Horrible customer care

On Dec 7, 2019, I booked a 2-week Switzerland trip for September 2020. Then COVID happened. Now that it is July and the US has cases going up and citizens are still banned from most countries, I started the process of changing my trip. Every hotel during my two week trip allowed me to either cancel and/or change the dates of my non-refundable booking EXCEPT FOR THIS HOTEL. It is the only one that wouldn’t even give me the option to change my dates. Even though I can’t even GET INTO THE COUNTRY. This means I have paid almost $500 for a 2-night hotel stay that I can’t even physically get to. What kind of place operates like this?!! At a later date I’m still taking my Switzerland trip, but when I can actually get into the country. Ameron would have still earned my money. But no...they’re just going to take my money without me even staying on the property. Okay, super ethical Ameron. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Doesn't care about its customers

I booked a month long trip to Switzerland and Austria for this summer in early January. Literally a few days after booking I found out my fiancée was pregnant and was due shortly after the end of the planned trip so had to cancel it. Despite booking non refundable rooms, every hotel except for this one and one other kindly refunded me or allowed me to change the date. As a result, rather than lose the money, I decided to keep the reservation and shorten the trip. Fast forward a few months and we have the Covid-19 crisis. I reached out to this hotel notifying them that Switzerland is not allowing travelers from the US into their country and the US wasn’t allowing travel to Europe. It is impossible for me to travel. All I was asking was for the to honor the reservation and the $200 I spent and allow me to change the date to a time when travel was actually allowed. They refused, stating I knew the risk”. How incredibly cold. They made me feel like Covid was my fault and that I chose not to travel which is obviously ridiculous. Zero compassion, all they care about is money of which I wasn’t even asking for. I would avoid this hotel all costs. Any hotel that doesn’t have an ounce of human empathy doesn’t deserve any business. Totally unbelievable. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Quick stay in the city

Stayed here during our honeymoon last year. The rooms are normal-small but enough space for 2 people. The location is what sells this hotel! Very close to the main historic area and chapel bridge, but tucked away from the crowds. There was construction the whole time we were there so sleeping was rough, but the gentleman who checked us out offered to cover the city taxes to compensate for the disturbance. He also offered us some lattes to start our day. It was definitely something as clearly it was not their fault. The hotel is just a short walk to the main train station and there are plenty of restaurants close by. If you’re a Starbucks fanatic like my husband, there’s one just a couple blocks away:) TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Perfect location

The hotel has a perfect location, with just 5 minutes walk from the Railway Station and close to the bridge. A medical facility is just around the corner (I happen to use it, with one of the kid getting sick), a toy store and perfume shop right opposite the hotel. Every place is pretty accessible with a nearby bus stop and obviously the charm of the old town. The reception staff, I am forgetting their names, though helpful but never had a smile on their face. They use to talk as an obligation and not as a courtesy, except for 1 female receptionist, who was always smiling and ready to help the guests. I wish I could remember her name and tell the hotel that she is an asset. One incident which I categorically remember in the hotel was that we were a group of 9 people with 2 kids and I needed some plates, so I called the reception and they asked me to go to the restaurant and pick from there, anyhow I did that and after using the plates, I called them again and asked the reception for picking up the plates else it will make the room smelly, so they said that if you want to get it picked right now we will charge you 10 Euros, you cannot keep the plate outside your room, due to fire safety norms, therefore either just keep it inside or pay. Well I expected them to be a little more courteous. However the hotel is good for a couple of nights. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Everything was EXCELLENT.

The hotel is near Luzern HB. Approx 5 mins walk. It is also near the wooden bridge & old town. Due to this unforseen circumstances, we were caught up with Covid-19. We were trying to get an earlier flight home, and asked if we could adjust our hotel stay and be flexible about it. They hold our reservation and allow us to leave anytime or as soon as we find a flight out. That did not happen so we stayed throughout our booking. They were so so understanding. We were trying to call BA and they allowed us to use the room phone. (Special thanks: Andre) No words can explain how I appreciate their kindness and understanding. They provided us with the free city transport and wifi when we checked in. Opposite us is toystore. My son was so happy. But that was just before they had to close everything except groceries/pharmacies/bakeries. You can find coop at the train stn. The trams/buses are just at the front. 2 min walk. Super easy. Thank you everyone at Ameron for being so kind towards us thru this trying times. May God bless all of you. :) I highly highly highly recommend this hotel. Well done to the staff!
