Nice location, well appointed room, comfortable bed

Jul 6th, 2020

We stayed here and really enjoyed this location with parking included. We had two rooms and our rooms had Nespresso machines which was a bonus with a small fridge. The walls are a little thin, but it was a holiday weekend. We will return. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Beautiful hotel following COVID 19 rules

Jul 3rd, 2020

My family stayed one night at this wonderful hotel. The staff were all following the new rules we must live by now. The rooms had the seals on the doors, there was hand sanitizer outside of each elevator as well as inside each elevator. All of the staff were wearing masks. I felt very comfortable there. Not as impressive as name

Jun 23rd, 2020

My husband and I took a weekend getaway and chose this hotel for a number of reasons. The price was right, it was nicely located downtown in Sarasota, had a rooftop pool and bar, just to name a few. Once we got there, we were "upgraded" to a city view room. We ended up staring at a parking garage. Guess its part of the city but the other side of the hotel had the bay view so not sure how that was an upgrade. We tried to make reservations at the hotel restaurant. We called, message came on to leave message and they would return call. No one called. So we ended up ordering out. Breakfast was not good. "Chef" couldnt make an overmedium egg and he was actually given a couple of different chances to do so. Good thing is, our breakfast ended up being comped. We spent the day at the pool and poolbar and fell in love with our bartender who informed us that it was her last day of work as she was moving to Hawaii.....seriously!!???? figures lol.....tried to make reservations at restaurant again for dinner but no one called us back again......after showering and getting dressed for dinner, we stopped at the front desk to ask how we go about making a reservation in the restaurant. "oh the restaurant is only open for breakfast" was the response.....omg.....why did no one say that upon checkin? After we got back from dining out, we asked if roomservice could bring coffee to the room. "Coffee is only served for breakfast"....what the hell.......asinine response but they were adamant that if we wanted coffee we would have to use the dorky nespresso machine in the can you charge a resort fee of $30 a day not even offer all day coffee????? Needless to say, we will not be going back to this particular hotel. Had things been handled better, this would have been a once a month little getaway for me and my husband but now we will look elsewhere. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

First night Great, a Second night of Horror

May 23rd, 2020

When I went to check out two days early I stopped in the lobby to see three armed officers who were lounging. I said we could have used you on the sixth floor last evening with one replying he was on the sixth floor and called the front desk twice. I replied we had called the front desk twice that very evening. The first night was the first night open after they opened from the pandemic with only twenty one guests. The second night there were sixty of us scheduled to be there. The sixth floor from 10:30pm to 3:30am sounded like a staged boxing ring with crowd included. No sleep was to be had. We checked out two days early on a holiday weekend to return home where quite is now better appreciated. The night management did come up twice but it did no good. The walls are thin with folks literally screaming and dogs barking seemed at times like the noice was done on purpose like some type of torture. We would have left in the night if we weren’t exhausted. The manager said three strike rule applies before the police are called, so with our two calls and the officer’s two calls, sounds like four strikes? Four hundred bucks for one night of sleep seems steep for a Silver Member when no destination charged items were available. We will come back when the Ringling is open later in the month but try the Westin this time for even less$. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

This bar is trash. Ordered drinks, they came in dirty glasses. When my girlfriend indicated that her glass was not cleaned and clearly had a lipstick stain on the lip of the glass the bartender took her drink and just poured it in another glass. Absolute lack of class and lack of any customer service whatsoever. Want a better bar service? Go across the street to the Westin rooftop bar. We’re from Montreal, a city known for bars and restaurants and to be honest, art ovation is disgusting. Whoever manages the trash can of a bar on the roof should be swiftly fired and replaced. Word from the wise, get it together or lose clients. Figure it out. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
