Perfect hotel for explorers

Stayed in this hotel with 2 friends of mine as we were on a road trip. Hotel has to offer everything you need for a good night sleep while travelling for most part of the day .So good value for money ! Beds are comfy , room clean and tidy . Peaceful and quiet area . Perfect location if you end up visiting only city ! Hotel has a place to eat downstairs and also a place to go if you fancy a cheeky drink ! Also massive thank you to the team that helped us by providing room under interesting circumstances. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Stayed for two nights. Located in a busy main road but this didn’t affect my sleep and I had a room at the front. Breakfast comes in a bag and is made up of a croissant, yogurt, a piece of fruit and a small juice. Hotel is clean with sanitising stations and I’ve way systems throughout. I had a wait to check-in/check-out. Parking is available round the corner and costs £7 per day. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Very Scottish hotel, comfy and traditional. Good service and nice, comfy beds. A good place to stay in Aberdeen. Good food and good service. Price is very OK. Bathroom is among the better ones for an old fashioned hotel. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

My daughter and I went for an overnight stay and called ahead to say we were on our way and to see where we could park. We were told to park at the Maritime. We also asked about late check out but were told we had to wait until we got there to see about availability. When we arrived we discovered we needed a pin code to get into the car park so had to call again to get in. Fekt we should have been told this when we called first time!We then had to use Google maps to see where actual hotel was as it wasn't obvious from the parking area. We got to reception and while one person dealt with us, a male behind reception (the person who spoke to us on the phone) had the phone on loud speaker discussing a technical issue with someone then sat on hold, huffing and sighing- not very professional!! Our first room was stinking of smoke which we felt cleaners should have highlighted however we were moved to a bigger room without hesitation. The new room was cold do when we called down to reception we were told they controlled the heating and would switch it on - this is March in Scotland, why was it not on?! Only one radiator got warm so when I spoke to reception later I was told maintenance had gone home. I asked about a heater and was told it was unlikely but they would check- I'm still waiting on someone getting back to me. I was also told room 209 was a known cold room - so why was there not a heater in it? Even though I said for late check out, at 10am my door was knocked for room cleaning!! When I went out and got back at 1.30pm. I walked up the 2 floors to find my key card didn't work. I walked back down and was told it was because the key had reset - why did it not know I had extended check out? Reception was cold and the venue j attended on the Saturday was also really cold. Room was nice apart from cold although bathroom door was quite dirty and dusty. Molly's was brilliant- best food and service was amazing!! The reception staff could definitely learn a thing or 2 about customer service. Its obvious why they get you to pay in advance for your room as people must refuse to pay after staying- I certainly would!! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Was unsure of location of car parking so decided to just park at Union Square. Upon arriving at the hotel the front reception area looked great and we were pleasantly surprised, check in was easy and pleasant enough. When we arrived at our room we instantly felt disappointment, the carpet was quite dirty, the window ledge and area beside the radiators were dusty, the wardrobe door was broken, shower had hair init and and the plastic seal on the shower door was filty. Most disturbingly there was a used cotton bud and one ear plug in our bin. We didn't even take our clothing out of our bags, if I hadn't paid already then I wouldn't have stayed as I was so disappointed, safe to say we won't return. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
