Lack luster

Jun 23rd, 2020

I’m a Platinum Elite Marriott member and I’ve stayed in several locations. To say this Marriott was disappointing is an understatement. I’m glad I used points instead of cash! The room was dated, the wash clothes had stray hair on 2 of them, there was hair in the bathroom floor & shower, the walls were so thin that we heard the neighbors alarm, the concierge lounge was closed due to covid (not their fault) and they offered nothing in its place (most have offered a complimentary breakfast in the restaurant), and the ceiling & base boards were super dusty. If this was cleaned more for covid, I’d hate to see it in its normal stare. Only perks were the view & walking distance to restaurants. Definitely a one and done...skip it & try another hotel. A very basic Marriott

Mar 6th, 2020

We generally stay in Marriott hotels worldwide, and in comparison, the rooms here are much more basic. But Anchorage is sort of a no-frills place in many ways. The staff is efficient though, and the rooms are clean. The concierge was extremely helpful. The charge for parking was quite high. We used street parking and walked since parking was readily available in the wintertime. This hotel is within walking distance of restaurants and shopping and convenient to the airport. The views from the upper floors of the city and Cook Inlet were very pretty. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

RTI conference

Jan 28th, 2020

Attended the conference for school district. Charged a large incidental charge upon arrival and because the parking was not free,I used the valet service. The hotel lodging is exquisite and lovely; however, it is the amenities, such as parking, that keep me from offering a stellar review. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Great First Trip to Alaska

Jan 8th, 2020

This was our first trip to the state of Alaska and we can't wait to go back. We were going to attend the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) Western Conference and decided to go a week early to see some of the sights. The Marriott was very accommodating and gave us the conference rates for the entire stay. We tried to book a train trip and other adventures to no avail. Everything was closed for the season even though the weather was very mild. We rented a 4 wheel drive SUV and traveled each day in different directions from the home base hotel in Anchorage. Caution on parking as it costs about $20.00 a day. A must see is the wildlife park about an hour south of Anchorage. Worth the drive. We saw wild Moose, Bear, Bald Eagles, Whales and many other animals. Planning on our next trip to Alaska in the summer of 2020. We will take that train trip and do some fishing as well as travel up to Denali State Park. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Delayed in Anchorage

Oct 22nd, 2019

The evening Marriott front desk staff of Mallory and Annie made our last minute reservations for our crew. We walked in and was greeted with a high level of professionalism and a friendly smile. They promptly took care of all 8 of our requests and changes to our reservations. They advised us on some popular places to grab a late night meal and all their suggestions we spot on. Very convenient location and Great staff. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
