    The Ritz-Carlton, Dallas
    Dallas, TX
    5-star HOTEL CLASS
TripAdvisor Traveler Rating 4.5 based on 945 reviewsTripAdvisor (945)

Located near the Museum of Art, the Dallas edition of the luxurious Ritz-Carlton brand goes beyond just offering many of the amenities you'd expect from a five-star hotel. For instance, this hotel boasts not just a pool, but a saline-treated rooftop pool; and not just facials and massages, but a 12,000-square-foot spa. But guests say that the rooms alone are worth The Ritz-Carlton, Dallas' high price tag. Spacious and elegant, these high-end digs come equipped with 400-thread-count linens and iPod docking stations, not to mention HD televisions and fully stocked minibars. If peanuts and cookies won't tide you over, make reservations at Fearing's Restaurant; previous visitors said that the eatery deserves its numerous accolades thanks to its gourmet American cuisine. But while most recent guests were satisified, a few say the service wasn't up to par for a Ritz property. Because of The Ritz-Carlton's affiliation with Marriott, member's of the company's loyalty program can trade in their rewards points for extra perks.

    The Adolphus, Autograph Collection
    Dallas, TX
    4-star HOTEL CLASS
TripAdvisor Traveler Rating 4.5 based on 2883 reviewsTripAdvisor (2883)

Everyone from Babe Ruth to Queen Elizabeth II has spent the night at The Adolphus, which was opened by beer tycoon Adolphus Busch in 1912. Close to the Neiman Marcus flagship store in Dallas' historic district, this hotel exudes elegance and charm and appeals to those looking for an old-timey yet still luxurious stay. The decor in the guest rooms is reminiscent of an English country estate, yet features flat-screen TVs, pillow-top mattresses and wet bars. However, the hotel's old-fashioned style doesn't sit well with every traveler: Some guests say The Adolphus feels a little shabby (and not in a chic way). But most visitors agree that the food served at The French Room restaurant is worth the rather high price tag, with some diners even saying that it's some of the best cuisine in the city. Plus, members of the Marriott Bonvoy program can earn and use points here.

Located about 14 miles north of downtown Dallas in Addison, Texas, this Marriott outpost offers easy access for sightseers and business travelers. Though the hotel's Addison address means travelers are a bit removed from the city's top tourist attractions, the property sits just minutes from the Galleria Dallas mall and is surrounded by a bevy of shops and restaurants. On-site, lodgers will find the Addison Grill, which serves eclectic, locally inspired cuisine, as well as a Starbucks. Other hotel facilities include a 24-hour fitness center and an outdoor pool. As far as accommodations go, guests say they found their lodgings to be clean, comfortable and spacious. Ranging from standard rooms to one-bedroom executive suites, all guest rooms include premium bedding and marble bathrooms as well as work desks, coffee makers, minifridges and flat-screen TVs. Dallas isn't all about Wild West round-ups and cowboy couture; for those of you looking to add a little cosmopolitan funk to your Texas getaway, consider hanging your hat at the W Dallas - Victory. Located a few blocks north of the historic district – near the Sixth Floor Museum and a block away from the AmericanAirlines Center – this hotel offers luxurious digs without sacrificing convenience. Following a $4 million renovation, the newly restyled guest rooms at this W hotel feature 32-inch LCD TVs, massive bathrooms (with rainfall showers), pillow-top mattresses and cozy linens. The rooftop infinity pool consistently earns high praise: Visitors rave about the spectacular views and the poolside food and beverage service. When you're craving more than snacks, head to Cook Hall for a contemporary take on classic pub food or The Living Room for light fare. Recent guests do warn that the lounge can be crowded and loud at night, and the noise can creep up into guest rooms. All 304 guest rooms at the Renaissance Dallas at Plano Legacy West offer modern furnishings, flat-screen TVs with Netflix, Wi-Fi access, plush bedding, Aveda bath products and floor-to-ceiling windows. This hotel in west Plano, Texas, welcomes a lot of business travelers, but vacationers will find plenty to love as well – including a heated outdoor pool, rooftop cabanas and 24-hour fitness center. If you'd like to dine on-site, pay a visit to the hotel's Asian-fusion restaurant, OMA, for breakfast, lunch or dinner. For lighter fare, take a seat at the Whiskey Moon bar, which serves up snacks and small plates like bao buns, in addition to craft cocktails and Texas and Japanese whiskeys. Recent visitors were impressed by the hotel's upscale design and its proximity to nearby shops and restaurants. Le Méridien Dallas, The Stoneleigh
    Dallas, TX
    4-star HOTEL CLASS
TripAdvisor Traveler Rating 4 based on 558 reviewsTripAdvisor (558)

More of a Dallas institution than a hotel, this 1920s Le Méridien gem just west of downtown is art deco in all the right places. Guest rooms are more toned down, with bright red and gray decor; meanwhile, common spaces like Graze Restaurant and its adjoining bar are more gung-ho about the early 20th-century theme, with red velvet and crystals playing lead roles in the design. Although its inspiration may be old-fashioned, Le Méridien Dallas, The Stoneleigh is up to date on its amenities: 42-inch flat-screen TVs, iPod docking stations and minibars along with a full-service spa can be found on the property. While recent guests appreciated the boutique feel and the recently renovated lobby, some say it's time for the rooms to receive a facelift. On a better note, because this hotel is part of the Marriott hotel family, Marriott Bonvoy members can earn and use points here.

Gaylord Texan Resort & Convention Center
    Grapevine, TX
    4-star HOTEL CLASS
TripAdvisor Traveler Rating 4 based on 4684 reviewsTripAdvisor (4684)

Overlooking Grapevine Lake (roughly 23 miles northwest of Dallas), the Gaylord Texan Resort & Convention Center is a destination unto itself. Inside, visitors will find a 25,000-square-foot spa, a fitness center, retail outlets and several restaurants. The highlight of the resort, however, is the pool complex: Recent guests say that their kids loved splashing in the lazy river and riding the waterslide. Guest rooms here aren't huge, but they're equipped with internet access and cable TV; most guests say that's all they need. On top of the nightly room rate, you should also be prepared to pay an additional resort fee for access to Gaylord's facilities. And because Gaylord Hotels is part of the Marriott family, loyal guests can earn and redeem Marriott Bonvoy points here.

    The Westin Dallas Park Central
    Dallas, TX
    4-star HOTEL CLASS
TripAdvisor Traveler Rating 4.5 based on 368 reviewsTripAdvisor (368)

Like most Westins, this Park Central hotel is comfortable and spacious, with guest rooms boasting cozy Heavenly Beds and spa-worthy bath amenities. However, if you're in town on vacation, recent guests recommend that you book elsewhere. The Westin Dallas Park Central's location in North Dallas (about 11 miles from downtown) is not the most convenient for tourists. Business travelers, on the other hand, should take a closer look at this property; the business center makes working on the road less of a hassle, while the Westin Dallas Park Central's 30 meeting rooms and its proximity to several industry headquarters make it an ideal convention location. If you're in town to do some spending, consider this Westin property for its proximity to both the NorthPark and The Galleria shopping centers. Although many visitors say that the guest rooms are outdated and in need of a deep cleaning, most note that the customer service here is top-notch. Plus, Marriott Bonvoy members can use points to cover the room rate.

    The Westin Dallas Downtown
    Dallas, TX
    4-star HOTEL CLASS
TripAdvisor Traveler Rating 4.5 based on 260 reviewsTripAdvisor (260)
    Free WiFi

Recent guests of The Westin Dallas Downtown raved about the top-notch service and the modern, comfy accommodations. Decorated in neutral tones with textured wallpaper and large windows, the spacious guest rooms are outfitted with flat-screen TVs, iPod docking stations, work desks and, in select rooms, river views (a worthy splurge, according to past visitors). Travelers were equally complimentary of this Westin's property amenities, including its large, 24-hour fitness center and its indoor heated pool, which offers panoramic Dallas views from its perch on the 32nd floor. However, reviews of the three on-site dining options were more mixed. While most agreed the restaurants provided attentive service, many felt the food quality was mediocre, especially given the high menu prices. Luckily, the hotel's downtown location provides easy access to many nearby restaurants. And because this hotel is part of the Marriott hotel family, Marriott Bonvoy members can earn and use points here.

The Westin Dallas Fort Worth Airport is ideal for early morning fliers and those in need of some shut-eye during a long layover. Guests love the on-site amenities – which include a rooftop pool and a fitness center – as well as a free airport shuttle and 24-hour room service. Guest rooms are fairly typical of a Westin property in terms of looks, but features like the brand's signature Heavenly Beds and dual shower heads feel luxurious to recent travelers in transit. The in-house BlueFire Grille's Southwestern cuisine is also a perk. Yet not all travelers were wowed by this hotel, citing noise from the nearby freeway and cleanliness issues as reasons to stay away. If you do decide to stay here, you can earn loyalty points (good for free nights and other perks) through the Marriott Bonvoy loyalty program.

The Worthington Renaissance Fort Worth Hotel
    Fort Worth, TX
    4-star HOTEL CLASS
TripAdvisor Traveler Rating 4 based on 1026 reviewsTripAdvisor (1026)

Overlooking Sundance Square in downtown Fort Worth, The Worthington Renaissance Fort Worth Hotel is a well-suited location for leisure travelers; it is close to downtown's restaurants and shops, while top sites like the Fort Worth Stockyards National Historic District and the National Cowgirl Museum and Hall of Fame are just a short drive away. However, recent guests warn that this convenience will cost you: Many guests complain of expensive parking fees and internet charges. But for some, the hotel's indoor pool, whirlpool and in-house eateries are worth the extra cost. Some guests complain that rooms are a little small for a hotel of this caliber, but the plush furniture and floral accents made up for it. Guests also suggest reserving a room with a private balcony overlooking main street if you can. Don't feel like paying extra for views? Take advantage of the floor-to-ceiling windows in BarWired while enjoying a cup of joe. And if you need a little more in your stomach, head to Vidalias for flavorful Southwestern fare. Because this is a Renaissance property, Marriott Bonvoy members can put their points towards a free night's stay or a room upgrade.

Less than 4 miles from central Dallas, the Renaissance Dallas Hotel gets mostly positive reviews from guests. It's easy to see why: Guest rooms are colorful and cozy, boasting amenities for work (like oversized desks) and pleasure (like flat-screen TVs). And outside the rooms, you'll find a glamorous rooftop pool and pool deck, a fitness center and a sauna. Hotel staff can also help you set up a tee time at the Tenison Highlands Golf Course, located roughly 8 miles away. Or, if you've got kids in tow, the Dallas World Aquarium and the Dallas Zoo are both within easy reach. When dinnertime rolls around, recent guests highly recommend dining at Asador, claiming that they've noticed a significant improvement in the cuisine over the past few years (and that the crab cakes are particularly tasty). North of Dallas and right off the North Dallas Tollway, Le Méridien Dallas by the Galleria is a great hotel pick if you're planning to partake in one of Dallas' favorite pastimes: shopping. The Galleria Dallas mall sits adjacent to the property and tempts fashionistas with everything from Gap to Godiva to Gucci. Business travelers will also enjoy staying at this Le Méridien thanks to the hotel's 24-hour business center and complimentary wireless internet access in common areas (fee applies to access it in your room). Recent guests love the look and feel of the rooms, which feature calm lavender decor with bright fuschia accents, signature beds, Frette linens and tech-friendly amenities, like 42-inch HDTVs, laptop safes and iPod docking stations. The eclectic menu and service staff at the on-site restaurant also earns a thumbs-up.
