Resting high above the Las Vegas Strip, ARIA Sky Suites sits atop the ARIA Resort & Casino in the heart of Sin City. Attention to detail is a high priority at this hotel. A personal concierge is assigned to each Sky Suite, there are check-in and checkout areas separate from the ARIA Resort guests and, according to recent visitors, the service is unparalleled. As far as rooms go, you'll have the option of one- and two-bedroom suites or penthouses, and if you really want to splurge Sky Villas. These accommodations measure 3,370 square feet and include floor-to-ceiling panoramic windows with epic views of Las Vegas. All rooms come with separate living room and bedroom areas, flat-screen TVs and touch-screen consoles that control everything from the entertainment system to the blackout drapes. (Though a few tech-challenged reviewers said they found the controls a bit glitchy and difficult to work.) Outside the accommodations, visitors have access to a private pool, an art gallery and a lounge with free food and drink amenities, such as a daily wine and cheese pairing. Plus, guests have access to the amenities and facilities at the ARIA Resort, including its multiple restaurants and pools, the spa, the casino and nightlife options.

    Las Vegas, NV
    4.5-star HOTEL CLASS
TripAdvisor Traveler Rating 4.5 based on 4374 reviewsTripAdvisor (4374)

Formerly THE hotel at Mandalay Bay, the 1,117-room Delano Las Vegas is a trendy, all-suite hotel located at the southern end of the Las Vegas Strip. The Delano features a few restaurants, two upscale bars and 3940 Coffee and Tea. Many guests laud the Delano's spacious rooms, which feature floor-to-ceiling windows, minibars and MALIN+GOETZ bath amenities. The Delano only has a few on-site amenities, including the BATHHOUSE Spa, which offers 12 treatment rooms, and the Lounge, which boasts expansive windows overlooking the Strip from the top floor of the hotel. And while this Las Vegas retreat noticeably lacks a casino, guests of the Delano can walk to the connected Mandalay Bay, which features a casino, an 11-acre complex that contains pools, a shark aquarium and an artificial beach. With its laid-back vibes, the Delano is a calmer respite from the overstimulation found in other upscale hotels and resorts along the Las Vegas Strip.

Vdara Hotel & Spa at ARIA Las Vegas

    5-star HOTEL CLASS
TripAdvisor Traveler Rating 4.5 based on 18181 reviewsTripAdvisor (18181)
    Free WiFi

Located around the block from the Bellagio, this luxury hotel is a popular off-Strip oasis with a homier vibe. Travel aficionados love the convenience of kitchenettes, equipped with electric cooktops and minifridges in each unit. And the rooftop Pool & Lounge Vdara has a laid-back feel that recent visitors loved. Other places to dine on-site include the gourmet pastry and sandwich spot Market Café Vdara or in-suite dining from a diverse menu. Even more nightlife and dining options abound at ARIA, the sprawling, swanky property just a short walk from Vdara's main entryway. But a word of warning to the high rollers: The Vdara is a gaming-free property, so you'll have to venture to the Strip to get your gambling fix.

    The Signature at MGM Grand
    Las Vegas, NV
    4.5-star HOTEL CLASS
TripAdvisor Traveler Rating 4.5 based on 14135 reviewsTripAdvisor (14135)
    Free WiFi

A block and a half off the Strip, The Signature at MGM Grand is a bit of an odd duck compared to other Sin City properties. As a condo-hotel, The Signature's suites come with fully equipped kitchens and balconies overlooking the bustle below. Recent guests praised the rooms and cleanliness of the hotel and laud the quiet non-gaming and smoke-free environment. Just be sure to read the fine print: Although the property acts like a full-service hotel (and falls under the MGM Resorts brand), each suite is technically a condo that is handled by various management companies. So it's best that you understand the rental terms before you solidify your reservations.

    Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino

    4-star HOTEL CLASS
TripAdvisor Traveler Rating 4 based on 6734 reviewsTripAdvisor (6734)

Perched at the south end of the Strip, Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino overlooks the bustling Sin City. And when you want to explore Las Vegas further, there's a monorail system that will take you to other casinos nearby. Travelers give Mandalay Bay mixed reviews, though; some complain that there are too many kids at the pool and man-made beach (it's known as one of the most family-friendly hotels in town), but on the flip side others describe a relaxing ambiance at the poolside cabanas. Rooms feature spa tubs, floor-to-ceiling windows, 42-inch flat-screen TVs and iHome radios. If you're really hankering for a quieter atmosphere, you can book a room upstairs at the Four Seasons, which occupies the Mandalay Bay Tower's top five floors.

    The Mirage
    Las Vegas, NV
    4-star HOTEL CLASS
TripAdvisor Traveler Rating 4 based on 22441 reviewsTripAdvisor (22441)
    Free WiFi

Built in 1989, The Mirage was a big gamble for notorious hotelier Steve Wynn, with its cascading waterfalls, rainforest roughage, luscious lagoons and giant "active" volcano spread out across an unprecedented 102 acres. And although the hotel gets credit for the sheer breadth of commitment to the theme, traversing through the rainforest to get around can become tiresome after a while. The Mirage does have some of the nicest swimming holes in Las Vegas, though, from the oasis-like pool out back to the more private, adults-only Bare pool (Las Vegas code for topless) nestled around the corner. The popular Beatles-inspired LOVE Cirque du Soleil show finds its home here, as does one of the best casinos on the Strip. When you're ready to brave the crowds, you'll find The Mirage sandwiched between Treasure Island and The Forum Shops at Caesars Palace.

At the massive MGM Grand Hotel & Casino, bigger is better, even if it makes the floor plan confusing to navigate. Not that you really need to find your way to the door to leave, anyway: The MGM houses more than 5,000 rooms and suites, 15 restaurants and nine entertainment venues, including the popular Hakkasan Nightclub and Wet Republic Ultra Pool complex. Top entertainers include DJs Calvin Harris and Steve Aoki, and the acrobats of Cirque du Soleil's Kà. And despite its confusing and immense layout, the MGM still fares well with Vegas travelers  though they do recommend you pack a comfortable pair of shoes. You'll find this MGM Resorts property on the Strip, which participates in the brand's M life Rewards program, across the street from the New York - New York Hotel and Casino.

TripAdvisor Traveler Rating 4 based on 20430 reviewsTripAdvisor (20430)

The New York–New York Las Vegas Hotel & Casino is another one of Las Vegas' more popular themed hotels. Design elements like the cramped recreation of the Manhattan skyline, Ellis Island and the Statue of Liberty amp up the whimsy, while the roller coaster circling the property is just pure fun. The interior has undergone a "makeunder" (to tone down the kitsch-factor), but replicas of Greenwich Village (as a food court) and Big Apple Arcade still remain. Most recent travelers enjoyed the somewhat hectic replication of the Big Apple, but some complained about the underwhelming pool and dated rooms (compared to Vegas hotel standards). Even so, with an eclectic list of amenities (a casino, an Irish pub and a dueling piano bar, to name a few), New York–New York is an entertaining time. You'll find New York–New York across the street from the MGM Grand on the southern end of the Strip.
