Happy ending

Mar 30th, 2020

I want to update my story about the spring break trip that did not happen due to Coronavirus. We take trips all over the world with our two children and this was to be our first trip in a long time as a couple. Our sons, one in college and the other a senior in high school, had plans that did not include their parents. We foreshadowed the empty nest syndrome. It was an exciting time until Coronavirus hit and we couldn’t go. Anse Chastanet heard our plight and graciously offered to rebook us without penalty for up to 18 months. We look forward to frolicking and diving together once the global pandemic is over, and we look forward to seeing the resort. We could not be happier. The resort is being flexible and working with us. I hope everyone stays safe and we get back to a reasonable normal. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Gorgeous stay in Superior room 5B - Flamboyant - great view of Pitons & beach

Mar 17th, 2020

We stayed March 5th -12th in an all inclusive Superior Room through Westjet Vacations. The louvered windows have screens. All Inclusive - It's not truly all inclusive. There is a surcharge for prime beef and high end cocktails. Don't worry. You will be fine without these items. There is also a fridge in your room stocked when you arrive. You have to pay a $5 charge to restock the fridge. We would order a drink on the beach and bring up to our room. Unless you have a drinking problem, you will be fine. Breakfasts - fantastic. Lunches - on the beach service incredible. We ate green lettuce salads, burgers, paninis and soft fruits with no tummy issues Dinners - our favourite restaurant was the Beach Grill, followed by Treetop. Tuesday night they do a 'managers cocktail party' with buffet dinner. Bad idea right now with Corona Virus and the food was not great. If you want to eat a night out off resort, choose Tuesday. Book in advance for Jade Mountain. Entertainment - do not miss the Monday night Country Music - the best band by far Activities - yoga - a disappointment - way too slow - geared to beginners Excursions - If you are a hiker - book Gros Piton. 4 hours and we had a fantastic guide name McGavin. If you hike anywhere in the NE USA or Snowdonia/Ben Nevis UK, this terrain will be easy for you. No scrambling. Hand rails in place. Jungle hike on resort with Meno 'Meno... aka Mother nature' Very enthusiastic Staff - LOVE concierge Gifta - she makes everything right. On the Beach - Junior will give you some love. - Waitresses Chalista, Esther, Michelina there are too many to name. When can we return??? TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

GOOD BUT NOT EXCELLENT

Mar 11th, 2020

Stayed 5 nights in January/February. Lovely room up at the top, with fabulous views and very spacious, though blinds not good at keeping out the light. Main restaurant rather impersonal, the smaller one below much nicer. Food good, especially breakfasts, but dinner service far too rushed and rather sloppy. Beach bar and beach service good, though the so-called manager's drinks party and BarBQ was a dreadful bun fight with many guests just rushing to grab multiple platefuls. Lots of steps and steep slopes, which we were warned about, but the buggy service was well organised, as were excursions. Beaches are all public so the main beach suffered rather from day trip boats coming in, despite the best efforts of the hotel to keep them to one end. Far beach much more peaceful and a nice walk round. Generally seemed to be a lack of management oversight which reflected in standards. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Just What we Needed...

Mar 8th, 2020

Not for everyone, but perfect for those who don't mind walking a bit and want to have activity options just steps away. Beautiful, hidden, with great food and beverages. Not for the party crowd, as this is a peaceful place perfect for relaxing and enjoying the warm clear water. Not recommended for those with accessibility challenges, but they will work with you if needed. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

"Out of this world hotel and staff

Mar 7th, 2020

This review is long overdue as we stayed here in October.I had always wanted to stay at this amazing hotel and it was more magical than we ever could have imagined. It is more like a little village nestled into the hillside with interesting views from every room. We had room 12a which had an open lounge area overlooking the sea and rain forest, with a shut off bedroom and separate bathroom. We loved it. We loved the snorkeling, kayaks, jungle biking and Gros Piton climb. The jazzy cruise was very well run with lovely nibbles and drinks. This resort has so much to offer and we found the staff to be always helpful and smiling. The food and evening entertainment is great too, cant wait to go back. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
