Getting better all the time

Mar 10th, 2020

It;s a beautiful modern property -about 15 -20 mins walk from Stazione della Santa Maria and same distance from Fortezza di Basso. But 4 minute walk from Leopolda Station where we congregate every year in February. Very comfortable hotel-lovely breakfast, nice beds, air conditioned-heated, Excellent service at the reception. It is one hotel that grows on you because people are helpful and it is well maintained. Quiet rooms no matter where you stay. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Great hotel and great price

Mar 6th, 2020

So many good things to say. It’s not a 5 star hotel... please don’t expect it to be the excelsior. But, and this is big, It’s wonderful and the staff is amazing. It’s a 10-15 min walk to the city center. Cab rides are cheaper[ €5-8] than parking in the city. It’s quiet, clean and roomy. (Again unlike the city hotels). I would stay here again, no question. If you are looking for a city center experience, go into the city for a hotel. If you want a quiet experience with great access to the city at a much better price, this is a must TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Quiet alternative in Florence but room for improvement

Feb 24th, 2020

Hotel is situated in a quieter neighborhood of Florence. It's a bit of a walk to the city center and the main attractions of Florence. Some nice restaurants in the area still however. Rooms were a bit tight, even for European standards. The walls were thin as well, you could often hear your neighbors. Decent internet which was nice, but the breakfast was slightly underwhelming. Overall, if you're looking for a quiet stay in Florence this might be the option for you. If you want something in the heart of the city, look elsewhere. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Clean and comfortable, but a bit walk to center Florence

Feb 12th, 2020

This is our first to stay in a AC property in Italy. It turned out we made a right choice for our trip Florence weeks ago. Florence is not big, and the best way to experience Florence probably is walking. However, if you have a car or drive to Florence, ZTL in Florence could be really annoying. That's why we didn't choose other better or more boutique hotel, since most of them are within the ZTL. The room was standard AC style, which is clean, simple and functional. The neighborhood is quite safe, and we even found a laundromat in 2 mins walk, which is really helpful! The staff in this AC hotel is really good. It's not just one person in particular, I happened to find all the staff I met, from receptionist, restaurant, and housekeeping, were all quite friendly and helpful. It took about 20 minutes to walk to the Duomo, the heart of center Florence, which is OK for us. But it can be a little tired to walk back after a full day of museums. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Look elsewhere

Jan 13th, 2020

The hotel was clean and comfortable, but you should look elsewhere. The location is at least a 15-minute walk from even the nearest tourist attraction. It's not terribly convenient. However, the biggest problem was the service of the staff. They were incredibly inattentive. There was a serious domestic dispute, including physical violence, in the room next to me during the middle of the night (after midnight) that woke me from a sound sleep and went on for over two hours. The front desk, though I complained twice and asked for help - did absolutely nothing. Nothing. They didn't call the room, they didn't ask them to be quiet, they didn't help the poor woman being beaten. I had to intervene personally by knocking on the wall. I waited over an hour for the hotel to respond. It was horrible. Throughout the rest of the stay, they were disinterested in any customer service - from check-in, to check-out, the staff acted burdened by the presence of guests. The hotel is nothing special, not conveniently located, and service is incredibly lacking. You can find something far better in Florence, I'm sure. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
