The Yeatman hotel is popular with wine connoisseurs, thanks in part to the property's impressive collection of top Portuguese wines and wine-centric events like tastings, seminars and wine dinners. The property's individually decorated guest rooms and suites come with private balconies or terraces, beds dressed in Egyptian cotton sheets, bathrooms with separate showers and deep soaking tubs, minibars, free Wi-Fi access and LCD televisions. Select suites feature wine-related details like oak barrel beds and photos of local wineries. When you get hungry, recent guests suggested dining at the on-site Michelin-starred restaurant to sample some of the area's seafood and regional specialties. And while some visitors appreciated that there are two on-site infinity pools (one of which sits outside and is shaped like a wine decanter), others weren't impressed with the size of the pools and thought that the hotel should offer chairside towel service. You can find this pet-friendly hotel across the Douro River from downtown Porto. - View all PhotosHotel Acta The AvenuePorto4.0-star Hotel Class4.0-star Hotel ClassRecent guests loved staying at Hotel Acta The Avenue in Porto, Portugal, thanks to the property's hospitable staff, tasty breakfasts and clean accommodations. All rooms and suites offer contemporary decor in white, blue and gray hues and come equipped with minibars, coffee makers, desks, wall-mounted TVs and free Wi-Fi access. However, standard rooms measure less than 240 square feet, so travelers who desire more space may want to upgrade to a superior room or a suite. Outside the rooms, visitors will find a lobby with loaner computers, a ground-floor restaurant that serves breakfast and bar bites, and a sixth-floor terrace with hammocks and a snack bar. Parking is also available on-site, though charges apply. When guests are ready to venture off-site, they can catch a match at the nearby Estádio do Dragão (where the Porto soccer team plays). Or, they can hop on the city's metro – the closest station is 24 de Agosto, a 5-minute walk south of the hotel – and head to downtown Porto, where can't-miss attractions like the Dom Luís I Bridge and the Porto Cathedral reside.
