Surrounded by 30 acres of tropical palms and powdery sands, this former 18th-century sugar cane plantation set along Nevis' northern coast impresses guests with its rustic charm. All 36 guest rooms and suites – which earn a thumbs-up from visitors for their spacious interiors and superb amenities – occupy lemon-tinted cottages and feature wicker furniture, stocked minibars, free Wi-Fi access and balconies, patios or screened-in porches. Travelers also rave about the authentic Nevis specialties served at the on-site restaurants: Coconuts, Sea Breeze Beach Bar and the Great House. Out on the grounds, you'll find amenities like a tennis court, beachside hammocks, a croquet lawn and a 75-foot lap pool. For an added dose of luxury, retreat to the full-service spa for a relaxing treatment or massage. Though a versatile menu of facilities is nice to have, guests say the boutique hotel's impeccable service and relaxing atmosphere are its greatest assets. However, some caution that a stay here is expensive. You'll find Nisbet Plantation Beach Club located 2 miles east of Vance W. Amory International Airport.

This ultra-luxurious hideaway fringing Nevis' western coast maintains its Caribbean ambiance along Pinney's Beach without sacrificing its brand-wide exceptional service. All 196 guest rooms and suites in this Four Seasons outpost come equipped with rattan and mahogany furnishings, marble bathrooms and commanding sea or mountain and golf course views. Should you be able to part from your opulent digs, you'll find ample facilities awaiting outdoors, including 10 tennis courts and an 18-hole golf course (designed by Robert Trent Jones II). Those seeking more R&R can unwind by one of three infinity-edge pools or retreat to the resort's spa, complete with an herb garden, charming gingerbread-trimmed treatment cottages and specialty services that incorporate local ingredients like coconut and cinnamon. Once you're feeling relaxed, indulge in some Caribbean-Latin fusion cuisine at Mango, an intimate venue that boasts breathtaking ocean views. Or, venture to one of the two other on-site dining venues. Overall, travelers praise the delectable dishes served at all three eateries, although some say the options are pricey and limited. Others caution that parts of the property are currently undergoing renovations, so construction noise can be a nuisance at times.

St. Kitts Marriott Resort & The Royal Beach Casino
    Basseterre
    4.5-star HOTEL CLASS
TripAdvisor Traveler Rating 4 based on 3571 reviewsTripAdvisor (3571)

This luxury resort, flanking Frigate Bay along St. Kitts' southeastern coast, lures travelers looking for a low-key tropical getaway. Accommodations feature bright green and blue accents, traditional or modern furnishings, minifridges, flat-screen TVs and Wi-Fi access (for a fee). Recent visitors warned that most of the rooms could benefit from a refresh. However, many said that having access to a handful of facilities – including a large pool complex, a white sand beach, a spa, a casino and the Royal St. Kitts Golf Club – left little reason to leave the resort grounds. Plus, this Marriott outpost boasts five restaurants that specialize in everything from fresh seafood to Italian cuisine, as well as two grab-and-go eateries and a lobby bar. If you're a member of the Marriott Bonvoy program, you can earn or use points by choosing to stay here.

Set at the base of the glorious Mount Liamiuga, approximately 5 miles north of Basseterre, this quaint 18th-century former sugar plantation sprawls across 35 acres of St Kitts' northeastern coast. Ottley's touts all the amenities of an authentic Caribbean inn: The 23 rooms are filled with wicker and mahogany furnishings, locally crafted artwork and private balconies or patios. Outside, guests have access to pristine tennis courts and a tranquil 65-foot pool (not to mention the Mango Orchard Spa). When hunger sets in, retreat to the intimate Royal Palm Restaurant, which serves up flavorful international entrees with a side of striking ocean views. Despite Ottley's picturesque surroundings, recent guests bemoan its location removed from the island's beaches.

Set on the southern part of St. Kitts just a mile north of Frigate Bay, the Royal St. Kitts Hotel offers travelers prime access to the adjacent St. Kitts Marriott Resort & The Royal Beach Casino's 18-hole championship golf course, as well as Frigate Bay's shops, restaurants and beaches. On the property, guests can lounge by one of two pools (including a saltwater pool), break a sweat in the gym or dine at two restaurants. While past visitors enjoyed both eateries, they especially appreciated the sports bar atmosphere and Italian offerings found at Dolce Vita Pizzeria. And although this hotel does not offer direct beach access, many of its accommodations provide guests with picturesque views of the property's private lagoon, while others feature mountain views. Inside the studios and one- and two-bedroom suites, travelers will find dark wooden furniture and blue, white and yellow decor, as well as amenities like complimentary Wi-Fi access, flat-screen TVs and glass showers. The standout feature of these guest rooms, though, is the kitchenette. A standard at the property, each fully stocked kitchenette includes a Keurig coffee maker and stainless steel appliances.
