    The Westin Bayshore, Vancouver
    Vancouver, CA
    4-star HOTEL CLASS
TripAdvisor Traveler Rating 4.5 based on 3800 reviewsTripAdvisor (3800)

Sitting pretty in the Vancouver's Coal Harbour neighborhood (less than a mile southeast of Stanley Park), The Westin Bayshore prides itself on its sophisticated ambiance. Accommodations are outfitted with the brand's signature Heavenly beds and sliding glass doors that showcase views of the harbor, Stanley Park or the city skyline. When you're not relaxing in your room, check out the property's two pools (one indoors and one located outside). Tucked into the lush, well-maintained grounds, the outdoor pool boasts panoramic views of the North Shore Mountains. For more pampering, book a treatment at the Vida Spa Vancouver or grab cocktails at the Seawall Bar & Grill. But plan to skip the breakfast buffet (which some past visitors say is overpriced) in lieu of the neighborhood's more reasonably priced fare. If you're a coffee drinker, be sure to swing by the Starbucks located in the hotel lobby. And because this hotel is part of the Marriott hotel family, Marriott Bonvoy members can earn and use points here.

    Hyatt Regency Vancouver

TripAdvisor Traveler Rating 4.5 based on 4307 reviewsTripAdvisor (4307)
    Free WiFi

Centrally located on the northern edge of downtown, just a few blocks from the Coal Harbour waterfront, the Hyatt Regency Vancouver offers a well-situated locale for cruise ship passengers, sightseers and business travelers. Along with the neighborhood, visitors also praise the well-designed rooms, which feature floor-to-ceiling windows, iPod docking stations, small refrigerators and consistently lauded Hyatt Grand beds. But visitors do offer one gripe: the hotel's steep parking rates (about $27 USD per day). If you're a Hyatt Gold Passport member, you may save on fees. You can also opt into the hotel's Park and Stay special for free parking. But with an abundance of dining choices and attractions within walking distance, recent guests say it's easy to navigate the city on foot. If you would rather linger back at the hotel, you can satiate your appetite at the Mosaic Grille restaurant or savor a cocktail at Grain Tasting Bar. On the go? You can get your caffeine fix at the hotel, too — there's a Starbucks in the lobby. Guests also recommend sticking around the Hyatt for the heated outdoor pool, which they say offers a relaxing respite from the downtown hubbub.

Often characterized as "cozy," "comfortable" and "charming" by visitors, the hotel earns high marks for its prime location and friendly staff. Situated on Hornby Street — two blocks north of the Vancouver Art Gallery — the Executive Hotel LeSoleil puts guests within walking distance of Robson Street, the city's well-known shopping strip. The international influences don't stop with the rooms: The on-site Cooper Chimney Restaurant & Bar offers contemporary Indian cuisine. Georgian Court Hotel
    Vancouver
    4-star HOTEL CLASS
TripAdvisor Traveler Rating 4.5 based on 3089 reviewsTripAdvisor (3089)
    Free WiFi

Sitting directly across the street from BC Place (Vancouver's multipurpose arena), The Georgian Court Hotel offers a convenient home base for event attendees. However, if you're not in town for a game or concert, previous guests say the hotel's location — at the (slightly dodgy) south end of Robson Street — can be a hurdle come nightfall. Location aside, guests describe the accommodations as spacious and well-appointed with minifridges, flat-screen TVs, complimentary Wi-Fi access and Aveda bath amenities. Female travelers should consider booking a room on the women-only Orchid Floor. Accommodations on this floor come equipped with extra amenities (free of charge) like a curling iron in the bathroom, upgraded Aveda products, a yoga mat and magazines like InStyle. When your stomach starts to rumble, you'll find plenty of restaurants on Robson Street (not to mention a string of chic shops). But if you would rather dine on-site, guests recommend grabbing a table at Frankie's Italian Kitchen or sampling smaller bites at Frankie's Bar. Though the menus lean toward the pricey side, travelers say Frankie's masters its Italian dishes.
