Quite convenient although pricey

Nov 30th, 2019

The hotel is very well located in Brooklyn. Check-in was easy with very friendly and helpful staff in the front desk. The room was good, although a bit dated and the bed was somehow noisy. The soundproof is great towards the outside (I could not hear anything from the street), but not so great towards the hallway. Also the room heating was quite noisy every time it starts. You get filter Starbucks coffee to make in your room (replenish everyday), which was another plus. Overall, it was a very decent place to stay, although you are still paying New York/Brooklyn prices. Pretty Nice

I spent just one night here for my boyfriends birthday. I debated between this hotel and the Marriott but I'm glad I stayed here. The room was a bit small but it was clean and perfect for the night. The view from my room was pretty nice as well for the location. If I were a tourist staying in NYC (I live here) this location would provide great value for its proximity to transportation, shopping, and some great Brooklyn restaurants and hang out spots. Not to mention it would be super fast and easy to get to Manhattan or other great parts of Brooklyn. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

I had a great stay.

Housekeeping was exceptional. Especially Xiao Ping. She was wonderfully helpful and very friendly. She assisted us in every way possible and even went above and beyond for us. Xiao Ping kept our room in order. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Best for the price in the area

I stay here often since I have family in the area. I’ve tried most of the hotels within a mile radius—the Hilton, Indigo, Aloft... The Hilton’s much nicer—but generally far more expensive. Since a rehab, this Sheraton has nicer rooms and lobby than it previously had. It’s functional, generally clean and very convenient The staff is not particularly well-trained (there’s no record of my previous stays so I never receive a nice greeting)—and doesn’t I know much about the area—(I can google information as well as they can). They failed to call the valet for me causing a 45 minute delay in getting my car. Also they put white grout in the showers and the black mold shows up clearly—thee cleaning staff is probably over-worked TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Decent hotel

Front desk was very nice and friendly, check in was easy. There was a mistake on the marriott website and I ended up with two reservations (I thought one of them was cancelled), but they were nice enough to remove one of them. We booked the hotel so our kids could use the pool, but we arrived late and turned out the pool wouldn't open until 5pm the next day, so we had to hustle and get to the pool that evening. The pool is ok, it's pretty small, but it's better than nothing. It wasn't super clean, but it wasn't gross. As for the rooms, I thought with my status we would get a bigger room, but it was pretty tiny. And the view was a construction site. I guess that's NY for you. It was probably the smallest hotel that I've stayed in. I think it's actually smaller than the four points next door. Lobby was ok, too many randoms around, I went down to the basement to have a work call, and found some guy sleeping on a couch. Very close to trains and dekalb market, and lots of food options around the area. The hotel is very affordable (~$100 per night), I think for the solo traveler, it's a great option instead of staying in Manhattan and it's a Marriott so if you're looking for some nights to hit your status for the year, it's a great choice.
