    The Ritz-Carlton, Fort Lauderdale
    Fort Lauderdale, FL
#1 in Best Hotels in Fort Lauderdale
TripAdvisor Traveler Rating 4.5 based on 1895 reviewsTripAdvisor (1895)

The Ritz-Carlton, Fort Lauderdale does not disappoint. The hotel's modern decor is accented with art deco touches, the lobby is crafted out of gorgeous marble, and private balconies adjoin all guest rooms and suites. Along with the ocean or Intracoastal Waterway views, rooms also boast leather furniture, flat-screen TVs and spacious marble bathrooms. Some travelers recommend requesting rooms with ocean vistas, as Intracoastal Waterway-facing rooms are situated next to a building with air conditioning units that can be loud and unsightly. Guests can't quite determine what they like most about this hotel, praising the Ritz's posh perks like a fitness center that overlooks the Intracoastal Waterway, an 8,500-square-foot spa and a heated infinity pool with poolside service. But there are two points all reviewers seem to agree on: Both the beachfront Fort Lauderdale location and the outstanding service receive high marks across the board. However, keep in mind that all guests are charged a daily $40 resort fee. Plus, Marriott Bonvoy members can earn and use points by staying here.

Located right on Fort Lauderdale's beach, the lemon-yellow (oddly shaped) Atlantic Hotel & Spa is all about the views. Along with balconies facing the ocean or city, another guest favorite is the kitchenette – stocked with a minifridge, a two-burner stove and a microwave – that comes with each room. In addition to the well-equipped accommodations, recent guests also praise the hotel's efficient and amicable staff. After visitors get their fill of staring at miles of sand and surf (if that's even possible), they can seek rejuvenation at the property's 24-hour fitness center and spa or take a dip in the waterfront pool. Or, guests can simply soak up the sun at the beach, which is merely steps away. However, be prepared to pay. Daily parking fees at this Preferred Lifestyle outpost are steep, but most guests say the location is completely worth the splurge. To cut costs, iPrefer loyalty program members can use points while staying here.

Guests suggest splurging on an oceanfront suite to enjoy the breathtaking views. Meanwhile, the resort's private stretch of shoreline is popular for its chaise lounges and hammocks, as well as its activities available to children. After a long day spent in the sand and the sun, refresh your skin with a treatment at the on-site spa. And when you start to feel peckish, grab a bite at one of the four on-site dining options. Cruisers stand to benefit from this resort's location, being less than 3 miles from Port Everglades and 7 miles from Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport. Located about a mile north of the Fort Lauderdale Beach strip along the Atlantic Ocean, the Pelican Grand Beach Resort, A Noble House Resort has quietly removed itself from the cruise ship hubbub to craft a more peaceful, Victorian-esque ambiance. Amenities like the wraparound veranda – decked out with classic rocking chairs – and the old-fashioned ice cream parlor are hits with guests. This member of the Noble House hotel group gets high praise for its family-friendliness too; the little ones are sure to love the lazy river, pool and beach, as well as the Funky Fish Ocean Camp (charges apply). As for dining, head to OCEAN2000 for seafood and steaks with a side of ocean views. The Hilton Fort Lauderdale Beach Resort is, as its name suggests, sits alongside Fort Lauderdale's beach – so gorgeous ocean views abound. But that's not the only reason people like staying here. This Hilton outpost is praised for its spectacular customer service and comfortable accommodations, which manage to remain peaceful despite its central location along the bustling promenade. Suites get high marks for their spaciousness, as well as the excellent views of the Atlantic Ocean and the Fort Lauderdale skyline. While staying here, guests have access to the Hilton Fort Lauderdale Beach Resort's three in-house restaurants and spa. Travelers can opt for a treatment outdoors, then mozy on over to S3's trendy outdoor patio for specialty sushi rolls or the adults-only BalQony lounge for chic poolside bites and cocktails. Typical amenities are covered by the $35 daily resort fee, which some recent guests took issue with. And thanks to the resort's brand ties, Hilton Honors members can enjoy perks and privileges or collect points when staying here.

    W Fort Lauderdale

#6 in Best Hotels in Fort Lauderdale
TripAdvisor Traveler Rating 4 based on 545 reviewsTripAdvisor (545)

From its glass-bottom view of the outdoor pool to the funky DJs who spin tunes at said pool, this W likes to throw visitors an über-hip curve-ball. So needless to say, the modern W Fort Lauderdale isn't for everyone: Features like the see-through glass walls in the bathrooms and the loud dance music in the common areas might be a better fit for a younger crowd. But the atmosphere is decidedly more subdued in the minimally designed rooms, which feature comfy beds, flat-screen TVs and iHome stereos. Most rooms were recently renovated in 2016 to include chic blue and white decor. Although some recent guests bemoan the $35 resort fee, sun-seekers found this W outpost's location extremely convenient: the property is just steps from the beach and about 3 miles from downtown Fort Lauderdale. In addition to its shore-side setting, the hotel also boasts the AWAY Spa and a 1,360-square-foot fitness center. And because this hotel is part of the Marriott hotel family, Marriott Bonvoy members can earn and use points here.

Occupying 16 acres of prime beachfront in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, this resort is popular with vacationers. Activities and amenities abound at the Fort Lauderdale Marriott Harbor Beach Resort & Spa: Guests can enjoy a treatment in the 22,000-square-foot spa, break a sweat at the expansive gym, or bask in the sun in a lounge chair on the private beach or by one of two pools. And because of their coastal location, this Marriott outpost's restaurants feature menus full of fresh seafood. Many also offer outdoor dining with views of the ocean. When it's time to rest, guests will find rooms are bright with white and beige decor and come outfitted with coffee makers, flat-screen TVs and minibars. (Opt for a room with a view or a suite for floor-to-ceiling windows that offer impressive panoramas of the ocean or Intracoastal Waterway.) Past visitors were complimentary of the resort's picturesque location, comfortable accommodations and hospitable staff, adding that the customer service was simply outstanding. The Westin Fort Lauderdale Beach Resort
    Fort Lauderdale, FL
#8 in Best Hotels in Fort Lauderdale
TripAdvisor Traveler Rating 4.5 based on 473 reviewsTripAdvisor (473)

This Westin in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, has aced its color scheme – the lobby, beach chaises and even the exterior siding are done in calming blue and white hues. The soothing color palette carries into the guest rooms, which feature amenities like Heavenly Beds, flat-screen TVs and wooden furnishings. Even traveler complaints – like too few balconies – are overshadowed by praise for the friendly hotel staff. But if you're looking for privacy, the room's revealing slate bathroom doors are enough to reconsider. The hotel makes up for this oversight with its 6,500-square-foot Heavenly Spa by Westin, two on-site restaurants, an outdoor pool overlooking the ocean and a bridge connecting patrons directly to the beach. The resort's location – just south of the romantic Bonnet House along Fort Lauderdale Beach – makes it a convenient choice for sun-seekers and sightseers alike. And because this hotel is part of the Marriott hotel family, Marriott Bonvoy members can earn and use points here.

    Conrad Fort Lauderdale Beach
    Fort Lauderdale, FL
#9 in Best Hotels in Fort Lauderdale
TripAdvisor Traveler Rating 4.5 based on 12 reviewsTripAdvisor (12)

This property enjoys an enviable location overlooking Fort Lauderdale Beach and its soft white sand. A perfect pick for beach bums, the Conrad Fort Lauderdale Beach opened in December 2017 and offers a wealth of on-site amenities. The hotel houses a spa, a 24-hour gym and a heated outdoor pool and hot tub, plus fitness buffs can participate in free sunrise beach yoga at 8 a.m. daily, which recent guests cited as a welcome perk. The hotel's dining and drinking options range from the sophisticated seafood restaurant Terra Mare and chic Atlas Cocktail Lounge to the casual grab-and-go Cornucopia Gourmet Market and relaxed Spinnaker Pool Grill. Guests can also enjoy 24-hour room service. Speaking of rooms, the Conrad Fort Lauderdale Beach offers 290 suites that come with private terraces, 50-inch HD TVs, separate tubs and showers, and fully stocked kitchens. Overall, former travelers were impressed with the swanky suites and superb staff. Keep in mind, there is a daily resort fee of $35 tacked on to the room rate, but it covers in-room Wi-Fi access, two beach chairs and umbrellas, bike rentals and 20 percent off of spa services. What's more, thanks to its Hilton ties, the hotel allows Hilton Honors members to earn or cash in points during stays.

    Hilton Fort Lauderdale Marina
    Fort Lauderdale, FL
#10 in Best Hotels in Fort Lauderdale
TripAdvisor Traveler Rating 3.5 based on 5628 reviewsTripAdvisor (5628)

Its ultra-convenient location at the edge of the Intracoastal Waterway makes the Hilton Fort Lauderdale Marina a popular rest stop for cruise-liner crowds and business travelers. This Hilton is also 4 miles from Fort Lauderdale Beach (which can be reached by the hotel's complimentary beach shuttle), a plus for recent visitors who added a few extra days to their trip to enjoy the city. Past guests recommend asking for a room with a marina view to avoid noise from the 17th Street Causeway. However, even with the scenic views, guests are disappointed with the poor conditions of the rooms that are in need of some upgrades (as well as a good cleaning). While here, visitors are also welcome to take advantage of the hotel pool and various dining options. Nanking, the hotel's sushi restaurant, was especially popular with prior travelers. And if you're a Hilton Honors member, you can earn or use points here.

TripAdvisor Traveler Rating 4 based on 1362 reviewsTripAdvisor (1362)

Like its name suggests, this hotel caters to the cruise crowd with its prime location near the Fort Lauderdale cruise terminal. According to those who have stayed here, the location can't be beat. However, high room rates combined with pricey extras (like $25 per day self-parking and daily Wi-Fi fees that range between $9.95 and $13.95) earn this Renaissance property fairly tepid reviews from recent visitors. Each accommodation comes equipped with signature Revive bedding, flat-screen TVs and deluxe bath products. Additionally, visitors will find an outdoor pool, a fitness center and Bistro 17 and R Lounge, which serve American fare. Cruisers in particular really appreciate the cruise port shuttle available to guests. Plus, Marriott Bonvoy members can use or earn reward points here.

Accommodations at this Sheraton start at 429 square feet and include separate living and sleeping areas, large windows, pull-out sofas, one king-sized bed or two double beds, flat-screen TVs and marble bathrooms. Recent guests said this is a great hotel to stay at if you're in town for a cruise, as it offers a free shuttle to the area's shopping mall in case you need to pick up any last-minute supplies. Visitors also appreciated the spacious renovated accommodations, the friendly staff and the tasty cuisine.
