Other amenities include a fitness center equipped with Peloton bikes and an on-site Starbucks. Recent guests appreciated the hotel's proximity to the famous Powell's Books, along with other popular Portland spots, but it's the customer service that leaves its mark. Recent visitors said the staff goes above and beyond to ensure guests are comfortable and well taken care of. Lodgers also enjoyed the on-site restaurant, Jake's Grill, that serves up steak and seafood, as well as the lobby bar, Jackknife, which is popular among hotel guests and local residents alike.

    Kimpton RiverPlace Hotel
    Portland, OR
    4.5-star Hotel Class
When you book a stay at the Kimpton RiverPlace Hotel, you can anticipate a picturesque view of Portland's Willamette River. And this hotel's amenities are pretty nice too: Flat-screen LCD TVs, in-room yoga mats and Atelier Bloem toiletries, to name just a few. While many hotels in the Kimpton brand attract trendier travelers with their bright, quirky decor, RiverPlace takes a different approach. Guest rooms are adorned in muted hues and earth-toned tiling, adopting a more naturalistic, cozy feel. Some other draws, according to recent visitors, are the hotel's on-site restaurant, King Tide Fish & Shell, and its excellent location. However, travelers caution that the attention to detail could stand to improve and that they expected more at a property of this caliber. Aside from the location, travelers praise the modern look and feel of this boutique property. The Hoxton Portland
    Portland, OR
    • Free WiFi

    4.0-star Hotel Class
    • Free WiFi

The Hoxton Portland is a superb place to stay if you're seeking a hip, boutique hotel experience and if you're also the kind of traveler who doesn't mind a little compromise. As such, not all visitors meshed well with this hotel's personality and its offerings. In one corner, there were guests who ate up the experience, praising the hotel's perfectly designed interiors and efficient use of space – including a lobby that doubles as a work area, an in-house speakeasy, and a rooftop taqueria and bar. In the other corner, some lodgers were bothered by the small rooms, found the experience to be overpriced and wished the hotel was in a better neighborhood. While the Hoxton is centrally located in Portland's Chinatown neighborhood, some complained the surrounding area felt seedy and warned it was home to a small homeless population. Accommodations here are unique for being unconventionally small – the largest room options barely reach 300 square feet in size. Every accommodation comes with a free light breakfast bag, free Wi-Fi access and bathrooms with rainfall shower heads. There is a restaurant on-site, Lovely Rita, which serves Pacific Northwest-inspired dishes all day. As for the service, guests were pleased with the friendly staff and appreciated the great local recommendations they received.
