The northeastern Florida seaside community of Ponte Vedra Beach – due southeast of Jacksonville – is known for its super-luxe resorts. And like its sister property, The Lodge & Club at Ponte Vedra Beach, Ponte Vedra Inn & Club gets kudos for its attentive staff and choice amenities. Accommodations here are spacious and come equipped with conveniences like coffee makers, flat-screen TVs and high-speed wireless internet access (which the $29 daily resort fee covers). When you feel hunger pangs coming on, you can sit down to dinner at the Seahorse Grille, which serves up fresh seafood alongside spectacular ocean views. Ponte Vedra Inn also has a pastry chef on staff who makes homemade ice cream, which is served in the bistro-style Gourmet Shop. And for a hearty serving of R&R, guests recommend spending time at the 30,000-square-foot spa. However, for many guests, it's Ponte Vedra Inn & Club's customer service that makes them want to come back. Travelers describe the staff here as superb. - View all PhotosThe Lodge & Club at Ponte Vedra BeachPonte Vedra Beach, FL18.7 miles to city center$29 Nightly Resort Fee4.5-star Hotel Class4.5-star Hotel Class$29 Nightly Resort Fee

This Mediterranean-themed, boutique hotel in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida – which sits 23 miles southeast of Jacksonville and 25 miles north of St. Augustine – wows both romancing couples and young families. Several guests praise the relaxing vibe and the personal attention they receive from the staff members, while others rave about the oceanfront rooms, which feature private terraces or balconies and marble bathrooms. But don't let other travelers tell you what to think. Consider The Lodge & Club at Ponte Vedra Beach's heated swimming pools and scrumptious cuisine at the three restaurants – then form your own conclusions. One thing to consider, though, is that space here is fairly limited. A $29 daily resort fee also applies. If you're looking for more room to spread out, opt to stay at The Lodge's sister property, Ponte Vedra Inn & Club. It's located right down the road. - View all PhotosThe Villas of Amelia Island PlantationFernandina Beach , FL4.0-star Hotel Class4.0-star Hotel Class

Located on Amelia Island (about 35 miles northeast of Jacksonville), this resort's villas each offer lush views of the surrounding trees, the golf course or the ocean. And the accommodations are large enough (offered as studios and one-, two- and three-bedroom units) to room at least four vacationers, making this a great option for families. Guests love the plethora of activites available to travelers of all ages. Kids can make new friends in the Camp Amelia program while parents play a round on one of three golf courses. There are also 23 fast-dry clay tennis courts, nature programs, bike rentals and yoga classes at the fitness facility. If you prefer to do things as a family, sign up for a Segway tour of the island. And like any Florida resort worth its salt, The Villas of Amelia Island Plantation boasts a variety of restaurants. You'll find this Omni-affiliated property centrally positioned on the island between the ocean and A1A. - View all PhotosSawgrass Marriott Golf Resort & SpaPonte Vedra Beach, FL4.0-star Hotel Class4.0-star Hotel Class

Sawgrass Marriott Golf Resort & Spa's main allure is its two championship golf courses, so if you're not a fan of the links, this may not be the Ponte Vedra Beach haven for you. Golf aficionados can perfect their swing at the two 18-hole golf courses: Dye's Valley Course and The Stadium Course. Sawgrass Marriott Golf Resort also offers a 25,000-square-foot luxury spa for guests more interested in pampering than putting. Hop on the free shuttle bus for a day at the Cabana Beach Club or stick around the property and cool off in one of the three outdoor pools. (Another can also be found at the Cabana Beach Club.) Previous guests are fond of this Marriott resort for its wealth of offerings, but despite the property's ample golf and spa space and immaculately manicured grounds, some recent guests said the accommodations could benefit from a facelift. Still, rooms and suites here come equipped with minifridges and flat-screen LCD TVs. And previous visitors describe the resort's staff as "pleasant" and "attentive." You'll find this Ponte Vedra Beach resort about 35 southwest of Jacksonville International Airport. If you're a Marriott Bonvoy member, you can also enjoy collecting or cashing in reward points and perks here.
