    Kirawira Serena Camp
    Serengeti National Park
    5-star HOTEL CLASS
TripAdvisor Traveler Rating 4.5 based on 294 reviewsTripAdvisor (294)

Designed in typically Edwardian style, this exclusive camp features an elegant central meeting tent evocatively furnished with a tasteful selection of chintz-covered chaises longues, Persian rugs, antique escritoire, wind-up phonograms, leather-bound travelling cases, brass shooting sticks, carved rocking chairs, and stud-backed smoking chairs.

In keeping with the theme of colonial opulence, the elegant twin dining tents feature Edwardian-styled dining furniture, sprung floors, crisp-starched napery, delicate blue and white china and weighty silver accoutrements, whilst the staff are attired in classical colonial ‘mess' uniform of white Swahili robes.

The camp has just 25 widely-spaced luxury tents, raised on timber platforms, each with a glorious view of the plains. Each tent has a spacious furnished deck leading to a bedroom furnished in antique Edwardian style with steamer-trunks, writing desk, brass lamps, rugs, sepia photographs and four-poster bed with patchwork quilt. Each tent has its own personal valet.

    Sanctuary Kusini
    Serengeti National Park
    4-star HOTEL CLASS
TripAdvisor Traveler Rating 5 based on 183 reviewsTripAdvisor (183)

Sanctuary Kusini offers a Serengeti safari like no other. Every year wildebeest congregate on the camp's "doorstep" in this unspoilt and remote part of the Serengeti during the calving season - what better way to experience the wildebeest migration than with a Tanzania safari holiday to Sanctuary Kusini?

The site for Sanctuary Kusini was decided upon only after a great deal of research and input from Sanctuary's guides and local experts. The camp itself is built on a raised kopje surrounded by woodland - providing stunning views of the plains below from the main deck. Zebra, cape buffalo, lion and cheetah are a common sight year-round. The communal tent has a library, sitting room, dining room and verandah. Bush breakfasts and sundowners are served on the giant boulders of the kopje overlooking the endless plains for which the Serengeti is so famed.

The twelve tents at Sanctuary Kusini are shaded from the sun by acacia trees, and all are positioned carefully with thought out views of the surrounding plains. Each tent has its own personal attendant to look after guests during their stay. The private wooden verandah with comfortable furniture is the ideal spot to relax for a sundowner after a hot restorative shower.

    Serengeti Serena Safari Lodge
    Serengeti National Park
    4-star HOTEL CLASS
TripAdvisor Traveler Rating 4.5 based on 1033 reviewsTripAdvisor (1033)

Set high on the saddle of a tree-clad ridge, commanding panoramic views across the Serengeti, this lodge is the ultimate fusion of traditional African architecture and world-class style. Winner of numerous awards from the world travel press, it is perhaps the finest venue the Serengeti has to offer.

Centrally located adjacent to the famous Western Corridor and Grumeti River, the lodge has been designed to blend completely into the living landscape. A series of traditional domed ‘rondavels' are widely spaced throughout the grounds, which are cooled by groves of acacia trees and watered by sparkling streams. On the very edge of the ridge is a ‘vanishing horizon' pool, which looks out over the ‘endless plains' after which the Serengeti is named.

Situated close to the world-famous 2-million-year-old paleolithic site of Ol Duvai, ‘birthplace of mankind', the lodge has been styled to offer a showcase of cultural performance, heritage and traditional art, which is best illustrated by the lavish Makonde carvings which decorate both the rooms and the stunning domed dining room.

As for wildlife, the Serengeti National Park offers not only all the members of ‘The Big Five' (elephant, rhino, lion, leopard and buffalo), but also the annual ‘migration' of over one million wildebeest and their attendant cast of predators.

    Singita Faru Faru Lodge
    Serengeti National Park
TripAdvisor Traveler Rating 5 based on 178 reviewsTripAdvisor (178)

Situated on a slope, basking in the abundance of animal species and birdlife around it, Singita Faru Faru Lodge lends a contemporary signature style to safari. Inspired by a botanical theme, this riverside lodge offers barefoot elegance in a laid-back rustic setting.

The organic lines of two rim-flow swimming pools echo those of a watering hole that lies just below. The elevated viewing decks over the watering hole allow guests to view game without even leaving their lodge, and a Swahili-inspired ‘beach’ offers the opportunity for some serious rest and relaxation. The contrast of stone and canvas against cutting-edge design and comfortable furnishings is integrated in eight open-style suites and one Villa Suite.
