    • Free WiFi

If you're in Orlando for Walt Disney World's Magic Kingdom, then this North World Drive resort could be one of your best lodging options. According to recent guests, it's Disney's Contemporary Resort's proximity to top Disney sights that are the real clinchers for booking a stay. And while families praise the resort's location, business travelers appreciate it's 115,000-square-foot convention center and business center. The resort has well-appointed and varied accommodation options, where rooms offer everything from garden views to lake panoramas and theme park vistas (be sure to specify your view wishes before booking your room). All guest rooms and suites feature complimentary Wi-Fi, coffee makers and minifridges. And as with other Disney resorts, you'll find plenty of dining and recreation options on-site, including the popular California Grill. If you're here with kids, don't miss out on the opportunity to enjoy an all-you-can-eat buffet meal with your favorite Disney characters at Chef Mickey's.

    • Free WiFi

Disney's BoardWalk Inn is essentially a recreation of the old Atlantic City in the heart of Orlando, Florida's Walt Disney World resort complex. Older families and young couples love the boardwalk and awesome view of nearby Epcot's nightly fireworks displays. But fair warning: The surrounding area's activity does continue late into the night. If you want a good night's sleep at this Disney property, ask for a quieter room away from the bustling boardwalk. No matter which room you stay in, you'll find it equipped with complimentary Wi-Fi, coffee makers and private balconies. Although the late-night noise may not suit younger travelers, the BoardWalk Inn's Luna Park Pool – with its 200-foot-long waterslide – certainly will. And visitors of all ages can enjoy a ride along the boardwalk on the resort's community bikes (for a fee). No matter how you choose to start your day, start off your night with a hearty plate of fresh seafood at the Flying Fish.

Disney's Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa is definitely eye-catching. Situated along Walt Disney World Resort's Village Lake, this resort looks as though it stepped out of New York's Saratoga Springs area in the late 1800s, when the regenerative springs and horse racing made that town all the rage. But more importantly than looks, recent guests adore the first-rate, personalized customer service they received starting from the moment they checked in. The rooms also earn high praise, especially from larger family groups who appreciate the amount of space each accommodation affords. A consistent guest favorite are the Treehouse Villas, which sit suspended off the ground in a wooden grove. And regardless of whether you choose a studio, a one- or two-bedroom villa or a Treehouse Villa, you can count on staples like minifridges and coffee makers, as well as complimentary Wi-Fi access and Victorian-inspired touches, such as patchwork quilts. Keep in mind that this is one of the few Disney properties that isn't within walking distance of any Walt Disney World sites; still, guests praise the complimentary bus transfers, which run between the resort and the Disney theme parks. Other guest-praised amenities include the High Rock Spring Pool and Disney's Lake Buena Vista Golf Course.

Recent guests of Disney's BoardWalk Villas say the property's location, picturesquely perched on the waterfront, can't be beat. The architecture was inspired by turn-of-the-century Atlantic City (that's even before the "Boardwalk Empire" era, for you HBO fans). Within easy walking distance are Disney's Hollywood Studios and Epcot theme parks. But according to some recent guests, the studios and villas themselves are a little underwhelming compared to the property's dazzling exterior. All accommodations come appointed with private balconies, flat-screen TVs with DVD players, microwaves and pastel color schemes with beach-inspired accents. Outside the accommodations, guests have access to all the amenities found at the Disney's BoardWalk Inn, including three pools, a waterslide and eight dining venues. And to get to other Disney properties, Walt Disney World theme parks and Orlando, Florida's airport, visitors can take one of the resort's complimentary shuttles.

At Orlando, Florida's Disney's Beach Club Villas, you'll find so many coveted amenities on-site that you may be hard-pressed to find a reason to leave the property grounds. Take the rooms, for example – available in studio, one-bedroom villa and two-bedroom villa layouts – which offer flat-screen TVs with DVD players, complimentary Wi-Fi, minifridges and private balconies. And then there's the Sandcastle Club activity center for guests ages 3 to 12, the wading pool and the whirlpool, not to mention the nearby pools and man-made beach at Disney's Beach Club Resort and an additional beach at Disney's Yacht Club Resort. Although this Disney property, like the Beach Club Resort, caters heavily to families, adults in search of a more refined atmosphere can spend a few hours at the adjacent Yacht Club Resort. And if you do choose to leave the premises altogether, you'll have free transportation to and from Disney parks and resorts (though some guests found the walk is manageable to Walt Disney World's Epcot).

Boulder Ridge Villas at Disney's Wilderness Lodge

    • Free WiFi

These Disney villas – housed within Disney's Wilderness Lodge – transport families from balmy Florida to crisp, rugged mountains of the Pacific Northwest. Inspired by the architecture of the railroad hotels of the American West, the resort's lobby features a towering fireplace that adds an extra touch to the already cozy accommodations. Fire Rock Geyser, modeled after Yellowstone's Old Faithful geyser, is located on the resort grounds and shoots water 120 feet into the air every hour on the hour. Although it shares amenities with the Wilderness Lodge, Boulder Ridge Villas may be a better choice if you're traveling with kids or a larger group. These accommodations are more spacious, and all of the rooms come equipped with kitchenettes or kitchens. Aside from the carefully crafted ambiance, the Wilderness Lodge also offers complimentary transportation to Walt Disney World's Magic Kingdom and plenty of on-site activities for kids. However, some amenities, including the marina, beach and playground, are closed until late 2017 for renovations.

You don't need to putt on Grand Cypress' coveted greens to indulge in some quality golfing in Orlando. Satisfied travelers would just as well recommend Arnold Palmer's Bay Hill Club & Lodge. This resort's 27 holes should entertain most golfers. And the service is first-rate, from inside the lodge to around the spa and fitness center – and of course at the clubhouse as well. Some previous guests do say that staying at Arnold Palmer's felt a little like being trapped in a time capsule; you'll see outdated furnishings and somewhat conventional fabrics in some of the 70 lodge rooms. Even the 27-inch flat screens don't push the accommodations into the 21st century. On the bright side, this resort in southwest Orlando is nearly always reasonably priced, and you'll be close to one of the city's top parks – Universal's Islands of Adventure, which features the Wizarding World of Harry Potter. Recent lodgers also note that Arnold Palmer's Bay Hill Club & Lodge offers a quiet and well-priced respite from the ritzy theme park resorts.

Located about 3 miles southeast of Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida, this hotel features suites and villas large enough to accommodate families and groups. Lodging options here come equipped with minifridges, coffee makers, microwaves and pull-out sofa beds in the living room area. Meanwhile, families and large groups like the villas here because they offer more sleeping space, laundry machines and full kitchens, not to mention access to private pools. Yet recent guests offer mixed reviews of the Caribe Royale Orlando. Despite the accomodating perks, some guests say the decor is outdated. Recent lodgers also aren't very complimentary of the on-site restaurants, lamenting high prices and less-than-stellar food. On the other hand, travelers enjoy the hotel's array of amenities, which include tennis and basketball courts, a spa and a water play area for children. Plus, members of the Stash Hotel Rewards program can earn or redeem points while staying here.

When parents need some alone time, they can call the hotel's babysitting service and head over to the spa for a quick massage or sit down to dinner at LetterPress, which serves up tasty American fare. Recent guests who have stayed here with larger groups recommend bunking down in the Family Suites, which have a bedroom, living room and private balcony. While recent guests said the staff was attentive and friendly, outdated rooms led to unpleasant experiences for some.

Travelers speak highly of their time at the Villas of Grand Cypress Orlando. Previous guests, from families to couples to business travelers, describe the resort – which is tucked onto Orlando's North Jacaranda Street – as a gem. Rooms here feature spacious bathrooms with separate bathtubs and glass-enclosed showers, flat-screen TVs, Keurig coffee makers and high-speed internet access. What's more, the villas come with a pretty sweet view; private patios or decks face either the nearby waterways or the resort's fairways. Speaking of greens, the Villas of Grand Cypress boasts 45 holes designed by Jack Nicklaus to conquer. The resort also prides itself on being family-friendly. Outdoor activities found on-site include a pool and several biking trails. Tennis courts, a rock climbing wall, a miniature golf course, a pool with a waterslide and a game room can also be enjoyed at the resort's sister property, the Hyatt Regency Grand Cypress. What's more, on-site The Clubhouse serves delectable cuisine for breakfast, lunch and dinner. But there's a catch: A stay at the Villas of Grand Cypress doesn't come cheap.
