Unlike other hotels in Santa Fe, New Mexico, The Inn of the Five Graces does not try to steep you in Southwestern culture. Rather, guests here are transported to the Eastern Hemisphere: The decor includes imported treasures from the Middle East and Asia, including tapestries and mosaic tiles. Previous visitors favorably described their rooms as cozy, exotic and bursting with color, praising the hotel's harmonious mélange of atmosphere and amenities (including complimentary Wi-Fi access). The same enticing combination can be found at the spa, where treatments are inspired by Tibetan and East Indian traditions. The hotel also excels in customer service; many travelers describe the staff as helpful and remark on the delicious breakfast waiting for them in the dining room, in the courtyard or even in their personal suites. Though breakfast is included in your room rate, you will have to pay for dinner at 315 Restaurant & Wine Bar (but guests insist that the French flavors are worth the relatively steep menu prices). And though you might feel worlds away at this Relais & Châteaux property, you're actually just a few blocks from the Plaza.

The Inn and Spa at Loretto (managed by Destination Hotels & Resorts) is just a short walk from major attractions (including the Plaza and St. Francis Cathedral), but you'll still want to reserve some time to explore the hotel. Guests enjoy the rooms, which put a modern spin on Southwest decor with bright red hues and beige accents, as well as flat-screen TVs and deluxe bath products. Some rooms even feature private balconies overlooking the city (though you'll have to be willing to pay extra for the views). While here, you won't want to pass up the opportunity to relax at the Spa at Loretto, which infuses Native American healing techniques into its treatments. And as the day draws to a close, recent guests strongly suggest spending dinnertime at Luminaria, which offers an innovative take on Santa Fe cuisine, before grabbing cocktails in The Living Room lounge. While most travelers enjoyed the hotel's setting and proximity to Santa Fe's top sights, many were disappointed with the pricey room rates and extra fees, and said the rooms could stand to be updated.

Hotel Andaluz blends traditional and modern quite well. You'll find that the hotel's color palette reflects Southwest decor and that the courtyard arches are reminiscent of adobe-style architecture. But the accommodations exude a much more contemporary feel; funky designs and modern art fill the spacious guest rooms and public areas. Meanwhile, travelers relish MÁS, the in-house restaurant, and the party-hard atmosphere of Ibiza, the rooftop bar and club. (However, if you're not much of a night owl, recent guests recommend a room on one of the lower floors to avoid the noise from Ibiza's after-hours revelry.) All visitors can agree on one thing though, they say the hotel's staff is warm and inviting.

Guests say the property's standout features are its spacious rooms, exceptional service and Native American art gallery, where you can purchase pieces from local artists. The hotel's interior and exterior reflect the surrounding environment, and local materials (think: sandstone, recessed rock, concrete and wood) highlight the region's history and culture.
