Free valet and self-parking provided
Some guests note outdated room decor
Sitting within the boundaries of Yosemite National Park, The Majestic Yosemite Hotel hosts some of the park's most desired accommodations. From the outside, the hotel looks like a majestic mountain lodge designed to mimic its impressive surroundings. For example, The Majestic Yosemite Dining Room commands views of Yosemite Falls and massive sugar pine trees, and the solarium provides breathtaking Glacier Point vistas. Visitors were impressed by the thoughtfully designed common areas, though some say the guest rooms (which offer free Wi-Fi access, flat-screen TVs and minifridges) felt drab in comparison. What's more, you'll have to shell out big bucks to overlook key sights like the Half Dome. However, all guests do receive complimentary valet and self-parking, and Yosemite Valley's free area shuttle stops at the property.

Nestled deep amongst the pine trees, cliffs, and canyons of Yosemite Valley is the 123-room The Majestic Yosemite Hotel. The impressive stone and wood structure, built in 1927, is considered a National Historic Landmark.

Lonely Planet

Built from local granite, pine and cedar, the building is splendidly decorated with leaded glass, sculpted tiles, Native American rugs and Turkish kilims. You can enjoy a meal in the baronial dining room or a casual drink in the piano bar.

Along with gorgeous park views, this hotel has impressive public areas. A vast great room fills up in the evenings with those wanting to socialize or just take in the hotel's workmanship and artistry.

Condé Nast Traveler
