Nestled in the heart of the "Golden Triangle" in downtown Steel City, the Fairmont Pittsburgh is popular with Pirates fans since it's less than a mile walk from PNC Park. But there's a lot more to love about this hotel. Recent visitors particularly applaud the spacious guest rooms, appointed with plush duvets, large bathrooms, refreshment centers and flat-screen TVs. Guests also give major kudos to the uniquely Pittsburgh-esque exposed steel in the lobby – a nod to this city's main industry. The hotel's modern restaurant concept, Fl.2, opened in fall 2017. The eatery can accommodate more patrons and dishes out inventive takes on American and French classics. The only drawback, according to a few dissatisfied visitors, is having to pay for in-room internet access at this AccorHotels outpost. However, you can save on Wi-Fi fees (and rack up other perks) by signing up for the brand's loyalty program.

Despite its seat in the bustling Foggy Bottom district near George Washingtion University, the Fairmont Washington, D.C., Georgetown manages to exude a botanical atmosphere best showcased on its leafy hotel patio. And the hotel's "natural" appearance extends to its guest rooms, which are appointed with rich neutral hues and amenities like Italian marble bathrooms, floor-to-ceiling windows and flat-screen TVs. But it's the hotel's location – central to Georgetown, the Lincoln Memorial and even the Kennedy Center – that earns praise from recent visitors. The Fairmont also receives high marks for its exceptional customer service, with visitors saying that everyone was more than friendly, from the hospitable hotel concierge to the attentive wait staff at Juniper Restaurant and The Colonnade. However, luxury does have its price. If you're visiting in the busy spring season, do yourself a favor: Save a little money, and book at least two months in advance. You can also earn extra perks (like complimentary amenities) if you become a member of the AccorHotel loyalty program.

The Fairmont Chicago, Millennium Park can be found inside the Loop – close to both Millennium Park (of course) and the Magnificent Mile – in a place that makes it a convenient jumping-off point for sightseeing. A relatively recent revamp brought this AccorHotels property to the forefront of style, with the lobby and guest rooms now boasting contemporary furnishings and decor, like flat-screen HDTVs and marble bathrooms with separate tubs and showers. Although they're fond of this hotel's location and appearance, some guests said the rooms were on the small side and numerous visitors noted inconsistent customer service. Still, a stay here will grant you access to an 11,000-square-foot spa and a small fitness center, though spa treatments can be pricey. And when it comes to dining, the gastropub cuisine served at the in-house restaurant, Columbus Tap, a favorite among guests and locals alike.
