This hotel boasts award-winning dining, two golf courses, five pools and a lavish spa
Recent guests said it is pricey to stay here
Perhaps the most historical hotel in Phoenix, the Arizona Biltmore, A Waldorf Astoria Resort has been welcoming Valley of the Sun visitors (including such notable names as Irving Berlin and Marilyn Monroe) since 1929. And though competing resorts keep springing up around it, this landmark property continues to shine. Rising above the Camelback Corridor, this Waldorf Astoria property keeps guests busy with two exceptional golf courses, an award-winning spa, seven tennis courts and eight swimming pools. On the inside, the Biltmore maintains its Gilded Age feel, with the lobby encompassing hardwood floors and low lighting and guest rooms sporting cozy furnishings and contemporary design elements. In addition to the beautiful grounds, the food served at the hotel's four eateries receives a thumbs-up from previous visitors, who especially love the contemporary American cuisine dished up at Frank & Albert's. All of these lavish amenities and accommodations, though, come at a high price point; however, Hilton Honors members may be able to earn and redeem benefits by choosing to stay here.

Critic Reviews

For more than 80 years, this resort has been the favored Phoenix address of celebrities, politicians, and old money.

A luxury resort built in 1929, the Arizona Biltmore has hosted presidents, celebrities, and socialites, from Marilyn Monroe to the Kennedys. The resort is a sprawling property studded with tall palm trees, and Camelback Mountain provides a stunning natural backdrop.

Travel + Leisure

The 1929 resort is an art deco landmark that elegantly combines geometric forms and Southwest touches, a credit to its architect, a student of Frank Lloyd Wright. Lounge by one of the resort’s eight pools, hit the links at the two adjacent PGA golf courses, or enjoy yoga and a massage at the spa.
