Surrounded by a nature preserve on Cozumel's southwestern coast, this all-inclusive Occidental Resort provides the secluded atmosphere many escapists crave. Past guests were impressed by the property's grounds, which they describe as impeccably manicured. And though some hint that the resort's guest rooms could benefit from a facelift, most visitors were more than satisfied with their digs, which come outfitted with a flat-screen TV, minibar and private balcony or terrace. But that's not to say that Occidental Grand Cozumel's guests spend much time behind closed doors: The property features three pools as well as a Beach Club. Plus, vacationers can participate in aquatic activities like snorkeling, windsurfing and kayaking. Meanwhile, Occidental Grand Cozumel's seven on-site restaurants will keep you fueled and ready to take on the next activity. The resort also offers spa treatments and diving and deep-sea fishing courses and excursions, but these are not covered by the all-inclusive package.

  • A member of the IHG Hotels family, this sprawling resort on Cozumel, Mexico's west coast promises island visitors a stylish, yet casual getaway. And according to previous guests, this InterContinental property delivers. Flanked by half a mile of sugary shoreline, swaying palm trees and the gargantuan Palancar Reef, the InterContinental Presidente Cozumel Resort & Spa houses 220 spacious guest rooms complete with eye-catching blue or red and orange accents, flat-screen TVs, free Wi-Fi access and private balconies or terraces. Out on the grounds, visitors can swim in the outdoor pools, practice their backhand on the tennis courts or unwind at the Spa. (If you're traveling with kids in tow, you should spend some looking for iguanas around the property.) Guests also praise the cuisine served at the resort's four dining venues, but most visitors credit their positive experiences at this resort to the Presidente Cozumel's employees. Previous travelers said that the staff here is nothing short of friendly and helpful. And keep in mind, if you're an IHG Rewards Club member, you can use or earn points at this brand's outpost.
