The Ritz-Carlton, Fort Lauderdale does not disappoint. The hotel's modern decor is accented with art deco touches, the lobby is crafted out of gorgeous marble and private balconies adjoin all guest rooms and suites. Along with the ocean or Intracoastal Waterway views, rooms boast leather furniture, flat-screen TVs and spacious marble bathrooms. Some travelers recommend requesting rooms with ocean vistas, as Intracoastal Waterway-facing rooms are situated next to a building with air conditioning units that can be loud and unsightly. Guests can't quite determine what they like most about this hotel, praising the Ritz's posh perks like a fitness center that overlooks the Intracoastal Waterway, an 8,500-square-foot spa and a heated infinity pool with poolside service. But there are two points all reviewers seem to agree on: Both the beachfront Fort Lauderdale, Florida, location and the outstanding service receive high marks across the board. However, keep in mind that all guests are charged a daily $40 resort fee. To offset this extra charge, Marriott Bonvoy members use points to cover their stays.

Located about a mile north of the Fort Lauderdale Beach strip along the Atlantic Ocean, the Pelican Grand Beach Resort has quietly removed itself from the cruise ship hubbub to craft a more peaceful, Victorian-esque ambiance. Amenities like the wraparound veranda – decked out with classic rocking chairs – and the old-fashioned ice cream parlor are hits with guests. This member of the Noble House hotel group gets high praise for its family-friendliness, too; the little ones are sure to love the lazy river, zero-entry pool and beach, as well as the Funky Fish Ocean Camp (charges apply). As for dining, head to OCEAN2000 for seafood and steaks with a side of ocean views. When it's time to bed down, rooms feature city or ocean vistas, minifridges, Keurig coffee makers and, in suites, furnished balconies. Plus, the daily $35 resort fee includes the cost of internet access. You'll find this Fort Lauderdale, Florida, resort on North Ocean Boulevard, less than 2 miles from the Bonnet House and about 10 miles northeast of the Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport.

Located right on Fort Lauderdale, Florida's beach, the pale yellow Atlantic Hotel & Spa is all about the views. Along with balconies facing the ocean or city, the studios, suites and penthouses feature flat-screen TVs, soaking tubs, free Wi-Fi access and kitchenettes or kitchens stocked with minifridges, stoves and microwaves. In addition to the well-equipped accommodations, recent guests praised the hotel's efficient and amicable staff. After visitors get their fill of staring at miles of sand and surf (if that's even possible), they can seek rejuvenation at the property's spa and 24-hour fitness center or take a dip in the waterfront pool. Or, guests can simply soak up some sun at the beach, which is merely steps away. However, be prepared to pay. Daily parking fees at this Preferred Lifestyle outpost are steep, and a daily resort fee of $35 applies. But most previous visitors said the location is completely worth the splurge. Sandwiched between the Stranahan River and the beach, Lago Mar Beach Resort & Club has a primo locale away from the chaos of Fort Lauderdale, Florida's main strip. This property enjoys an enviable location overlooking Fort Lauderdale Beach and its soft white sand. A perfect pick for beach bums, the Conrad Fort Lauderdale Beach opened in December 2017 and offers a wealth of on-site amenities. The hotel houses a spa, a 24-hour gym and a heated outdoor pool and hot tub, plus fitness buffs can participate in free sunrise beach yoga at 8 a.m. daily, which recent guests cited as a welcome perk. The Hilton Fort Lauderdale Beach Resort, as its name suggests, sits alongside Fort Lauderdale, Florida's beach – so gorgeous ocean views abound. But that's not the only reason people like staying here. Although this Hilton outpost's customer service receives mixed reviews, the property is praised for its comfortable accommodations, which manage to remain peaceful despite its central location along the bustling promenade. Suites get high marks for their spaciousness, as well as the excellent views of the Atlantic Ocean and the Fort Lauderdale skyline. 4.5-star Hotel Class
From its glass-bottom view of the outdoor pool to the funky DJs who spin tunes at said pool, this W likes to throw visitors an über-hip curve-ball. So needless to say, the modern W Fort Lauderdale isn't for everyone: Features like the see-through glass walls in the bathrooms and the loud dance music in the common areas might be a better fit for a younger crowd. But the atmosphere is decidedly more subdued in the minimally designed rooms, which feature comfy beds, flat-screen TVs and iHome stereos. Most rooms were recently renovated in 2016 to include chic blue and white decor. Although some recent guests bemoan the $35 resort fee, sun-seekers found this W outpost's location extremely convenient: the property is just steps from the beach and about 3 miles from downtown Fort Lauderdale. In addition to its shore-side setting, the hotel also boasts the AWAY Spa and a 1,360-square-foot fitness center. And because this hotel is part of the Marriott hotel family, Marriott Bonvoy members can earn and use points here.

    4.0-star Hotel Class
This Westin in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, has aced its color scheme – the lobby, beach chaises and even the exterior siding are done in calming blue and white hues. The soothing color palette carries into the guest rooms, which feature amenities like Heavenly Beds, flat-screen TVs and wooden furnishings. Even traveler complaints – like too few balconies – are overshadowed by praise for the friendly hotel staff. But if you're looking for privacy, the room's revealing slate bathroom doors are enough to reconsider. The hotel makes up for this oversight with its 6,500-square-foot Heavenly Spa by Westin, two on-site restaurants, an outdoor pool overlooking the ocean and a bridge connecting patrons directly to the beach. The resort's location – just south of the romantic Bonnet House along Fort Lauderdale Beach – makes it a convenient choice for sun-seekers and sightseers alike. Activities and amenities abound at the Fort Lauderdale Marriott Harbor Beach Resort & Spa: Guests can enjoy a treatment in the 22,000-square-foot spa, break a sweat at the expansive gym, or bask in the sun in a lounge chair on the private beach or by one of two pools. 4.0-star Hotel Class
Its ultra-convenient location at the edge of the Intracoastal Waterway makes the Hilton Fort Lauderdale Marina a popular rest stop for cruise-liner crowds and business travelers. This Hilton is also 4 miles from Fort Lauderdale Beach (which can be reached by the hotel's complimentary beach shuttle), a plus for recent visitors who added a few extra days to their trip to enjoy the city. Past guests recommend asking for a room with a marina view to avoid noise from the 17th Street Causeway. However, even with the scenic views, guests are disappointed with the poor conditions of the rooms that are in need of some upgrades (as well as a good cleaning). While here, visitors are also welcome to take advantage of the hotel pool and various dining options. Nanking, the hotel's sushi restaurant, was especially popular with prior travelers. Like its name suggests, this hotel caters to the cruise crowd with its prime location near the Fort Lauderdale cruise terminal. According to those who have stayed here, the location can't be beat. However, high room rates combined with pricey extras (like $25 per day self-parking and daily Wi-Fi fees that range between $9.95 and $13.95) earn this Renaissance property fairly tepid reviews from recent visitors. Each accommodation comes equipped with signature Revive bedding, flat-screen TVs and deluxe bath products. Cruisers in particular really appreciate the cruise port shuttle available to guests. Plus, Marriott Bonvoy members can use or earn reward points here.

Situated about 19 miles west of downtown Fort Lauderdale, the Bonaventure Resort & Spa is bit of an inconvenient commute for those with plans to hit the beach. But it is a great choice if you want to explore the nearby Sawgrass Recreation Park or the Everglades. However, this property caters more to business travelers with ample meeting space and four restaurants, including the AAA Four Diamond-rated Ireland's Steakhouse. And when it comes time to take a break from work, test your game on the rolling fairways of the Bonaventure Country Club. If you're not much of a golfer, past guests recommend booking a massage or body treatment at the in-house spa or securing a spot next to one of the hotel's four pools for an afternoon in the sun. The Bonaventure's colonial-style guest rooms include marble bathrooms, iPod docking stations, flat-screen TVs and even bidets. Although minutes away from one of Fort Lauderdale's top attractions, the close proximity to Sawgrass Recreation Park's swampy environment has been known to linger into the property. Some recent guests reported encountering a musty smell in their rooms, as well as bugs. Keep in mind, it's location far from the city's beaches make it much cheaper than accommodations on the shore.

It's fairly easy to see why this hotel is a favorite among romance-seekers. Most who have stayed at The Pillars Hotel feel as though they've uncovered a hidden gem. To them, this elegant boutique does just about everything rightparticularly when it comes to addressing guests' needs. Looking at the website, you'd think the poolside rooms would have the most coveted beds, but we suggest reserving a King Courtyard Deluxe on the hotel's front side, which boasts a separate entrance and a private courtyard. The hotel's tasty restaurant, Secret Garden, plates delicious Moroccan-inspired cuisine. Keep in mind that The Pillars Hotel faces inward to Fort Lauderdale's Coral Bay, not the Atlantic Ocean, meaning that you won't fall asleep to the sound of the surf. However, there's a water taxi that will shuttle you from the hotel's marina to other spots along the Intercoastal Waterway.
