Horrible Hotel

Aug 12th, 2019

Rooftop pool NOT open and the cute did not state this and I could not have a refund, was also given a shuttle to beach and they never picked us back on the agreed time. We had to get an Uber back. Also they gave us 2 free drinks which was nice and 2 free breakfast coupons to makeup for the pool being closed but those were crap because the breakfast they had was utterly horrible options and looked disgusting. The bar was nice but the bartender seemed not to give us the time of day, probably because my husband and I look young and he thought we may not tip. The environment of the bar and the drinks were nice but the food and snack choices were crap. Finally I would like to say the “city view” was the most dull and boring view.I would not recommend staying here unless you are solely looking for a soft bed to sleep in. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Pool closed very disappointing

Aug 6th, 2019

My father passed so I was in Florida and we had to get a hotel for a night. After they wouldn’t match the online price we had we had to book through a website in their lobby. While we were running around all day we were excited to go in the rooftop pool they told us after we booked the room that oh and the pool is under construction so we don’t have a pool..... what? In Florida when it’s 94 degrees and 91% humidity you don’t have a pool?? Room was nice but very disappointed no pool available. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Made my week

Aug 3rd, 2019

My gf was staying here on business in her birthday week. I contacted the hotel on Facebook to order some champagne to her room. Jason was incredibly helpful and when she found the wine in her room, it made her day. I can’t thank you enough for being so kind, it felt like premium service from a quality hotel. 5-Star Service!!

Jul 30th, 2019

My friends recently got engaged and they were staying at the Aloft for a staycation. I called the hotel to send them an amenity and William at the Front Desk was very helpful. He helped me pick out some champagne and strawberries to send my friends and was able to accommodate them in a very nice room. He made sure the champagne and strawberries were in their room prior to their arrival with a message from my boyfriend and I. When my friends checked-in they were greeted with congratulations from the team and were so pleasantly surprised that the hotel knew. Thank you William and the Aloft team for making my friends’ weekend special! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Front desk needs to smile more.

This hotel is in a great location, close to Bayfront where we watched July 4th fireworks, and close to Main Street where there are lots of great restaurants and shops. When you drive in here, you have to check your vehicle in the valet for $15 a day, no self park option exists. Check in was pretty long, not sure why, it seems they have to do a lot of work in the computer system. Our room was a king deluxe. Not that big, and not much drawer/storage space. TV wasn't that big either. The HVAC system is super noisy. The gym on the 8th floor is absolutely huge with weights, workout machines, universal gym, treadmills, and much more with complimentary headphones and water. The pool is outside on the 8th floor and really nice too. The bar in the lobby has nice seating and very convenient when you just want to chill. Complimentary water is there during the day, and coffee in the morning. The breakfast area is nice, but the made to order breakfast bowls ($7) are very poor tasting. They have only 4 options, all having quite a bit of carbs. Who wants to eat French fries or sweet potato fries early in the morning?! The feel of this place seems to cater towards the millennials and tries to be very hip. It doesn't work for me. I rather have a good ol' Courtyard or Fairfield Inn that seems much more down to earth without the need for flashy lights. Worth noting is the front desk staff. I never got a good feeling from them, they don't seem that happy in their jobs, and it shows. However, the valet staff was super friendly, especially the young gentleman from Chicago.
