Westin properties specialize in laid-back luxury, focusing on revitalization with signature amenities, such as the custom Heavenly Beds and SuperFoodsRx health-conscious menus. But that doesn't mean Westin guests won't get work done: Many properties belonging to this Marriott International brand feature ample meeting and conference space, as well as 24-hour business centers and high-speed internet access. Westin properties are known for their simplistic decor: Rooms are often spacious, uncluttered, dressed in neutral tones and equipped with flat-screen televisions, signature bath products and more. Plus, Westin guests can earn perks – including free nights – through the Marriott Rewards program. About 220 hotels and resorts across the globe sport the Westin name, many of which have earned a spot on our Best Hotels in the USABest Hotels in Mexico, Best Hotels in Europe and Best Hotels in Canada rankings lists (these properties appear below).

The Westin Dublin enjoys a prime location in the city center and boasts striking views of the famous Trinity College. The building, originally constructed as a 19th-century bank, anchors Westmoreland Street and sits among the many shops and restaurants of Dublin's entertainment district. Of course, the hotel is also close to numerous pubs, and it's less than a 10-minute walk from the popular Temple Bar. Additional nearby attractions within walking distance of this Westin include St. Patrick's Cathedral, Dublin Castle and Grafton Street. Inside, the Westin Dublin retains its Irish charm through dark wood features and leather furnishings. Each guest room boasts complimentary Wi-Fi access, a coffee machine, a LED TV and a marble bathroom. However, some guests felt their accommodations were outdated and could use an upgrade. Guests can make use of the hotel's nine meeting and event spaces as well as its 24-hour gym. This hotel also offers three dining options, satisfying an array of potential cravings. Morelands Grill Steakhouse serves seafood and locally sourced beef, and the Mint Bar features bartenders who concoct creative gin and tonics, among other beverages. Guests are also encouraged to gather in The Atrium Lounge, where booking a table means enjoying afternoon tea and sandwiches under a five-story glass atrium. And thanks to the hotel's Marriott ties, Marriott Bonvoy members can earn and use points here.

    The Westin Excelsior, Florence
    Florence
    0.5 miles to city center
TripAdvisor Traveler Rating 4.5 based on 1818 reviewsTripAdvisor (1818)

What was once the house of Carolina Bonaparte, the sister of Napoleon, is now The Westin Excelsior, Florence. This Westin outpost, lavishly decorated in the Florentine style of the Renaissance period, has 171 guest rooms and suites, a 24-hour fitness center, three restaurants, a bar and elegant meeting spaces. Services like laundry and valet parking can also be provided for an additional fee. All accommodations have the brand's signature Heavenly beds and bath products, plus flat-screen TVs, marble bathrooms, high ceilings and floor-to-ceiling windows. Upgraded rooms and suites boast hardwood floors, private balconies or terraces, outdoor Jacuzzis and views of the Arno River. Guests praise the property's exceptional staff and prime Florence location near numerous shops, restaurants and attractions. However, several recent travelers noted that the hotel's central location meant the area can be noisy. And while some suggested visiting the rooftop SE·STO on Arno for the restaurant's Mediterranean cuisine and wraparound views, others were frustrated with the eatery's limited table availability. To avoid this issue, consider reserving a table in advance. Because this hotel is part of the Marriott hotel family, Marriott Bonvoy members can earn and use points here.

    The Westin Palace, Madrid

TripAdvisor Traveler Rating 4.5 based on 4669 reviewsTripAdvisor (4669)
The Westin Palace, Madrid has enjoyed a spot in the center of Spain's capital city since 1912. The historic building sits on Madrid's Art Walk, a stretch of central art museums that includes the Prado, Reina Sofía and Thyssen-Bornemisza. The rich cultural experience continues inside the hotel, where travelers can savor dishes from three restaurants, which specialize in different cuisine. Additionally, the 1912 Museo Bar allows guests to sip Champagne out of the same glasses King Alfonso XIII once used and soak in the atmosphere of a bar previously visited by Ernest Hemingway and Salvador Dalí. Past guests enjoyed dining in La Rotonda, which offers a buffet breakfast or a la carte brunch and dinner under the light from the impressive stained-glass cupola. The hotel offers many lodging options, which range from standard rooms to suites. All accommodations include marble bathrooms, flat-screen TVs, lighted makeup mirrors and wireless internet access. However, guests must pay a fee for internet access (unless you're a Marriott Bonvoy member), and many were disappointed by weak Wi-Fi connection. The hotel also holds 20 meeting and event spaces and has a fitness facility open to guests 24 hours a day. What's more, guests can earn and redeem Marriott Bonvoy points at The Westin Palace, Madrid.
