A Nice Surprise

May 5th, 2019

I was in Marion for an evening concert at the Palace Theater. Booked this hotel for Friday night till Saturday at noon. Older hotel but I was impressed. The front desk people were extremely kind and helpful. I was given a non-smoking room with a Queen bed near the office. The room and bathroom were very clean and the bed was extremely comfortable. There was a fridge , microwave, hair dryer and coffee maker, and all worked. Plenty of hot water and towels and individual controls for the room temperature. Saturday morning I grabbed some coffee, orange juice and pastries. I will definitely stay here again when I am in Marion for a concert. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Excellent Service

I flew in from Seattle and the manager was amazing! He gave me an early check in and set me up in one of his beautifully remolded rooms on the ground floor! I was unfamiliar with the area so anytime I needed information he provided it and it was reliable! I WILL be back for sure!! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Older hotel

Check in was very friendly. Rooms are older, but you get what you pay for. Great for a one night stay. You can park directly at your door at some rooms. Restaurant directly next door. No complimentary breakfast at hotel. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Decent Budget Motel

Jul 27th, 2016

We had changed plans at the last minute, canceled our existing reservations and pulled off the road in Marion on a summer weekend night. The mid-priced hotels around the freeway exit were very busy, with kids in team jerseys piling out of minivans and crowding the lobbies. Figuring these hotels were booked, and that the whirlpool would be packed with people anyway we decided to forgo the extra amenities and headed across the street to America’s Best Value Inn. They had rooms available at a no-discount rate which would have seemed quite high were it not for the obviously high demand in town. Check in was efficient, and we could park across from the door to our first-floor room. I’m not sure why the parking spaces are on that side of the lot, as most motels put them next to the room doors, which comes in handy in bad weather. The air conditioner was turned off when we entered the room on this very hot day, and it took a while to catch up. We unloaded and went down the street to pick up breakfast items, as the continental breakfast appeared to consist only of coffee, juice, and donuts. Frozen breakfast sandwiches and a bowl of fresh-cut fruit from Kroger filled the bill, as the room had a refrigerator and microwave. As an added bonus, the room was not as oppressively hot when we returned from the shopping trip. Furnishings were in decent shape for an economy property, although the desk chair was broken. Lighting was spotty; there was a good light fixture for the nightstand, and dim fixates on the desk and in the floor lamp. The small bathroom had not been remodeled since the 1960s, but everything worked fine other than the bathroom door, which had dozens of coats of paint on it and was now too big to close all the way. Water pressure and towels were good. I was not disturbed by noise during the night, but it could be an issue depending on who your neighbors are, as the walls are pretty thin. We got juice from the lobby to supplement our breakfast fare, and headed back on the road. I would stay again, after verifying the rate is in line with what the market offers. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
