In 1981, Bill Kimpton rolled out the group's first hotel in San Francisco. Since then, the company has built a chain of leading boutique properties, including more than 60 stylish hotels in 35 cities; however in 2014, the InterContinental Hotels Group acquired the Kimpton brand. Members of the Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants brand are best described as urban and trendy, with fanciful decor and unique amenities, such as complimentary nightly wine hours and a 24-hour yoga TV channel. These accommodations also tout a brand-wide pet-friendly policy, catering to both urbanites and their four-legged travel companions, with pet packages and amenities that include gourmet pet treats, pet massages and more. Kimpton hotels also include the Palomar and Monaco styles; both welcome guests with trendy and stylish rooms and include whimsical decor and signature bath amenities. Plus, frequent Kimpton guests who participate in the IHG Rewards Club program can take advantage of free night credits and complimentary perks like minibar credits and room upgrades. Several Kimpton properties appear on our Best Hotels in the USA ranking list; those properties are listed below.

    Free WiFi

Set in Los Angeles' trendy West Hollywood neighborhood, the Kimpton La Peer Hotel opened in January 2018. The hotel's 105 rooms and suites feature cool, neutral tones of white, cream and gray with wooden accents. In-room amenities include minibars, free Wi-Fi access (for IHG Rewards Club members) and yoga mats, and select accommodations feature balconies, terraces or soaking tubs. Those interested in a bit more space (and additional amenities) should spring for a suite: Suites offer separate living areas and bedrooms, plus Nespresso machines, hardwood floors and sofa beds. Recent guests were particularly impressed with the modern, hip vibe of the accommodations and the hotel as a whole. The staff members received high praise from past travelers as well. Outside the rooms, visitors will find a heated outdoor pool and a fitness center. Plus, true to the Kimpton brand, the hotel welcomes pets for no additional fee. This Kimpton also offers unique experiences like privately drawn spa-inspired baths and in-room cocktail service. The hotel's dining option, Viale dei Romani, dishes out creative Italian meals. The only downside a few travelers noted was that a stay here is pricey. Part of the InterContinental Hotels Group, this property allows IHG Rewards Club members to rack up or redeem points for stays.

    Kimpton Hotel Wilshire
    Los Angeles, CA
    4-star HOTEL CLASS
TripAdvisor Traveler Rating 4 based on 788 reviewsTripAdvisor (788)

Located about a half mile from the Los Angeles County Museum of Art and the La Brea Tar Pits, the Kimpton Hotel Wilshire is a convenient place to rest your head close to Los Angeles' Miracle Mile. The Roof on Wilshire, the hotel's rooftop restaurant, offers panoramic views of L.A.'s skyline and the Hollywood Hills, not to mention new American cuisine produced by celebrity chef, Eric Greenspan. Inside each of the hotel's 74 rooms, you'll find LCD TVs, iPod docking stations and complimentary Wi-Fi access (for Kimpton Karma rewards members). Some guests say that though the lobby of this Kimpton brand property was quite posh, the rooms felt a little cramped and late-night noise was a problem. What's more, many visitors noted this property has great strides to make to meet the expectations of its Kimpton brand name.
