    Le Pavillon Hotel
    New Orleans, LA
    1 mile to city center
TripAdvisor Traveler Rating 4 based on 3153 reviewsTripAdvisor (3153)
    Free WiFi
The standard rooms at Le Pavillon are like elegant works of art with handmade draperies, hand-carved armoires and plush linens. The deluxe rooms even have black marble bathrooms. But some guests say that it’s the lobby that is the real showpiece of this Central Business District property. There, you'll find plenty of fine art, lots of antique furniture and a beautiful Czechoslovakian crystal chandelier. Consider spending a few moments there in the evenings, when the staff hands out complimentary peanut butter and jelly sandwiches to its patrons on silver platters. Recent guests say they liked the French style of the hotel and the professional service, while others mentioned that they experienced reservation problems.

    Soniat House
    New Orleans, LA
    1.8 miles to city center
TripAdvisor Traveler Rating 4.5 based on 357 reviewsTripAdvisor (357)
    Free WiFi

Soniat House is an idyllic choice for couples — the decor practically screams "rendezvous," with its four-poster beds (only available in some rooms), its French and Italian antique furniture and its candlelit courtyards. Each of the 31 rooms and suites have Frette linens and Molton Brown toiletries; the free afternoon cocktails are pure class, and the breakfast served each morning (not free) is tasty. Plus, this hotel on Chartres Street is somewhat removed from the Big Easy hoopla. Travelers give kudos to the warm staff, but they also warn that if you're expecting convenient luxury, this may not be the NOLA home base for you. Recent guests say they flocked to the Soniat House knowing it would be more like an escape into the city's bygone era and therefore tolerated some of its flaws (no in-room coffee makers and a small, slow elevator) for the charming experience.

The Old No. 77 Hotel & Chandlery
    New Orleans, LA
    0.8 miles to city center
TripAdvisor Traveler Rating 4 based on 3127 reviewsTripAdvisor (3127)
    Free WiFi
Originally built as a warehouse in 1854, this boutique hotel is located just south of the infamous French Quarter in New Orleans. Its ideal location was a highlight for recent guests. Several visitors said they were able to walk to many of the Big Easy's top attractions, including the Louisiana Children's Museum and the French Quarter's jazz clubs and restaurants. If you'd rather explore the hotel's culinary offerings, you'll have two options. The Old No. 77 Hotel & Chandlery is home to Compère Lapin, a restaurant blending Caribbean and Gulf flavors, and Tout La, which offers fresh pastries, coffee and more. If you need to work off all those beignets, make use of the hotel's on-site fitness center. When it comes to accommodations, rooms feature exposed brick walls and neutral decor, plus free in-room Wi-Fi access, beds with pillow-top mattresses and Lather bath toiletries. However, previous guests found a few disappointments with their digs, noting that several rooms have no windows and that noise from Lafayette Street was a nuisance. Visitors were more impressed with the customer service at this property.

Renaissance New Orleans Pere Marquette French Quarter Area Hotel
    New Orleans, LA
    1.2 miles to city center
TripAdvisor Traveler Rating 4 based on 1492 reviewsTripAdvisor (1492)

If you can, book a corner room at the Renaissance New Orleans Pere Marquette French Quarter Area Hotel. Travelers say these seem more spacious than the other rooms, and, in many cases, they also provide better views. Not that you'll be cramped here: Marriotts are known for offering clean, spacious accommodations and fairly comfortable beds. Recent guests said this hotel delivered on service as well, as most visitors encountered friendly and helpful staff members during their stay. The surrounding Central Business District area is safe and also convenient to a lot of what makes New Orleans exciting. (The St. Louis Cathedral in the charming French Quarter and other top sites are all about a mile away.) Although some previous guests reported hit-or-miss housekeeping and restaurant services, many appreciated the spacious, comfortable rooms. And remember: If you're a Marriott Bonvoy member, you can earn or redeem points here for stay perks.

    International House New Orleans
    New Orleans, LA
    1 mile to city center
TripAdvisor Traveler Rating 4 based on 1297 reviewsTripAdvisor (1297)
    Free WiFi
New Orleans is a city that practically begs for you to stay in a boutique hotel. And perhaps the "boutique-iest" option is the International House. Previous guests say this Central Business District hotel is certainly a feast for the eyes, with architectural artifacts adorning the guest rooms and furnishings, linens and color palettes chosen by Los Angeles-based designer LM Pagno. All rooms are outfitted with flat-screen TVs, iHome stereos and Aveda toiletries. Along with the well-appointed rooms, the International House features the candlelit Loa bar, favored by guests for its inventive cocktails. But because this is a boutique hotel, it does come with some quirks, including no room service and the lack of an on-site restaurant.

    The Saint Hotel, Autograph Collection
    New Orleans, LA
    1.3 miles to city center
TripAdvisor Traveler Rating 4 based on 1481 reviewsTripAdvisor (1481)
    Free WiFi

The Saint Hotel offers guests a stylish place to hang their hats in the lively French Quarter. After taking in the sights and sounds of New Orleans, wind down with a cocktail in hand and live jazz performances at the Burgundy Bar, which lives up to its name with crimson walls and an atmosphere that's reminiscent of a speak-easy. And when hunger sets in, dive into some traditional Southern fare with a modern twist at Tempt restaurant. Some previous visitors do caution that this hotel may not be the right place for those traveling with children: The Saint Hotel caters to a more mature crowd and offers few family-focused perks. However, most visitors report a pleasant stay overall, praising the hotel's trendy atmosphere and genuine hospitality. When you're ready to hit the hay, you'll find your guest room appointed with a variety of amenities, including a flat-screen TV, free Wi-Fi access and spacious showers. An added bonus of choosing to stay at this Autograph Collection property: Since The Saint Hotel is a member of Marriott Hotels Group, members of Marriott's loyalty program can use points here or accrue points to redeem later for free stays.

W New Orleans - French Quarter
    New Orleans, LA
    1.3 miles to city center
TripAdvisor Traveler Rating 4 based on 1167 reviewsTripAdvisor (1167)
Surrounded by lots of shops and galleries and close to the excitement of Bourbon Street, the W New Orleans – French Quarter certainly has location in its favor. In addition to its prime locale and cushy brand perks like Bliss beauty products and concierge service, this hotel differentiates itself through its first class hospitality. Recent guests note that the front desk goes the extra mile to make lodgers feel at home. Along with the service-oriented staff, travelers also praise the restaurant and bar SoBou for its knowledgeable servers and varied menu of Louisiana street food-inspired small plates. As far as lodging goes, though, travelers cautioned that the rooms here are small. And because this hotel is part of the Marriott hotel family, Marriott Bonvoy members can earn and use points here.

    Royal Crescent Hotel
    New Orleans, LA
    1 mile to city center
TripAdvisor Traveler Rating 2 based on 52 reviewsTripAdvisor (52)
Travelers have trouble finding fault with this Omni branch on Gravier Street. Some of the most common praise includes the hotel's location about two blocks from Canal Street's serious shopping opportunities; the renovated rooms with comfortable, custom-made mattresses on the beds and satin hangers in the closets; and the delicious food at the "gourmet" burger restaurant called Dress It. They do advise against using the pricey valet parking for an already-pricey hotel stay. Recent lodgers recommend joining Omni's Select Guest program to earn perks like free Wi-Fi and a complimentary libation.
