Ideally located in the diplomatic district of Berlin on the southern edge of the Tiergarten, SO/ Berlin Das Stue is a luxury boutique hotel with its own private entrance to the adjacent Berlin Zoo. In fact, the hotel even sponsors Stuy, the zoo's red giant kangaroo that was born in March of 2016. Inside, the animal theme continues with crocodile head sculptures, leather hippos and wire mesh giraffes. The 78 guest rooms and suites boast floor-to-ceiling windows (some of which look out at the zoo), as well as rain showers, king-sized beds, free Wi-Fi, hardwood floors and spacious closets. For dining, guests have access to two restaurants: the Michelin-starred Cinco by Paco Pérez and The Casual Restaurant, which serves tapas. Patrons can also enjoy a 1920s- and '30s-inspired bar with 400 German and Spanish wines. Recent guests said the Spanish food was phenomenal, but several felt the price for breakfast was too expensive. Overall, visitors loved the service and said that the staff throughout the hotel went out of their way to make you feel special.

#7 in Best Hotels in Germany
TripAdvisor Traveler Rating 4.5 based on 1537 reviewsTripAdvisor (1537)

Despite its name, this hotel is not anywhere close to Italy. Rather, you'll find the property – a former bank – smack dab in the middle of Berlin. All of the city's biggest attractions are within walking distance of the property, including the Brandenburg Gate, Museum Island, Tiergarten, Reichstagufer and the Memorial to the Murdered Jews of Europe. Much like the neighborhood in which the hotel resides, there is plenty to do on the property. Guests can take a dip in the pool (located in a former jewelry vault), get their hearts pumping at the fitness center or unwind at the on-site spa. For dining, La Banca is the hotel's main restaurant and serves Italian cuisine. Opera Court is solely dedicated to afternoon tea and the rooftop terrace, another seasonal space, offers signature cocktails and light a la carte items. Rooms are traditional in style and feature standard necessities, such as TVs, in-room bars, bathrooms with separate baths and showers and free Wi-Fi for up to five devices. Though guests said many different attributes contributed to their successful stays, it was the top-notch service that was the most memorable for many. What's more, the hotel is part of The Leading Hotels of the World, meaning Leaders Club members have access to perks here.

TripAdvisor Traveler Rating 5 based on 742 reviewsTripAdvisor (742)

Recent guests found it difficult to find any flaws with southwestern Germany's Brenners Park-Hotel & Spa, praising the outstanding staff, the beautiful grounds and the incredible food. Rooms are outfitted in an English country house style with balconies overlooking the hotel's private villas, park and River Oos. The hotel sits within walking distance of the charming town of Baden-Baden, and it's about 20 minutes from the Black Forest, which features trails and bike paths you can explore with the hotel's complimentary mountain bikes. There's also a large spa on-site, equipped with pools and beauty services, as well as a medical center that offers dental, ophthalmology and OBGYN services on-site, among other healthcare services. This Autograph Collection property receives a lot of praise for pulling off what other centrally located hotels struggle to accomplish: maintaining a quiet atmosphere while residing in a bustling neighborhood. Hotel am Steinplatz is located at the edge of the popular Tiergarten and is within walking distance of plenty of restaurants, bars, shopping and transportation links. Just a few blocks from the hotel, travelers can gain access to both U-Bahn and S-Bahn rail systems, the bus, the zoo and plenty of international retailers on Kurfürstendamm Street. On-site, visitors will find ample amenities, including a fitness center, a spa with a menu of treatments and beauty services, as well as the Am Steinplatz Restaurant and bar, which serves contemporary German cuisine and a robust cocktail menu. The contemporary theme of the hotel carries into its chic rooms, which are outfitted with tufted leather headboards and wingback arm chairs, chrome light fixtures and sleek wood furnishings. In-room amenities include complimentary wireless internet, iPod docking stations, 42-inch LCD TVs and coffee and tea making facilities. Service was also a highlight here, with many saying the staff was very friendly and helpful throughout their entire stay. Keep in mind that this Marriott property participates in the Marriott Bonvoy loyalty program, so members can earn and use points by staying here.
