Citius, ALTIS, Fortius

This five stars olympic hotel, that is, that surprises by its greatness and importance, is locate in Belem on the north margin of the river Tagus. The rooms have a beautiful view to the river and have asian names. Our was called Kyoto. The room was large but the atmosphere was a bit cold. The decoration is modern and simple. The bathroom very suitable. The staff is very well educated and helpful. They discovered I was having my birthday and at breakfast they offered me a cake with a lighted candle and two glass of champagne. It was really nice! We also could check out one hour later for free. There is a Spa with an indoor pool. Breakfast is excellent. An extremely good bet for accomodation in Lisbon. Prices have a very good value for money. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

My girlfriend and I stayed here for her birthday weekend. We took advantage of both the spa and restaurant. The entire experience tremendously exceeded our expectations! I made a request to help make her birthday special and the staff helped me book a couples spa treatment and a reservation at the Michelin star restaurant. They accommodated wit ha delicious dinner and a cake with a birthday candle for dessert :) TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Fantastic location and delicious food

Dec 11th, 2019

We stayed in a great family (?) room for five nights, very spatious and nicelooking. Delicious pasteis de nata awaiting us as we arrived. As usual not a very private bathroom, but it was ok. :) It was clean enough and the morning view towards the bridge was breathtaking. Spa has kids' hour in the mornings, but one has to put these tight caps on which I never experienced before in any spa or hotel. Warm and lovely pool. Breakfast was awesome with something for every palate - eggs, sausages, pastries, fruit salads, cereals, fruits, etc. I think the service was excellent, they were all very kind and nice. One waiter made a gluten mistake with our son's food (he has celiacs disease) and was incredibly remorseful for several days (although I think that the kitchen could have been more attentive as well ;)). Very kind. One thing that bothered me basically every night, though, as we were only one floor up (it's not a high building though), was an alarm going off outside sometime during the night. Not sure if it came from the hotel door, or what it was. The location is great in my opinion, since I love being close to water. It is not in the centre but close to several sights of great importance, such as Mosteiro dos Jeronimos. The walk along the water is wonderful, and takes you to Padrao dos Descobrimentos (and further on of course!) just some five-ten minutes away in one direction - and to the magnificent Torre de Belem five minutes away in the other direction. BUT! For those of you in wheelchairs or with a big stroller. Mind you, that there are only two sure ways to get over the big road/railway going between the docks and Mosteiro dos Jeronimos etc, and that is by stairs or car. Either the stairs crossing a high bridge, or the ones under the railway. So this is good to know. There is an ATM inside an icecream/pastry café right before one gets to Torre de Belem (on the other side of a small park). Also good to know as lots of places do not accept card. A staff that goes above and beyond

Dec 8th, 2019

Originally, I had some reservations about staying here because it's a bit outside the city center, but it ended up being perfect for some vacation for me and my wife this December. The food and breakfast were excellent, the staff friendly, and the room was clean and modern, with a wonderful view of the water. The front desk also helpfully secured a reservation at a nearby restaurant the day we got in. I'll tell one particular story that resonated. We left for the airport on a recent Saturday morning to return to the United States, and I had forgotten my very expensive, professional camera in the room (long story). We got to the airport to board our flight back, and as soon as I stepped out of the Uber, I realized the camera was missing. If we tried to go back to the hotel to get it, we'd almost certainly miss our flight. I called the hotel, the staff retrieved it and then said they were willing to ship it back, no problem. About 10 minutes later, I received a call, telling me that they'd send a staff member with the camera to the airport. It was hugely appreciated and went so far beyond what I had expected. It was a good thing: I can't imagine how expensive it would have been to ship back, and I needed the camera for a shoot the next day. We made it to our gate with a few minutes to go before boarding. Good service and cosy rooms, wonderful but not varied breakfast, sleeping comfort, transparent bathroom, modern design of the hotel and rooms, spa and the view from the rooms, French windows, highly-valued hospitality TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
