Magical Irish Hospitality! Flawless from Start to Finish
Dec 29th, 2020
We booked into the stunning Adare Manor for a few days a little before Christmas and it was simply fantastic. The level of customer service, the attention to detail, the decor, the food and the overall experience were extraordinary. The new "Paddle Club" leisure facility that has recently opened is out of this world. We had a paddle tennis lesson with David who was great fun (and very patient!), and its a great way to work up a sweat and then an hour in the pool/sauna/steam room after was a heavenly way to unwind and relax. The food and also the atmosphere/ambiance in the carriage house was perfect (Dylan who looked after our table was brilliant). On our last night we dined in Oak Room and the tasting menu was out of this world, it is easy see why it was awarded a Michelin star after only being open a short while. Really and truthfully, the hotel is more 7 star than 5 star and it perfectly manages to combine amazing Irish customer service, while still being incredibly atmospheric and relaxing and really good fun! One thing that stood out to us, was the staff culture, you could see that they were immensely proud of the Manor and to be part of the team there. We are already looking forward to our next trip back. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
A noticeable decline
Dec 26th, 2020
Stayed at Adare Manor on the 20th December for what was our third stay. I have to say the hotel has gone downhill since our previous stay in December 2019. We had asked prior to our stay about information on the Padel club and how to go about booking the swimming pool - all we received was information on booking a slot with the trackman golf simulator and the padel courts. When we arrived for our stay we went to book a time for the swimming pool and were advised that it was fully booked. The room was nice however the little touches that made Adare special were gone - no welcome letter with itinerary was present which we had received on our previous two stays. The wall paper was also lifted in the bathroom and the water did not flow down the sink very well. We had dinner in the carriage house that evening and was greeted by Stuart at the reception. I am not sure if we met him on a bad day but he was not the most friendliest of people. Our table was booked for 9 and we arrived around 8:45 and had a drink in the bar. At 9:15 we still had not been seated and put this down to the restaurant being busy. Eventually at 9:20 we were seated but we were surprised to see that the restaurant had only a few tables occupied so we were seated 20 minutes late for no reason and did not receive any apology for this. The menu had changed since last year which was a bit disappointing. The service was quiet slow even though the place was not busy and we were just thrown in a corner with it hard to get the attention of any waiting staff. When looking at the dessert menu I had asked would it be possible to have the rice pudding without any sultanas to which I was responded to with a No. when leaving we weren’t offered the shuttle back to the hotel either. Overall I was quite disappointed with our stay - we got engaged at the hotel last year and the service and overall experience we had last year was in no way comparable to this year. I’ve read that the GM has moved on, maybe this is the reason for this. I do have to say that unfortunately you have lost your yearly customer on account of this stay. Thank you. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

I booked this is a surprise for my two friends 30th's. When we arrive at the gate we were greeted by a very friendly gentleman who wished the two girls a happy birthday. We then made our way to the entrance of the Manor. From the moment we arrived the staff could not have done enough for us. Each staff member wishing the girls a happy birthday. Our room had a view of the 15th and 16th hole of the golf course and the river Maigue flowed past our window. We had Afternoon Tea and breakfast in the most amazing room. We dined at the Carriage House for dinner and the food was incredible. The Manor is out of this world and the grounds are incredible. The Christmas spirit was alive and well at Adare Manor. Staff made this a trip not to forget. Highly recommended and will be returning for another special occasion in the future. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

I booked this overnight trip a year in advance of my wife's 40th birthday. We arrived yesterday and from start to finish, we experienced the best customer service Ireland has to offer. Everything was very professional, the staff were so utterly friendly and nothing was an issue for them. The new pool was awesome, the Michelin restaurant was exquisite, our bedroom was class with views of the immaculate golf course and river from our bay window were inspiring. The little extras laid on by the hotel made my wife's 40th birthday present one to remember. Ireland still does the Céad Míle Failure... TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Just spent one night here for my birthday. What a wonderful experience. Staff inside and out very professional but very welcoming and friendly. Room beautiful. Most comfortable bed I have every slept in. Gorgeous balcony. Breakfast and afternoon tea was lovely and the big room was spectacular. Dinner in The Coach House was also lovely. Really nice atmosphere. Lots of little extras provided and a birthday gift. Grounds kept beautifully. Manor setting is stunning. Such a treat. Home but still smiling. We will definitely be back :) TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
