Westin properties specialize in laid-back luxury, focusing on revitalization with signature amenities, such as the custom Heavenly Beds and SuperFoodsRx health-conscious menus. But that doesn't mean Westin guests won't get work done: Many properties belonging to this Marriott International brand feature ample meeting and conference space, as well as 24-hour business centers and high-speed internet access. Westin properties are known for their simplistic decor: Rooms are often spacious, uncluttered, dressed in neutral tones and equipped with flat-screen televisions, signature bath products and more. Plus, Westin guests can earn perks – including free nights – through the Marriott Rewards program. About 220 hotels and resorts across the globe sport the Westin name, many of which have earned a spot on our Best Hotels in the USABest Hotels in Mexico, Best Hotels in Europe and Best Hotels in Canada rankings lists (these properties appear below).

    The Westin Calgary
    Calgary, AB
    0.6 miles to city center
    4.0-star Hotel Class
Situated in the heart of downtown Calgary, this Westin impresses travelers with comfortable digs that are close to many of Calgary's top attractions. After a day of wandering around Stephen Avenue or ascending the Calgary Tower, rest your head on a Westin Heavenly Bed (which reviewers said lives up to its name). Guest rooms also feature high-speed internet access (for a fee), as well as views of the city, park or the Bow River. Plus, you can find stellar vistas of the surrounding mountains from the heated indoor pool. After a refreshing swim, head to the Westin's restaurant, Essence Bistro, for Canadian dishes. If you're craving surf and turf, try The Keg Steakhouse & Bar, or for a larger cocktail menu, the Liquid Lounge. While menu prices are admittedly steep, this Westin's Marriott ties can help Marriott Bonvoy members out with some of those costs.

    The Westin Calgary Airport
    Calgary, AB
    6.5 miles to city center
    4.0-star Hotel Class
Travelers in need of a massive meeting space will want to host their event at the Westin Calgary Airport. At just over 16,000 square feet, the Blackfoot Crossing Ballroom is the largest in Calgary and can host up to a 2,000 people for receptions. But the meeting spaces aren't the only draw for this hotel. This Westin property is located about 2 miles northwest of Calgary International Airport and offers a free shuttle to and from the hotel. However, if you're driving yourself, you'll find plenty of parking in the complimentary on-site lot. The hotel boasts 247 rooms, including 17 suites, which are all decorated with soothing earth tones, cool grays, and blue and mauve accents. Each room comes equipped with a sitting area, a desk, a flat-screen TV and a minifridge. One-bedroom suites feature larger sitting areas and separate showers along with jetted tubs. Unfortunately, Wi-Fi will cost you $8.95 CAD (around $7 USD) per day unless you're a Marriott Bonvoy member. When you're ready to break a sweat, stop by the 24-hour fitness center to train on one of the cardio machines or swim laps in the heated indoor pool. You can then refuel at 671 Kitchen + Bar which serves Canadian fare for breakfast, lunch and dinner. If you're in a pinch, grab coffee and a sandwich from 671 Grab and Go. Though guests applaud the quiet, clean accommodations, others say that they felt the customer service was lacking. Since this hotel is part of the Marriott family, Marriott Bonvoy members can redeem and accrue points here.
