If you want to fully embrace Miami's Cuban culture during your stay in the Magic City, reserve a room at Life House, Little Havana. This boutique property draws inspiration from its location in the city's Little Havana neighborhood: You'll find Cuban art, tropical colors, lush vegetation and rich wood accents throughout the hotel's public spaces and guest rooms. Standard rooms offer retro Marshall speakers, Le Labo toiletries and rain showers. The property fee, which is 8% of your room rate, also covers in-room Wi-Fi access. For a fun twist on your stay, consider upgrading to a larger Modern Double room or a Bohemian Suite. Each comes equipped with two double beds or four full beds arranged like contemporary bunk beds. When you're ready to venture outside your room, enjoy a light bite or drink in the courtyard cafe or curl up with a book in the library. Lots of hotels boast a secluded atmosphere, but this property goes the extra mile with its off-the-mainland address. And it goes without saying that this hotel's remote setting on Grove Isle in Miami makes it an ideal post for couples. The Palmeiras Beach Club at Grove Isle also pleases its guests with superb dining at its waterfront main restaurant and an array of facilities, including a spa, a fitness center, tennis courts, a cigar humidor, a salon and a swimming pool. Rooms are chock full of amenities as well, including four-poster canopy beds, Italian marble bathrooms and balconies overlooking the marina or bay, but many guests say they are in need of a renovation. You'll find the Palmeiras Beach Club about a 3-mile drive southwest of downtown Miami.
