we spent a couple of nights at Achti, with the formula half board. We had a la carte menu, which is something unusual which we have appreciated a lot. The staff was really accommodating and helpful. very nice people. the hotel has been recently renovated and we found it very clean. the swimming pool looking at the river nile was very very nice. Beautiful hotel in the best location in Luxor right on the Nile.

Jun 7th, 2019

We have just returned from a stay at the Achti, ex Sheraton, hotel in Luxor, May/June 2019. We have stayed in this hotel many times over the past 30 years and it was a pleasure to return. This is without doubt the best placed hotel in Luxor, right on the banks of the Nile. The recent refurbishment is complete and looks really upper class with a beautiful reception area, rooms, restaurant and bar areas. The two swimming pools are wonderfully maintained. The staff at the Achti have been with the hotel for many years and all give a wonderful service to the hotel clients, they are friendly, helpful and very professional. The hotel was quiet whilst we were there as tourism has not yet returned to the levels of 6-7 years ago following the Arab Spring. Security is excellent. Tourists are well supported by security staff both in and out of the hotel. We felt very safe indeed without feeling we were being unduly restricted. We also noticed that there was far less hassle from the locals than that experienced in the past, the locals being very friendly and pleased to see tourists returning, although as yet still quiet. Unfortunately the Italian and Indian restaurants in the hotel were closed whilst we were there but there are plans to reopen the Italian in the not too distant future where the site has already been rebuilt and looking vey good indeed. The main meals at the Achti is served in the main restaurant giving plenty of choice to a high standard. The chef is more than willing to accommodate those wo may want a different choice. We would recommend this hotel as one of the best in Luxor. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Inexpensive but not cheap

Jun 4th, 2019

This was very nice hotel and great bargain. Right on the Nile, beautiful pool and great restaurant with good service. They could not do enough for us. Great way to relax and just take it all in. Just out of town but close to get back and see the temples. Take a Felucca ride from here as well. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

A great all-round resort for families

May 5th, 2019

We knew we were in for a treat with this resort when upon arrival we were greeted with a musical rendition of traditional Arabian music by three cheerful old men - for a small tip, of course! Check in was very smooth and we were seated and having breakfast in their impressively sized restaurant in no time. Attentive staff made sure we had what we wanted from a wide choice of breakfast dining options. Later we were shown to our villa, about a three-five minute walk from the front desk and passing beautiful landscaped gardens as well as a large swimming pool with water feature themes and bubbling jacuzzi. This resort also hosts several small shops including a barbers, a rug shop and a leather goods shop. We were happy with our souvenir purchases there - like everywhere in Egypt a good price has to be bargained for. I'd also like to mention the Italian restaurant which is also on site and does the most amazing lasagne! Our villa was adequate for a family of two young children and had a ensuite, fridge and flatscreen tv on the wall. There was enough wardrobe space for our belongings and a safe for storing valuables. As mentioned before , there are beautiful landscaped gardens to walk around and a path that leads on to a promenade for a walk along the edge of the Nile river. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

brief stopover

Apr 15th, 2019

We stayed for a brief stopover in this resort while on our way from Luxor to Cairo. Nice clean resort, great pool and good rooms. Staff was courteous for whatever little time we interacted with them. Had a dinner in the restaurant, food was OK, not very fresh. In fact the overall food experience throughout my stay of 10 days in Egypt was very average as the choices were limited and almost always you will find 1-2 items which were not fresh. Nice view of Nile river from the pool. would be great to enjoy a drink from on the deck chairs. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
