dallas – Fort Worth
TripAdvisor Traveler Rating 4 based on 1088 reviewsTripAdvisor (1088)

Dallas isn't all about Wild West round-ups and cowboy couture; for those of you looking to add a little cosmopolitan funk to your Texas getaway, consider hanging your hat at the W Dallas - Victory. Located a few blocks north of the historic district – near the Sixth Floor Museum and a block away from the AmericanAirlines Center – this hotel offers luxurious digs without sacrificing convenience. Following a $4 million renovation, the newly restyled guest rooms at this W hotel feature 32-inch LCD TVs, massive bathrooms (with rainfall showers), pillow-top mattresses and cozy linens. The rooftop infinity pool consistently earns high praise: Visitors rave about the spectacular views and the poolside food and beverage service. When you're craving more than snacks, head to Cook Hall for a contemporary take on classic pub food or The Living Room for light fare. Recent guests do warn that the lounge can be crowded and loud at night, and the noise can creep up into guest rooms. Le Méridien Dallas, The Stoneleigh
    Dallas, TX
#6 in Best Hotels in Oak Lawn, Dallas – Fort Worth
TripAdvisor Traveler Rating 4 based on 558 reviewsTripAdvisor (558)

More of a Dallas institution than a hotel, this 1920s Le Méridien gem just west of downtown is art deco in all the right places. Guest rooms are more toned down, with bright red and gray decor; meanwhile, common spaces like Graze Restaurant and its adjoining bar are more gung-ho about the early 20th-century theme, with red velvet and crystals playing lead roles in the design. Although its inspiration may be old-fashioned, Le Méridien Dallas, The Stoneleigh is up to date on its amenities: 42-inch flat-screen TVs, iPod docking stations and minibars along with a full-service spa can be found on the property. While recent guests appreciated the boutique feel and the recently renovated lobby, some say it's time for the rooms to receive a facelift. On a better note, because this hotel is part of the Marriott hotel family, Marriott Bonvoy members can earn and use points here.

    Warwick Melrose Hotel, Dallas
    Dallas, TX
#7 in Best Hotels in Oak Lawn, Dallas – Fort Worth
TripAdvisor Traveler Rating 4.5 based on 1215 reviewsTripAdvisor (1215)

If you're looking to sample traditional Texan luxury, consider a night or two at the Warwick Melrose Hotel. Sitting about 2 miles north of the Dallas Arts District, this stunning property was constructed in 1924 and has since catered to such notables as Elizabeth Taylor, Luciano Pavarotti and Arthur Miller. It's easy to see why the rich and famous choose to stay here: Though it lacks a pool (a sore point for some guests), the hotel is decked out in Old World decor, and the Landmark Restaurant is a favorite among guests and critics alike. While some recent travelers observed a need for an update in the decor, the traditional king rooms are still fitted with amenities like plush bathrobes and 37-inch TVs. The presidential suite covers 1,500 square feet and boasts a crystal chandelier and a garden tub. Recent visitors also warn about the street noise at night – for a more peaceful slumber, make sure to reserve a room facing away from Oak Lawn Avenue.
