Nestled in Bretton Woods, New Hampshire, approximately 160 miles north of Boston, the Omni Mount Washington Resort offers ample amenities and a sophisticated setting. The property houses a 25,000-square-foot spa and a nine-hole and an 18-hole golf course, not to mention treetop zip lines that allow for canopy tours of Bretton Woods (led by adventure guides). Meanwhile, previous visitors praise the large guest rooms, which feature flat-screen TVs, marble bathrooms and, in some cases, gas fireplaces. For a little extra relaxation, book a replenishing massage or body treatment at The Spa: travelers say the services are worth the steep price tags. As far as eating goes, this Omni resort boasts two on-site dining venues — the main dining room and Stickney's Restaurant — that both earn high praise for tasty cuisine (though some guests do describe the waitstaff as inattentive). The staff throughout the rest of the hotel, however, receives rave reviews for being warm and inviting. If you are a member of the Omni Select Guest loyalty program, you can enjoy perks, such as complimentary Wi-Fi access and free shoe shines.Bretton Woods, NHTripAdvisor (4280)4.0-star Hotel ClassFree ParkingFree WiFi

Originally built in 1892 as a home for elderly women in downtown Concord, New Hampshire, this historic mansion has been completely transformed into a modern boutique hotel. Its well-preserved Victorian-era architecture, including turrets flagging the front door, is just one reason guests choose to bed down here. Inside, most guests find the 32 rooms charming thanks to their combination of vintage and contemporary decor. Each guest room features boutique furniture pieces, 300-thread-count linens, complimentary high-speed internet access and a 32-inch flat-screen TV. Some guests weren't pleased with how small the standard rooms were, but those who splurged on the third-floor suites appreciated the additional space and private porches overlooking Pleasant Street. Some travelers also complained of noise and said the hotel could stand to step up in the cleanliness department. However, the best part of the hotel, according to recent guests, is the Granite Restaurant & Bar. The restaurant receives high marks for its New American cuisine.Concord, NHTripAdvisor (376)4.0-star Hotel ClassFree ParkingFree WiFi
