Believe the Crappy Reviews

Feb 25th, 2020

Seriously, the bad reviews tell the truth. I booked a double room through Hopper (shame on you Hopper for promoting these crooks). When I arrived at the hotel they told me that "double" means "a single bed with double guests." And that my upgrade was going to be $300!! When I went to fake call my friend to tell her what they said, they told me that I was lucky the manager was there and would do my upgrade for $100. In no universe is a double, a double occupant bed! But what do you do when you already paid through a third party???? (try and get a refund through them, at the same time try and get another place when you just spent all day traveling?) They are very well aware of their scamming abilities. The first room had, what I think was flees and a bathroom that looked like a jail cell. I took the bug down, pinched between my fingers and showed the lady at the desk. She acted really coy, and unknowing. The second room had a huge window that wouldn't close and had no screen, in the middle of February. The third room was actually ok, except that it was now 1am at that point, and the carpet next to the heater was perpetually damp/wet. So, aside from getting screwed out of another $100 after booking through a third party, the rooms are super shotty. And some of the rooms don't have bathrooms inside, so you are expected to share a common bathroom in a hallway. You have to leave the key at the front desk every time you exit the building. They have NO clue what customer service means. They are scam artists and crooks. The elevator will probably kill you. If it's dark outside you will have to be let out, so be aware when you call an Uber/Lyft. Also, Lyft/Uber is only allowed to pick you up on the block south of the hotel, so prepare to walk. My friend saw another guest, but I did not. No one stays here, because it's horrible and so is their management. Had these guys given me the room I booked when I walked in (you know, a double bed room!), and didn't scam me out of another $100.00, I could have maybe given them a 3.0/2.5. This place is cheap for a reason. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Worst hotel experience ever

Nov 8th, 2019

They say “Complementary breakfast” and to our surprise they don’t even offer water. They only offer a single donut without any other options. Aida Plaza hotel enforces that no guests are allowed to take more than one. I don’t think people would consider this a complementary breakfast compared to anywhere else. These donuts tasted disgusting and stale. No juice or water or milk, only coffee. We ordered a room with a private bathroom and they put us in a room with no bathroom which led us to the hassle waiting for someone to help us finally get a room with a bathroom as we booked. It also says free WiFi, this is yet another lie because the only WiFi in the hotel is in the tiny lobby and no where else in the building. This hotel is in the most dangerous area of San Francisco. Charming Old Dame

Oct 31st, 2019

Loved this place. Booked a room at the front (overlooking Market Street) with its own bathroom and loved everything about it. It really can't be beaten on price for such a central location - right next to a subway stn, bus/trolley stops and steps away from the tourist sights and shopping. The hotel is refreshing change from the bland neutral 'blah'/nothing-ness of contemporary hotels. Instead, it is big on chintz and old-fashioned furniture and that is its charm. The pace reminded me of the rooms you see TV/Movie characters landing in when they first arrive in the city. Room wasn't big, but it was clean and there's so much to do in the city that it is only needed for sleeping. Loads of places for breakfast close by. Ignore any bad reviews about safety - the hotel is fine. The city has its own madness, with homeless and crazies everywhere, not just local area, so the hotel was an oasis of calm. Good service in a central location

Oct 16th, 2019

Friendly staff, comfortable beds and good cleaning service in a perfectly central location in San Francisco. The street where the hotel is located is frequented by homeless people, but we didn’t feel we were in danger in any time. This is the best you can get for that price in central San Francisco. We will stay again. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Great place

Oct 16th, 2019

Such a great service in a humble hotel, with awesome beds. The neighbourhood has not special breathtaking views although it is very near to the centre, but Market street is peaceful during the day. Merely the best quality at low cost! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
