Established in 1950 with the key objective of providing travelers with a relaxing escape, Club Med infuses breathtaking natural landscapes with high-end, all-inclusive accommodations. The hospitality group now boasts nearly 70 outposts across 26 countries worldwide, and its portfolio continues to expand. But what's kept travelers allured for nearly half a century isn't Club Med's gorgeous surroundings: It’s the properties' versatile vacation packages, which appeal to a broad spectrum of traveler types. Each of the varied styles provide travelers with a refreshing and rejuvenating retreat tailored to their personal preferences. And because all meals, activities and family- and couple-oriented services are included, budget-minded guests can unwind knowing that all of their expenses are covered. Club Med also offers frequent visitors loyalty privileges (such as free room upgrades and discounts on vacation packages) through its Club Med Great Members Program. Several Club Med properties claim a spot on our Best Hotels in Mexico and Best Hotels in Europe rankings lists; those hotels are listed below.

Rising above Caravelle Beach's picturesque shoreline near the Grande-Terre town of Sainte-Anne, Guadeloupe, Club Med Caravelle offers guests an all-inclusive retreat with primo beach access. But there's plenty more to do besides laze on powdery sands (although most visitors agree that lounging is a very pleasant way to spend the day). You'll have access to a wide array of outdoor activities at this Club Med outpost: everything from tennis to archery to trapeze lessons. Then, cool down with a dip in one of two pools or ocean while your youngsters take part in the resort's kids-oriented clubs. At the end of the day, enjoy a family dinner in one of the swanky restaurants: The Hibiscus and Allamanda Beach Lounge. Both serve a mix of Caribbean classics and international staples either buffet-style or a la carte. After, retreat to your guest room or suite, where you'll find plush white bedding, teal and orange or green accent linens, tea kettles, showers and flat-screen TVs. Although several reviewers note that some of the property's accommodations are a bit dated, the resort is currently undergoing renovations (which it anticipates finishing in late 2020) to update every room and suite.

Unlike other Club Med properties, this location caters more to families than to couples. Sprawling across white sands just south of Punta Cana's international airport, Club Med's bright white buildings feature 631 rooms and suites with neutral color schemes, colorful accent pieces and amenities like wall-mounted flat-screen TVs, beach towels, showers and complimentary Wi-Fi access. Despite the spacious layouts, some guests say the accommodations could use a facelift. While the kids are busy at one of the resorts four kids clubs, parents can unwind by one of four pools (including one reserved exclusively for Zen Oasis guests) or with a massage at the Club Med Spa by L'Occitane. When family play time rolls around, sign up for trapeze or archery lessons, play tennis or take to the seas on complimentary kayaks or paddleboards. But remember, this all-inclusive property's rates do not cover select activities, such as kitesurfing, tubing and scuba diving. After a long day, sit down to family dinner at one of three on-site restaurants: buffet-style Hispaniola and Samana and the seafood-focused Indigo Beach Lounge. Travelers praise all three eateries, although some warn that service can be slow at times.

Occupying the southeastern corner of Martinique, the all-inclusive Club Med Buccaneer's Creek offers Club Med's signature luxury with a dose of Creole spirit. Facing Diamond Rock, the resort's guest rooms and suites neighbor a coconut grove and a white sand beach and feature amenities like minifridges, showers, free Wi-Fi access and flat-screen TVs. Let Club Med school you on proper scuba diving techniques or sign up for an island excursion (both for an additional fee). When you need a break, head to the property's PAYOT-affiliated spa for a body scrub or massage. Continue recuperating with the buffet at Le Pays Mélés or try L'Ô's traditional Creole dishes. There's also a buffet-style eatery for those who prefer a lot of cuisine options. Overall, recent guests said the resort deserves kudos for its bevy of activities. However, many bemoaned the outdated accommodations and their location on a crowded public beach. Others warned that the on-site cuisine is hit or miss.

Scuba divers will feel right at home at Club Med Columbus Isle. Because of its Atlantic coast location in the San Salvador archipelago of the Bahamas, this Club Med property attracts divers keen on seeing the region's abundance of healthy coral and underwater life. (Keep in mind, scuba diving is not covered by your all-inclusive package.) If you prefer to stay above the waves, the resort boasts plenty of complimentary activities, including sailing, windsurfing and tennis. A spa, a pool, three bars and two restaurants that serve fresh Bahamian fare are available as well. Inside the resort's accommodations, you'll find colonial-style decor, flat-screen TVs, coffee makers and balconies that overlook Bonefish Bay Beach. However, some past guests cautioned that their digs lacked adequate air conditioning and appeared worn and dirty.
