    The Westin St. Louis
    St. Louis, MO
#6 in Best Hotels in Missouri
TripAdvisor Traveler Rating 4.5 based on 1590 reviewsTripAdvisor (1590)

This Westin is situated near Busch Stadium in the Cupples Station area of St. Louis, making it an ideal place for Cardinals fans to hang their hat. In fact, its high rating from guests is, in part, due to its location downtown on Spruce Street. But the friendly staff, the American cuisine at the on-site Clark Street Grill, and the large, comfortable rooms definitely add to the hotel's charm, too. And if your ideal St. Louis getaway includes treatments like Swedish massages, facials or body scrubs, The Westin St. Louis offers these too, both in-room and at the Health Club & Spa. The biggest drawback for recent visitors was the high parking fees, both for self parking and valet. The hotel is home to a car rental booth, though, making it easy for guests without a car to find their way to the city's top attractions like the Anheuser-Busch Brewery or the Gateway Arch. And because this hotel is part of the Marriott hotel family, Marriott Bonvoy members can earn and use points here.

Magnolia Hotel St. Louis, A Tribute Portfolio Hotel

TripAdvisor Traveler Rating 4.5 based on 920 reviewsTripAdvisor (920)

If you're looking for a boutique property with history and style, you can't go wrong with the Magnolia Hotel St. Louis, according to recent guests. This downtown outpost, which first opened in 1925 as the Mayfair Hotel, holds a spot on National Register of Historic Places. Upon entering the lobby, you'll notice the ornate columns, lavish chandeliers and intricate ceiling patterns that were hallmark architectural elements of the time. But though the hotel celebrates its historic beginnings, it doesn't skimp on modern conveniences, offering a fitness center, free internet access and complimentary transportation within the downtown area (in a Tesla, no less). Rooms are equally modern, decorated in a "Hollywood glam" style (think faux leather headboards and glass nightstand lamps) with a gray and yellow color palette, and outfitted with flat-screen TVs and coffee makers. Though past lodgers were generally pleased with their accommodations, they did mention that the hotel seems to be showing its age (peeling paint was a common gripe among recent visitors). Because it sits in downtown St. Louis, the hotel offers a convenient perch for exploring the area's restaurants, shops and bars. But if you'd rather dine on-site, you can order room service or retreat to Robie's Restaurant and Lounge. Keep in mind that because this is a Tribute Portfolio hotel, members of the Marriott Bonvoy program can earn and redeem points by choosing to stay here.

The Raphael Hotel, Autograph Collection earns praise for its affordability, as well as its luxury. The hotel's location just steps from Country Club Plaza is another feather in its cap, according to recent guests. The Raphael's 126 accommodations fit neatly into a converted brick apartment building, which was built in the 1920s. Past visitors said the hotel's charming atmosphere and convenient perch in Kansas City, Missouri, are reason alone to return. The upscale American cuisine at Chaz on the Plaza also comes highly rated, and it can be enjoyed either at a restaurant table or in the comforts of your private room (with 24-hour room service). Staying in your digs will be perfect for enjoying amenities like 300-thread-count sheets, a minifridge and complimentary wireless internet access. (Keep in mind that the accommodations are relatively small.) Because the Raphael is a part of the Marriott brand, members of the Marriott Bonvoy program can earn or apply accumulated points here for additional stay benefits.
