    Fairmont Royal York
    Toronto, CA
    4-star HOTEL CLASS
TripAdvisor Traveler Rating 4.5 based on 4828 reviewsTripAdvisor (4828)

The Fairmont Royal York opened its doors nearly 85 years ago and was the tallest building in the British Commonwealth. It no longer holds that title, but it still boasts the opulent decor that made it so famous nearly a century ago. The hotel is conveniently connected to the city's underground walkway and sits just one block from the Air Canada Centre. However, guests warn that the guest rooms come with thin walls that can make for a noisy stay. If you're looking for extra quiet, find the hotel's Health Club, which features an indoor lap pool, whirlpool, saunas, steam room and fitness center. For food, try one of the Fairmont's five dining venues: Benihana Japanese Steakhouse, Piper's Pub, Library Bar and York's Cafe. Library Bar's cocktails, single malt whiskey selection and charming atmosphere are especially popular among guests. Sheraton on the Falls Hotel

    4-star HOTEL CLASS
TripAdvisor Traveler Rating 4 based on 8232 reviewsTripAdvisor (8232)
    Free WiFi

Situated just north of the thundering waters of Niagara Falls, Sheraton on the Falls lures guests with its outstanding views and family-friendly amenities. Kids can splash around in the 3-acre Fallsview Indoor Waterpark – which is directly connected to the Sheraton – while parents soak in the 7th floor rooftop pool (open during the warmer months) or rejuvenate at Christienne Fallsview Spa. The numerous on-site and nearby dining options also cater to all members of the clan: The Rainforest Cafe Niagara Falls with its animatronic animals and 6,000-gallon shark tank will appeal to the younger set, while adults looking to savor a refined meal of fresh, local seafood and produce will enjoy the on-site Windows by Jamie Kennedy Fresh Grill & Wine Bar. When the day is done, retire to your well-appointed accommodations; each room is outfitted with a 37-inch LCD flat-screen TV, a minifridge, complimentary in-suite Starbucks coffee and Tazo tea and wireless internet access (for a fee); however, guests weren't thrilled with the extra fees (like the daily resort fee). Though some guests lament the hotel's thick crowds, especially around the holidays and when conferences are held on-site, many say the property's prime location and striking scenery are compelling reasons to plan a future stay. With 53 stories, seven restaurants and lounges, 50,000 square feet of meeting and event space and a 10,000-square-foot pool, the Hilton Niagara Falls/Fallsview Hotel & Suites is, well, big. For some visitors, the Hilton's abundant amenities are the main draw. Families especially like the nearby kid-friendly attractions, while night owls like swanky on-site lounges and wine bar. The panoramic views of the waterfalls from the 33rd-floor Watermark Restaurant is also a crowd pleaser, though some guests say the continental cuisine fails to hit the mark. Some visitors also express disappointment with this Hilton's rooms and suites, saying that even accommodations advertised as "Fallsview" look out on obstructed or partial views of Niagara Falls' most famous feature. Still, all accommodations are appointed with flat-screen TVs, high-speed internet access (for a fee), coffee makers and minifridges. Some suites also boast extra perks like separate living areas and fireplaces. Keep in mind that the hotel's pool and fitness center are currently undergoing renovations, and should reopen in the summer of 2018. Because this is a Hilton property, Hilton Honors members can rack up and redeem points for choosing to stay here.

    4-star HOTEL CLASS
TripAdvisor Traveler Rating 4.5 based on 2106 reviewsTripAdvisor (2106)

Nearly 1,400 guest rooms tower over the contemporary lobby at downtown Toronto's Sheraton Centre Toronto Hotel. Accommodations are equipped with work areas, LCD flat-screen TVs and the brand's signature beds. While guests say the hotel shows signs of aging, they praise the plethora of on-site amenities and the property's central location (around the corner from Toronto's City Hall near the entertainment and financial districts). Another source of complaints from previous visitors: Lackluster customer service, though most agreed the property's desirable location helps make up for this drawback. If you're craving a little extra rejuvenation during your stay, pamper yourself with a body treatment at Senses Spa, where Dead Sea salts stimulate relaxation and refresh your skin. If you prefer salt by way of cured meats, try Shopsy's Deli off the hotel's lobby for breakfast, lunch, dinner or takeout. And with two more on-site restaurants, your dining options are plentiful: BnB Toronto Bistro and Bar is popular for its burgers and comfort foods while the menu at Quinn's Steakhouse and Irish Bar offers tasty beef and seafood options. And because this hotel is part of the Marriott hotel family, Marriott Bonvoy members can earn and use points here.

TripAdvisor Traveler Rating 4 based on 8250 reviewsTripAdvisor (8250)

Plenty of Niagara Falls hotels boast spectacular vistas of the awe-inspiring waterfalls, but recent reviewers say the views from this Marriott outpost are simply breathtaking. Each of its guest rooms and suites peers over the Niagara River or the falls themselves. Accommodations also feature minifridges, 32-inch flat-screen TVs and wireless internet access (for a fee). If you came hungry, you can appease your appetite at the Morton's Grille Niagara Falls, which serves up international cuisine coupled with scenic waterfall panoramas. For lighter fare or beverages, there's a Starbucks on-site, as well as the Lobby Bar. Visitors also commend the hotel's indoor pool and fitness center, along with the Serenity Spa By The Falls, which offers a wide range of massages and body treatments (appointments are required). However, the hotel's valet parking is the only on-site parking option and costs $40 CAD (about $33 USD) a day, much to guests' chagrin. Welcoming visitors since June 1912, the Fairmont Château Laurier was built to resemble a French Renaissance castle, with a copper roof dotted with limestone and granite spires. Recent visitors admire this Fairmont's stunning architecture, as well as its location in downtown Ottawa (right next to Parliament Hill). However, some guests describe the rooms as somewhat small and bare, which doesn't harmonize with the overall elegance of the hotel. Each of the Fairmont's guest rooms and suites comes appointed in creamy neutral tones and includes a Nespresso coffee maker, refreshment area and Wi-Fi access (for a fee). For those who prefer to dine in, the Fairmont houses the upscale Wilfrid's Restaurant, and La Terrasse for a more casual, outdoor meal. For a late-night cocktail or afternoon tea, venture to Zoé's Lounge, which offers a refined atmosphere and excellent service that's well worth the splurge, according to recent visitors. And remember, members of the Le Club AccorHotels program can earn frequent flier miles for choosing to bed down here.
