Not worth it
Dec 29th, 2020
I booked a room on line. Somehow, when i thought i was booking a room via Marriott Bonvoy’s website, I was actually buying “points.” The room i thought i reserved via Marriott bonvoy ended up being a handicapped accessible room which i did not request. Very plain, no frills. The hotel is “animal friendly,” but there is no green space around the building to air your dog except a small green space across the street in front of a bank. I sure hope the bank doesn’t mind. Bottom line is that I got tricked into spending $250 for a room that wasn’t even worth the $125 i thought i was spending. Never again will I stay at a Marriott hotel TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Ask for a room facing 29th street and fall asleep watching the lights on Vulcan. Get takeout from Urban Cookhouse directly across the street and be sure to try the strawberry lemonade. Safe area with garage and street parking. Felt safe in both parking areas. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

The location is very good with great options for dining! The room decor was tacky and cheap looking and the floors and carpet looked dirty. The room just didn't feel cozy or clean. The water temp in the shower was either COLD or Scalding HOT. I don't think we will ever stay here again and really hate that we weren't impressed because its a great location and has potential. Vacation/Family visit during Covid-19
Oct 21st, 2020
We stayed at the Aloft in SOHO Square for vacation and we thoroughly enjoyed our visit. The staff was attentive and kind, rooms were huge! Beds, pillows all good. I called in advance and requested a view of the main street and this did not disappoint. A beautiful view of the Homewood Village landscape and the Vulcan. With Covid-19 guidelines the front desk staff were unable to offer breakfast - instead they kept hot coffee and fruit at the desk. Very kind - especially Erick Taft! He went above and beyond several times for me ... we were there for 5 days and needed extra items along the way. The location was perfect, shops and eateries surrounding the hotel. We had 2 rooms because my son flew in to join our family gathering and he loved the hotel and the area too! Definitely will refer and will stay again . TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
Great short stay with young kids and dog
Sep 13th, 2020
Came to Birmingham with our two young boys for a night as a stop on the way to Asheville. Lots of nice touches despite COVID. We grabbed late night snacks from the lobby, slept well on comfy beds and used the pool in the morning. In a cute location next to good restaurants and a square that our boys could run around on. Free parking and No pet fee an added bonus. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
