    Free WiFi
The northeastern Florida seaside community of Ponte Vedra Beach – due southeast of Jacksonville – is known for its super-luxe resorts. And like its sister property, The Lodge & Club at Ponte Vedra Beach, the Ponte Vedra Inn & Club gets kudos for its attentive staff and choice amenities. Accommodations here are spacious and come equipped with conveniences like coffee makers, flat-screen TVs and high-speed wireless internet access (which the $29 daily resort fee covers). When you feel hunger pangs coming on, you can sit down to dinner at the Seahorse Grille, which serves up fresh seafood alongside spectacular ocean views. The Ponte Vedra Inn also has a pastry chef on staff who makes homemade ice cream, which is served in the bistro-style Gourmet Shop. And for a hearty serving of R&R, guests recommend spending time at the 30,000-square-foot spa. However, for many guests, it's the Ponte Vedra Inn & Club's customer service that makes them want to come back. Travelers describe the staff here as superb.

Sitting on the shores of the Gulf of Mexico about halfway between Destin and Panama City Beach, Florida, Santa Rosa Beach's WaterColor Inn will especially appeal to families. It has decent room rates to facilitate group travel, plus lots of amenities for keeping kids busy, such as four pools, a lazy river and a kids day camp. The property's $45 daily resort fee also covers bike, kayak and canoe rentals. However, The Gathering Spot and Fish Out of Water restaurants are best suited for romance thanks to their waterfront atmospheres. Recent guests appreciated the intimate feel of this resort, which only has 60 rooms, and said that the limited number of accommodations means you can bask in more personal attention from the hospitality staff. Accommodations here feature a variety of modern comforts, including free Wi-Fi access, flat-screen TVs with DVD players, walk-in showers and Keurig coffee makers. Plus, each offers a balcony or patio that overlooks the Gulf of Mexico.

Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa
    Lake Buena Vista, FL
TripAdvisor Traveler Rating 4.5 based on 4927 reviewsTripAdvisor (4927)
    Free Parking
    Free WiFi
Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa in Orlando, Florida, is as opulent as it gets when it comes to Walt Disney World accommodations. The Victorian era is revived in the decor found in the five-story lobby – complete with an open-cage elevator and magnificent chandeliers – and the plush guest rooms. Lodging options here come equipped with amenities like flat-screen TVs, minifridges and complimentary Wi-Fi access; however, some travelers say the rooms in Disney's flagship resort are beginning to feel a bit tired. And though the Grand Floridian is kid-friendly with loads of activities, the posh resort is the best bet for couples looking for a quieter place to stay near the parks. Extras like afternoon high tea and daily piano performances in the lobby lend an elegant tone, but there are still fun perks like character breakfasts for the kids. (Youngsters can also transform into Disney princesses or knights at the property's Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique.) Another perk about staying at the Grand Floridian: having an on-site monorail station that is just one stop away from the Magic Kingdom.

After you've gotten your fill of complimentary wine and snacks at the daily happy hour, head to the on-site restaurant – Ambrosia – for some Japanese eats. Located off the coast of Sarasota, Florida, on a narrow strip of land sandwiched between Sarasota Bay and the Gulf of Mexico, toasty Longboat Key is often thought of as a wintertime hideaway. And snowbirds aren't the only ones who can appreciate the appeal of the area's Resort at Longboat Key Club. The gigantic property boasts a private cream-colored shore, 45 holes of golf, 20 Har-Tru tennis courts, a spa and a variety of other ways to indulge. Those who vacationed here recently were more than impressed with the friendly and efficient staff. Past guests also raved about the abundance of luxurious amenities. (But remember, two restaurants, the main pool, the lobby and select guest room buildings are undergoing renovations until early 2020.) Guest rooms and suites that are currently available to stay in are dressed in cream and blue hues and come with top-notch amenities like 42-inch flat-screen TVs, Bose Wave radios, minibars and furnished private balconies that overlook the beach, lagoon or golf courses. Keep in mind, a $24 to $36 daily resort fee, which covers additional conveniences like in-room Wi-Fi access, area shuttle service and self-parking, applies. TripAdvisor Traveler Rating 4.5 based on 7738 reviewsTripAdvisor (7738)
    Free Parking
    Free WiFi
Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge in Orlando, Florida, is one of the more unique Walt Disney World properties. No, it's not the lobby's thatched roof and the chandeliers made out of warrior shield reproductions – although the decor is worth noting – it's the four savannas right outside your door. The resort is set up in a kraal design (a semi-circular shape that's common in Africa) with balconies overlooking wild grasslands, making it all the better for you to see the ostriches, giraffes and zebras that roam the grounds. Guest rooms are pretty standard. Aside from decorative touches like carved wood furnishings and fabrics inspired by Kente cloth, you'll find all the usual makings of a high-end hotel, including complimentary Wi-Fi access, floor-to-ceiling windows, minifridges and coffee makers. Meanwhile, the downstairs Boma – Flavors of Africa restaurant is highly regarded for its creative cuisine. And when you're not enjoying the park, guests recommend making use of the on-site pools and playground. As its name suggests, you can find this Disney-affiliated resort in the Animal Kingdom area of Walt Disney World.

This Mediterranean-themed, boutique hotel in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida – which sits 23 miles southeast of Jacksonville and 25 miles north of St. Augustine – wows both romancing couples and young families. Several guests praise the relaxing vibe and the personal attention they receive from the staff members, while others rave about the oceanfront rooms, which feature private terraces or patios and marble bathrooms. But don't let other travelers tell you what to think. Consider The Lodge & Club at Ponte Vedra Beach's heated swimming pools and scrumptious cuisine at the three restaurants – then form your own conclusions. One thing to consider, though, is that space here is fairly limited. A $29 daily resort fee also applies. If you're looking for more room to spread out, opt to stay at The Lodge's sister property, the Ponte Vedra Inn & Club. It's located right down the road.

Disney's Yacht Club Resort is Disney Beach Club Resort's ritzier sister property; the two share a stretch of land along the shores of the lake near Walt Disney World. The stylish Yacht Club Resort echoes the upscale feel of Martha's Vineyard and Nantucket, Massachusetts, complete with dark wood accents and leather furniture; meanwhile, rooms have wooden and white furnishings, plus white, tan, brown and navy color schemes. Accommodations here also feature complimentary Wi-Fi access, flat-screen TVs and minifridges. This Disney outpost definitely has a more adult vibe than the neighboring Beach Club, but children should feel welcome thanks to the kid-friendly pool, an on-site arcade and the nearby Fantasia mini-golf course. On-site restaurants, particularly the Yachtsman Steakhouse, come highly recommended by previous visitors, though some suggest making early reservations to ensure you get a table. Aside from the amenities, it is the Yacht Club's convenient location that has many recent guests gushing. You can either walk or take a boat to Epcot. However, all of these amenities and services come at a price some say is too high.

Previous guests, from families to couples to business travelers, describe the resort – which is tucked onto Orlando's North Jacaranda Street – as a gem. Rooms here feature spacious bathrooms with separate bathtubs and glass-enclosed showers, flat-screen TVs, Keurig coffee makers and high-speed internet access. What's more, the villas come with a pretty sweet view; private patios or decks face either the nearby waterways or the resort's fairways. Speaking of greens, the Villas of Grand Cypress boasts 45 holes designed by Jack Nicklaus to conquer. The resort also prides itself on being family-friendly. Outdoor activities found on-site include a pool and several biking trails. Tennis courts, a rock climbing wall, a miniature golf course, a pool with a waterslide and a game room can also be enjoyed at the resort's sister property, the Hyatt Regency Grand Cypress. What's more, on-site The Clubhouse serves delectable cuisine for breakfast, lunch and dinner. But there's a catch: A stay at the Villas of Grand Cypress doesn't come cheap.

If you have a hankering for nostalgia, consider booking a stay at this landmark property. Either way, travelers are blown away by the beautiful European aesthetic of the hotel. Rooms carry on the luxurious theme of the hotel flawlessly, offering guests 340-thread-count Egyptian bedding and oversized picture windows with views of the pool, golf course or surrounding neighborhood. The $22 daily resort fee also covers additional perks like Wi-Fi access and self-parking. And amenities like the posh Palme d'Or restaurant and the 18-hole Biltmore Golf Course are just too good to think otherwise. Set on Walt Disney World's northwest side, Disney's Polynesian Village Resort features a South Pacific theme: Koi ponds are scattered throughout the grounds, and palm trees support hammocks (and reposing guests) along a stretch of the lagoon's beachfront. The long and narrow buildings have thatched roofs and torch-lit walkways, while the guest rooms are done up in brown and green hues. However, some recent guests comment that the decor makes guest rooms feel a bit dark at night. Meanwhile, others aren't sure if this hotel is worth its high room rates. Still, most praise the Polynesian for its monorail station (which makes it a great home base for exploring the parks), as well as its popular Spirit of Aloha Dinner Show. And visitors with kids say that the Lava Pool (complete with a 142-foot-long waterslide) is a big hit with the little ones. For a little more serenity, head to the Oasis Pool. This tiny hotel on Fleming Street in Key West, Florida, beckons to travelers who don't have young kids. In fact, you have to be at least 14 years of age to stay at The Marquesa Hotel. With one look at the amenities list and restaurant menu items, you'll get a sense of that mature vibe – in other words, don't expect to see any chicken nuggets or hot dogs. Instead, sample Café Marquesa's diver sea scallops or roasted duck breast. The rooms are smaller than what you might expect from a luxury hotel, but they're quiet and dressed in soft hues, with tile or hardwood floors. Just be aware that the hotel does not have an elevator, so some guests suggest requesting a room on one of the lower floors (or packing light). Disney's Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa is definitely eye-catching. Situated along Walt Disney World Resort's Village Lake, this resort looks as though it stepped out of New York's Saratoga Springs area in the late 1800s, when the regenerative springs and horse racing made that town all the rage. But more importantly than looks, recent guests adore the first-rate, personalized customer service they received starting from the moment they checked in. The rooms also earn high praise, especially from larger family groups who appreciate the amount of space each accommodation affords. A consistent guest favorite are the Treehouse Villas, which sit suspended off the ground in a wooden grove. And regardless of whether you choose a studio, a one- or two-bedroom villa or a Treehouse Villa, you can count on staples like minifridges and coffee makers, as well as complimentary Wi-Fi access and Victorian-inspired touches, such as patchwork quilts. Keep in mind that this is one of the few Disney properties that isn't within walking distance of any Walt Disney World sites; still, guests praise the complimentary bus transfers, which run between the resort and the Disney theme parks. Other guest-praised amenities include the High Rock Spring Pool and Disney's Lake Buena Vista Golf Course.

Although the resort is located a couple miles from the center of the city, many guests love the secluded feel that the cottage-style accommodations and lush manicured grounds create. Along with a quiet atmosphere, this 148-room waterfront resort boasts four swimming pools and various on-site aquatic activities, such as snorkeling, kayaking and paddleboarding. And the Caribbean-inspired rooms, which the hotel finished renovating in 2019, aren't too shabby either. Recent guests say the rooms are comfortable and well-maintained, and all rooms are appointed with flat-screen TVs, minifridges and terraces, balconies or porches. Despite the amenities, some guests were disappointed that the downtown shuttle stops operating at 6:10 p.m. Others, however, say downtown Key West can easily be reached on foot or via one of the resort's convenient bike rentals. One advisory: Read the fine print before booking, as some guests were unaware of the extra fees associated with staying at the resort.
