Girls birthday night

Jul 23rd, 2019

I have stayed at 30 james street many times over the past few years. The hotel is not as impressive as it was 2 years ago but the staff are still very pleasant and we enjoyed our stay and the room had kitchen which was a nice surprise and i would stay again as great value for money on a Sunday night . Birthday treat

Jul 23rd, 2019

We arrived friday 19th July it was a birthday treat from the husband. We stayed in the heart of the ocean room. While the room was clean and tidy and very spacious there is wear and tear in some furniture. The whirlpool bath went down a treat however there was a bulb out in the bathroom. The tv connection was not very good we couldn’t watch anything without it buffering and the air con was not working so the room was very hot! We asked for a fan and not long after we had one brought to the room but it was a small desk fan. So while it did help a little it wasn’t enough for the spacious room. We had a 3 course meal at the rooftop restaurant which was gorgeous definitely cannot fault the food. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Hen weekend

Jul 22nd, 2019

Good location but entrance needs a scrub - stained steps - looks grotty! Bathroom smelt fusty as though cloths used to clean not fresh nor cleaning products not used either! Shower caps need to be provided as shower was overhead. Carpets need a clean. No spare loo roll - needed when four people sharing 2 double bed room. Beds too small - standard double not big enough! Card system not efficient with multi-sharers etc. Breakfast selection was great - from continental to full english but tea was not good and orange juice not nice either! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

beautiful rooms

Fantastic hotel to stay in, truly feels like silver service. The room was stunning, the bath was so relaxing after a long day and the breakfast in the morning was perfect. Thoroughly enjoyable and will most certainly be returning. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Be very careful to check what this hotel really is

Jul 21st, 2019

I stayed here for one night in July 2019 for work. I really should have checked it properly first. The hotel is noisy. I had a fourth floor room on a Sunday night. There was pounding music audible in the room, I think from the street but maybe from the wedding downstairs. Alarm bells started ringing when they didn't take Amex and demanded photo ID. You have to sign a form promising to pay if there are more people in the room than you booked for. Then I realised there's no room service. Then I noticed the toiletries in the bathroom were cheap and unpleasant. Air con didn't work properly. The washbasin didn't drain. The wifi was slow and unreliable. Basically, this is a place for people on a big night out in Liverpool who want somewhere a bit different from the Travelodge at the end of the night when they need somewhere to sleep. If that's what you're after, this hotel offers it at a low price. If you want a quiet room, wifi to work and a good nights sleep, try somewhere else. Anywhere else! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
