Rising above Caravelle Beach's picturesque shoreline near the Grande-Terre town of Sainte-Anne, Guadeloupe, Club Med Caravelle offers guests an all-inclusive retreat with primo beach access. But there's plenty more to do besides laze on powdery sands (although most visitors agree that lounging is a very pleasant way to spend the day). You'll have access to a wide array of outdoor activities at this Club Med outpost: everything from tennis to archery to trapeze lessons. Then, cool down with a dip in one of two pools or ocean while your youngsters take part in the resort's kids-oriented clubs. At the end of the day, enjoy a family dinner in one of the swanky restaurants: The Hibiscus and Allamanda Beach Lounge. Both serve a mix of Caribbean classics and international staples either buffet-style or a la carte. After, retreat to your guest room or suite, where you'll find plush white bedding, teal and orange or green accent linens, tea kettles, showers and flat-screen TVs. Although several reviewers note that some of the property's accommodations are a bit dated, the resort is currently undergoing renovations (which it anticipates finishing in late 2020) to update every room and suite. - View all PhotosLa CocoteraieSaint Francois4.0-star Hotel Class4.0-star Hotel Class

All 52 La Cocoteraie suites, tucked inside a single-story bungalow, offer sweeping garden, pool or Caribbean Sea views. Embracing Colonial-style elegance, each guest room boasts a hexagonal-shaped raised bath, private balcony and tropical decor along with modern amenities, such as a satellite television and minibar. And the high-end amenities don't stop at the guest rooms. Visitors have access to an 18-hole golf course designed by Robert Trent Jones, a freshwater swimming pool and a private white-sand beach fringing neighboring town Saint-François. Despite La Cocoteraie's lovely surroundings and sophisticated ambiance, some recent visitors report an unsatisfactory stay due to the resort's inattentive staff. Still, others give the restaurant wait staff high marks. When you need a break from soaking up the sun, savor an intimate dinner at La Varangue or grab a tropical cocktail at Indigo Bar. Just be aware that most locals and staff only speak French. La Cocoteraie sits a little more than 20 miles from Guadeloupe's main airport, on the island's southeastern coast. - View all PhotosHotel Eden PalmSainte-Anne4.0-star Hotel Class4.0-star Hotel Class

Just a half mile from Sainte-Anne's sands, Hotel Eden Palm's greatest assets are its easy beach access and its utter seclusion. There are four types of accommodations available: Eden Luxe Suites, Suites, Junior Privilège and Bungalows. Eden Luxe suites are accented with warm yellow walls and tropical plants, and come with their own balcony and Jacuzzi; meanwhile, bungalows tout a private terrace and tropical-inspired decor. Previous guests call the rooms spacious and clean, but note the walk to the beach takes longer than advertised. Regardless of whether you decide to venture to the shore, be sure to try the French-Creole dish at the on-site restaurant. Should you desire some nightly entertainment, you can enjoy evening shows right at the hotel, though some guests were not impressed by what they describe as lackluster performances. Most guests reported a satisfying experience, but some complained of housekeeping problems.
