Grace Bay Club in western Providenciales offers classic Caribbean vacation activities, like deep-sea fishing, couples spa treatments and poolside drink service. And after a day of fishing, relaxing, or dining, you can retire to digs ranging from ocean-facing junior suites to four-bedroom beachfront residences with private pools. Each suite or villa contains at least one king-sized bed, plus an iPod dock, an LCD TV and a kitchenette. Guests say that a stay at Grace Bay can be pricey, but with perks like a personal concierge and views of the resort's gorgeous grounds, the cost is well worth it. Unlike some other luxury resorts, Grace Bay isn't just for adults: Children of all ages can participate in snorkeling excursions or arts and crafts sessions with Grace Bay's Kids Town program. In the meantime, parents can get dressed up for an elegant dinner at the Infiniti Restaurant & Raw Bar restaurant or one of the other dining establishments at the resort. What's more, the hotel is part of the Leading Hotels of the World, meaning Leaders Club members have access to perks here.

The protected waters of Princess Alexandra National Park on Grace Bay frame Seven Stars Resort, making it a seafarer's paradise. After swimming, snorkeling or sailing (all complimentary), guests can retire to one of Seven Stars' one- to four-bedroom suites, all equipped with flat-screen TVs and iPod docking stations. Suites also include full kitchens or kitchenettes with Nespresso machines and marble bathrooms with separate showers and soaking tubs. When you get hungry, you can choose from two gourmet on-site restaurants (continental breakfast is served at Seven Restaurant daily) or get poolside service at Providenciales' only heated saltwater pool. On Sundays, take part in the BBQ and Bonfire Bash with live music. If you want to hit the spa, just drop the kids off at the kids club. Best of all, according to guests, is the resort's proximity to the airport: A 7-mile drive will bring you to Seven Stars' doorstep. What you do there is up to you.

A member of the family-friendly fleet of Beaches Resorts, Beaches Turks & Caicos offers plenty of fun for kids and parents. In fact, guests warn against coming here without kids, as there are so many child-friendly activities (and some childless guests found the amount of young people around a bit annoying). Beaches' 45,000-square-foot Pirates Island Waterpark will keep everyone occupied with some fun in the sun, while the Xbox Play Lounge 360 Game Garage and youth-friendly dance club will entertain even the grumpiest teenagers. After a massage at the Red Lane Spa, regroup for a meal at one of Beaches' 20 restaurants, which serve up everything from pizza to sushi to burgers (rest assured, there's also the adults-only Sapodilla's for a romantic dinner for two). Come back home to Beaches' guest rooms, which feature patios and mahogany beds (with separate bunk bed rooms for the kids) and, true to the resort's name, all are within walking distance of Grace Bay's alabaster beach.

Upgraded suites also boast private balconies and in-suite washers and dryers. Guests laud the Regent's heated infinity pool – inlaid with mosaic tiles – which beckons to swimmers of all ages. It's not just the welcome rum punch talking – guests can't stop raving about The Somerset on Grace Bay's beauty. With 53 guest rooms and villas housed in three buildings that symmetrically surround a swimming pool, this resort is certainly a pleasure to look at. The rooms also earn high praise for their appearance thanks to marble bathrooms, kitchenettes, mahogany furnishings and queen-sized beds. (However, standard rooms do not offer outdoor spaces that overlook the ocean.) But there's more to The Somerset than meets the eye: You can engage in a variety of land or water activities, from beach volleyball to windsurfing, spa treatments to swims in the infinity pool (though some activities require a one-time fee). Plus, guests can try out croquet on the only regulation lawn on the Turks and Caicos Islands, while kids can spend time doing supervised activities at the complimentary Caicos Kids Club. When you've worked up an appetite, you can either request a private chef to your villa or dine with an ocean view at LunaSea Pool Bar & Grill or Pavilion.

Amanyara emphasizes relaxation. In fact, its name comes from aman, the Sanskrit word for "peace." Located on the secluded northernmost tip of Providenciales, Amanyara takes pampering to a whole new level. Guests may choose to bed down in either a one-room pavilion or a multi-room villa, all minimally decorated and appointed with a platform bed, a flat-screen TV and sliding glass doors (some of which lead out to private pools or outdoor showers). Along with the beautiful accommodations, recent guests commend Amanyara's activities, especially its private yoga and tennis instruction (which are included in the cost of your stay). Even with an upscale restaurant and an emphasis on tranquility, Amanyara does not rule out younger visitors. The Nature Discovery Centre is a place for kids to get up close and personal with Turks & Caicos' marine life, and the 30-seat screening room shows movies on a regular basis.

Guests say that the West Bay Club's suites feel like a home away from home. Maybe that's because they come appointed with kitchens or kitchenettes that can be stocked with groceries prior to arrival –if you opt (and pay) for it. Or maybe it's the free wireless internet access and cable TV that keep you connected to the outside world. However, once you venture outside your room, you'll be greeted by views of Grace Bay and central Provo – certainly a break from the ordinary. Get out and enjoy the scenery with complimentary beach lounge chairs, snorkeling gear or Hobie Cat sailboats. At night, the beach turns up the romance a notch; guests can schedule a private sunset dinner right on the sand. For even more romance, sign up for a couples massage at the Anani Spa, which recent guests can't stop raving about. If you're having trouble deciding what to do, West Bay's concierge, which guests cite as the most helpful staff member, can point you in the right direction.

Like its sister hotels in the USA, Gansevoort Turks + Caicos exudes urban sensibilities and design – only now you can find them on Grace Bay. Its 91 guest rooms feature amenities like complimentary wireless Internet access, electronically controlled blinds and BOSE sound systems. The resort's modernist touches don't end in the rooms: Guests praise Gansevoort's sleek infinity pool, as well as the contemporary cuisine at Stelle. For all of Gansevoort's high fashion, it does have a function: relaxation. Stretch out on a chaise lounge on the beach, or reserve a beach bed for the day (it comes with a fruit platter and a bottle of chilled rosé wine). To go even deeper into Zen mode, book a massage at Exhale Spa or attend a yoga class — though these perks do come at an additional cost.

Named for its location on the "point" of Grace Bay, this boutique hotel evokes a sense of 19th-century British colonial elegance thanks to its ornate banisters and whitewashed walls. Each of Point Grace's guest rooms and suites boast more than 1,000 square feet of living space, with separate bedrooms, living rooms, full kitchens and en-suite bathrooms (which feature claw foot tubs). Guests can dine at either Grace's Cottage or Hutchings Restaurant for a taste of the Caribbean, although some recent guests note that meals here can get pricey. For a bit of relaxation, visit the Thalasso Spa for a wide variety of services, including facials, massages and salt scrubs. Though activities are not included in the room rate, Point Grace guests have access to numerous outdoor thrills, such as scuba diving, parasailing and golf. Prefer to relax by the shore? The resort sits within reach of what recent guests call a quiet, near-perfect beach.

Guests agree that Windsong Resort serves as an ideal location for a relaxing beach vacation. More than 400 feet of Grace Bay Beach's sand skirts Windsong Resort, which sits close to some of the best snorkeling in the Turks and Caicos Islands (the Windsong coral reef lies just 20 feet offshore). People who stay here also dig their digs: This boutique hotel boasts guest rooms with 10-foot ceilings that tower over pillow-top beds, en suite baths and refrigerators. The food at Windsong, including its complimentary continental breakfasts, receives more mixed reviews. However, the resort's location allows guests to venture off property to find great restaurants, or visitors can splurge for the much-loved gazpacho and sandwiches at Jojo's Poolside Cafe. After lunch, travelers can enjoy a relaxing afternoon at Drift Spa or soak up the sun while taking advantage of free water sports equipment like Hobie Cat sailboats, paddleboards and kayaks.

Beach House is all about seclusion and intimacy. With only 21 suites located on their own private swath of Grace Bay's white-sand dunes, this boutique hotel will give you enough room to stretch out and relax – without being disturbed by too many beachgoers. Each spacious and airy suite (which measures more than 1,000 square feet) is decorated in driftwood decor, beachy blues and creams and includes a terrace or balcony and a kitchenette. Venture away from your room, and you'll learn that Beach House takes a scientific approach to cooking at its on-site restaurant, Kitchen 218, which has its own herb garden. Guests rave about the ever-changing seafood menu created by the resort's new chef, which reflects the day's fresh catches, as well as modern preparations of steaks and risottos, each paired with wine from around the world. Beach House also offers plenty of land and watersports, including yoga, kayaking, a water trampoline, snorkeling gear, table tennis, stand-up paddleboarding and kite boarding. Budget-minded guests will also appreciate the various inclusive packages that help shoulder the cost of activities.

If you're looking to lounge on a private beach with a daiquiri in hand, then Alexandra Resort has you covered. And for those of you who enjoy snorkeling – or ocean kayaking or paddleboarding – Alexandra Resort can also help you out. When hunger sets in, the Asú on the Beach restaurant will serve up the day's freshest catches, and if you need to unwind, Elevate Spa will massage any tension right out of you. The suites are well-appointed, boasting feather beds, kitchens or kitchenettes and, in some suites, laundry facilities (additions recent guests cited as useful). On the island of Providenciales, The Sands at Grace Bay stands as a tropical haven flanked by 12 miles of Grace Bay's white sand. The Sands' 114 air-conditioned suites are decorated in beige and blue, and each contains separate sleeping and living areas, along with a kitchenette and a furnished balcony. Couples and families alike can bask along the wooden deck of The Sands' free-form pool or go paddle boarding in the ocean. Meanwhile, scuba divers and snorkelers can explore the nearby barrier reef, which teems with sea turtles, eagle rays and even the odd shark or humpback whale. When salt, sun and sand have worn you out, grab a bite to eat at Hemingway's, which serves up everything from huevos rancheros in the morning to filet mignon at night. Guests rave about the restaurant's fare, but some recent guests do warn about the lack of variety on the menu for those staying on long vacations.
