Hotel,is good but please use the parking

The ac hotel Milano is great considering the price, modern and clean, good breakfast. When we arrived on a Sunday evening there was plenty of parking spaces in the parking next to the hotel and as we were planning an early departure it was convenient, 5 steps away from the hotel. Unfortunately next morning we discovered our car with a window smashed in and stuff we left in the car stolen. Please use the parking, and please do not leave any valuables in your car, what they stole was not that important (They left two cases of great wines untouched, probably too heavy) but the inconvenience of having to continue your travel with a broken window .... and we were not the only ones, but none of the cars with Italian license plates were damaged, only foreign cars... beware TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Horrible parking experience

The room and the service provided by the hotel was fine. It was clean, the breakfast was fine and the staff at breakfast service was friendly and attentive. The horrible part was the arrival (Sep, 13th 2020 around 4.30 pm) We went there with a small manual car (Volkswagen Up). At first, we couldn’t find the hotel parking lot so one of us had to step out of the car to go inside the hotel and asked which was fine. We drove down the steep one-lane slope to the entrance and rang the bell just like the staff told us to. The door was then opened by a staff and we were about to drive in but then there was another car coming up. We rang the bell again to talk to the staff why this happened and that our small car didn’t have enough power to drive up backwards. The staff kept repeating, “yes, just drive back up.” After a while of the attempt to negotiate, both of us got very upset which we knew the staff also noticed it in our tone. One of us stepped out of the car to talk to the other car and asked him politely if he could drive back down. He had a bigger car and told us the parking lot is impossible to drive back down which we understood. At the end, not receiving any help from the hotel staff behind the speaker, we drove backwards up from the entrance and there was smoke and horrible burning smell from our car. Of course, the engine was overheated as expected. We finally parked after the other car left. We checked in and the staff pretended nothing has happened. Finally, we had to make an effort to ask for clarification. He told us because the other car didn’t ring the bell on the way out. No apology, no empathy shown, whatsoever. When we went back to the car 30 minutes later to check the car, it still smelled burned and the whole parking lot smelled like our car. When we checked out, a staff did ask if everything was fine during the stay, of course we didn’t want to raise it up again. Here are the suggestions for the hotel: 1. Put up a clear sign where hotel parking lot is. We went back to the reception a couple of times to ask for some things and overheard a lot of guests asking where the parking lot is. 2. As a hotel, do not blame others on any incidents.It’s not totally our fault that we have a small car. It’s not totally the other car’s fault that he didn’t know he had to ring a bell. It’s not totally the hotel’s fault and can the hotel do something to solve this problem? It can! e.g., put clear sign “ring a bell before going out or going in”, remind guest upon check-out to ring the bell, be a good host and come out of the office to help guests with the ongoing situation and not letting us solve the problem caused by your property ourselves, and take responsibility on what happened to your guest and extend apology. 3. When something bad happened to the guest, pass it on to all staffs so that they don’t have to ask the guest to repeat again how horrible the stay experience was. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Amazing place in the heart of Milan

My partner and I stayed at the hotel for a couple of nights over the last weekend and I can say that it was an amazing experience. Competent and professional staff, spacious and modern rooms, quiet place and amazing views over Milan downtown. Gym included in the facility and the breakfast covered also gluten free options. Metro Garibaldi station close to the hotel, parking lot available. Nothing to complain about, we will definitely come back for the next adventure in Milan! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Great value

The hotel was great value. Room was good sized. Small but good enough gym. Location was good compared to the price paid. Easy metro or train ride availability including to airport and central locations. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Just really average

Will start by saying the front desk staff were really good, did all right. Room though...not so much. VERY warm room. Guy came up to open the window, but surprisingly did very little...and then I had the added bonus of the noise outside. Bed was OK, but not the best, and room whilst clean was just, well, average. Maids carts was in the hall from the time I checked in until next AM...no idea why, but not a good thing. Location didnt seem that great, wasnt for me anyway. 6-7 min walk from some train station, but for me, near very little. Breakfast buffet was OK, but again, average. No exec lounge of course. Didn't get to the gym as was not there long at all. Next time, probably would not stay here. But, if I found myself needing a hotel right there, and it was not winter when they had the internal heating cranked up to Amazon like temps in the room, I may give it another go.
