Beautiful hotel

Jan 26th, 2020

I would have given this hotel a 5 star except for a couple of things on our last night. The rooms are beautiful and the bed comfortable. We easily walked to breweries in Old Town, the Intrust Bank arena for a concert and local restaurants. We parked the truck and didn't need it until we checked out. If you want to visit the speak easy make reservations! It was full to capacity when we tried to go. Since the Dockum was full and we didn't have reservations we ventured back upstairs to the restaurant bar which was set to close at midnight - on a night with a packed hotel after a concert and the speak easy at capacity. Poor planning/management it seemed to us. If you have over 20 people in your bar at $10 a drink it seems like you'd plan to stay open later. The bartender was very vocal about his displeasure about everyone coming in so close to closing (the door was open). It put a damper on our evening a bit. The manager came in and his attitude improved. If I managed the hotel I'd tell my employees to anticipate on staying later on concert or full hotel nights. More tips. Our waitress was wonderful and did a great job and earned great tips to compensate for the late hour. PS the bellinis are great and they don't have Fireball. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Stunning 1926 Bank transformed into a 2012 Hotel on the National Historic Register

Absolutely gorgeous hotel. Inside and out. Beautiful and stylish rooms. My only regret is I had but one night in this charming hotel. I will return! I enjoyed a nice meal in the onsite Siena Tuscan Steakhouse as well as a drink in the Dockum Speakeasy located in the basement. Wonderful staff throughout. Another thing of note. Probably one of the least expensive parking charges, self and valet, of any of the nicer hotels I have stayed at. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Beautiful hotel

Dec 29th, 2019

We were passing through Wichita on our way back from Denver. Stayed at the Ambassador after a long day of traveling on Christmas Eve. Greeted by the hotel staff and check in was a breeze. Room was well decorated and spacious! Absolutely lovely! Loved the bar cart set up for coffee/cocktails. We didn’t make reservations to the restaurant and it would be quite a wait so opted for watching a Christmas movie and room service. Fast delivery and good food. Incredibly happy with our short stay here! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Great downtown location

Dec 22nd, 2019

Staff is very friendly and rooms are well appointed. It is an old hotel that has had a good makeover to modernize it. My only complaint was that it took about 15 minutes for the water to get hot in our room since we were on the 14th floor. Also our room was cold and I had to ask for an extra comforter which they gladly provide. Water and a coffee maker is provide in the room. Bathrooms were very nice. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Unique/Clean

Very professional and well trained staff. The corner rooms are my favorite, and the food is outstanding. Germaine is the food and beverage manager, and he is a gentleman that will go above and beyond to satisfy the quests. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
