Nestled in Québec City's Old Port, the Auberge Saint-Antoine complements the quaint Petit-Champlain district with elegant decor featuring European artifacts and modern accents. Additional touches, such as minibars, coffee machines, and bathrooms equipped with heated floors and no-fog mirrors earn an extra nod of approval, but recent guests particularly applaud this Relais & Châteaux property's warm and courteous hotel staff. After strolling along Québec City's cobbled streets, you can cozy up at Chez Muffy, an intimate dining room that stuns with gorgeous St. Lawrence River views and an eclectic assortment of seasonal French-Canadian dishes. For lighter fare, grab a table at Bar Artefact, which dishes up small dishes like poutine and grilled cheese. You can also take advantage of the hotel's unique amenities, such as the private movie screening room and LeGYM fitness center and private spa treatment rooms, which all receive high marks from previous visitors.

Housed in a century-old building that still retains its original stone and woodwork, Le Germain Hotel Québec has been carefully remodeled to include modern amenities like a 24-hour fitness center and complimentary in-room Wi-Fi. The hotel's guest rooms and suites also come with a complimentary breakfast, goose-down bedding, flat-screen TVs, minibars and Molton Brown toiletries. Recent visitors raved about the "unbeatable" bedding and the "well-appointed" rooms with "beautiful" views of Old Quebec, while others wished the hotel had a restaurant on-site. The hotel does have the Patio, though, which is an idyllic setting for sipping a drink between meetings or sightseeing. Because of the hotel's central location to historic Québec City, guests will find numerous restaurants, boutique shops and attractions within walking distance of the hotel, including the Museum of Civilization and Place Royal.

    Fairmont Le Château Frontenac
    Québec City, QC
    1 mile to city center
#3 in Best Hotels in Quebec City
TripAdvisor Traveler Rating 4.5 based on 6052 reviewsTripAdvisor (6052)
The palatial façade of the Fairmont Le Château Frontenac isn't all this landmark hotel has going for it. Upon entering, guests are greeted with lavish decor and sweeping views overlooking the St. Lawrence River and Old Québec (Vieux-Québec). The gorgeous scenery extends to the accommodations, appointed with cable TVs, minibars and Wi-Fi access (for a fee), though several recent guests thought some of the rooms were showing signs of age. But recent guests say the hotel's enviable location – a stone's throw from Québec City's top sites – is what sets this AccorHotels branch apart from competitors. Should you find extra time to spare between wandering the city streets and exploring historic sites, soothe any lingering tension at the Moment Spa. Or, if you came to tackle fresh powder, you have your choice of three ski areas – all situated within an hour of the hotel. Afterward, enjoy an après-ski cocktail or a hearty meal at one of four restaurants, as well as a Starbucks outpost on the hotel's terrace level, all of which garner high praise for their excellent service. Le Club AccorHotels program members can also earn frequent flyer miles for choosing to stay here.

#4 in Best Hotels in Quebec City
TripAdvisor Traveler Rating 4.5 based on 2060 reviewsTripAdvisor (2060)

Occupying a 19th-century neoclassical building that once served as the headquarters for the National Bank of Canada, Hotel 71 prides itself on its unique Old Port location. And Hotel 71's interior is just as alluring as its façade, with 60 stylish accommodations appointed with hardwood floors, high ceilings and red decorative accents. Recent visitors particularly compliment the contemporary amenities, such as the Nespresso coffee makers, minifridges, flat-screen TVs, iPod docking stations and free Wi-Fi access. The hotel's proximity to Old Quebec and a handful of attractions is another major draw (along with the stunning views of the St. Lawrence River), according to past visitors. Plus, the business center and same-day dry cleaning services are perks for those traveling for work. When hunger strikes, head to Restaurant Il Matto for some tasty Italian fare or stroll through Old Québec to discover authentic bistros.
