    5-star HOTEL CLASS
TripAdvisor Traveler Rating 4.5 based on 362 reviewsTripAdvisor (362)
    Free Breakfast

This grouping of exclusive cottages can be found on the private island of Petit St. Vincent, roughly 4 miles southwest of Union Island. Built from local stone and wood, the resort's 22 cottages feature bright and airy decor, complete with fresh white, blue and green linens, stone walls and private wooden decks. When you're not lounging in your room or enjoying a massage at the Hillside Spa, you can take part in yoga classes, play a round of tennis or golf (the golf course is located on nearby Canouan Island) or set sail on the surrounding cerulean sea. After working up an appetite, past visitors recommend grabbing a bite to eat at the Beach Restaurant. Chairs are anchored into the sand, and meals are served under thatched roofs and palm trees. (If you prefer inside seating and heartier meals, you can also choose to dine at the Main Restaurant.) While recent guests gushed about the resort's beautiful grounds and attentive service, they also warned that if you're used to an all-inclusive Sandals-like experience, this isn't the retreat for you.

Palm Island Resort occupies a private island just off Union Island's eastern coast. Those staying in one of Palm Island's 43 guest rooms have access to five pristine beaches, numerous hiking and biking trails, a tennis court and a soothing spa. Guests bemoan the amount of effort it takes to get here, but say that the spacious island-themed guest rooms – complete with private terraces and spectacular views – and upscale amenities are worth the trek. If you start to get cabin fever on this small, secluded islet, the resort offers off-shore excursions to the nearby Tobago Cays. And after a long day on the water, retreat to the Royal Palm Restaurant and satiate your appetite with a serving of homemade clam chowder or pan-seared fish – two favorites among recent guests.

If you're looking for a tranquil beachfront getaway, you can't go wrong with the Bequia Beach Hotel, according to recent guests. Tucked away on Bequia, the second-largest island in the Grenadines, the property is surrounded by tropical gardens and its own private shoreline. Make the most of the hotel's beachfront perch with its complimentary nonmotorized water sports equipment, which includes kayaks, surfboards and snorkeling gear. Or, park yourself in a lounge chair by one of the property's two outdoor pools. Aside from the hotel's unbeatable location, its rooms also received a hefty amount of praise from past lodgers. Reviewers described rooms as spacious and well-equipped, with large bathrooms, furnished balconies or terraces and air conditioning. You'll also be able to admire the view from the hotel's main restaurant, Bagatelle, which offers beachside verandas to dine in while enjoying the eatery's Caribbean-influenced dishes. If you prefer Italian, consider dining at Blue Tropic. The dining venue sits on a hill and offers views of the hotel and the beach. Other available amenities include a fitness center and a spa. Plus, all rates cover in-room Wi-Fi access and bottled water, round-trip airport transfers (for stays lasting at least five nights), a weekly yoga class and daily breakfast. All-inclusive packages are available as well. But remember, the property closes annually from early September to mid-October.

This resort on the eastern shores of Canouan island – sister property to the Tamarind Beach Hotel – is lauded as one of the most luxurious properties in St. Vincent & the Grenadines. Guests attest that you won't find better customer service in the area. Meanwhile, visitors loved the on-site amenities, which include an 18-hole golf course (designed by respected course architect, Jim Fazio) and a full-service spa, which you can take advantage of while the little ones make friends at the Pjink Sands Kids Club. The Canouan Resort's villa-style accommodations are decked out in four-poster canopied beds, white linens and wooden accents; some villas even feature private pools. Guests here can take advantage of prime scuba-diving spots and guided excursions to nearby islands, or stay close to home and lounge on Canouan's sugary sands.
