I’d give this place another chance

Feb 9th, 2020

First of all, this place has great potential. It’s conveniently located to everything in Morro Bay as well as Hwy 1. We had an amazing view of Morro Rock from our room. The hotel staff was outstanding and their text message communication was efficient and appreciated. I would stay here again. The negatives this stay were: Our room. Stayed in 203 and I think the hotel might be in the process of renovation and simply didn’t get to our room yet. Carpet was dirty and had several visible stains. Tub/shower had no water pressure whatsoever. Would’ve taken over an hour to fill the tub (I tried) and only a trickle came out of the shower head. Considering the friendliness of the staff and the location of this hotel, I’d give them another chance in the future. Breakfast: Bagels, waffle maker, eggs, sausage, yogurt, etc. They brew a nice cup of coffee from a local roaster. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Stay away! The room was filthy from The carpet to the bedspread, which I immediately through on the floor. The decor is outdated and warn, and the bed was sagging on the sides with a jump down the middle. I have no idea how anyone can rate this place so highly. Yuck. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

The prior guests left a plastic bag around the fire alarm, so they could smoke in the room. My toddlers weren't fans...

The room was dated and dirty. The fireplace didn't work, the bed sounded like it was ready to break. The fire alarm in the room was covered with a plastic bag from the last guests and the room smelled like smoke. When we told the front desk, he came up to the room and my husband had to take it down bc my husband was taller and the guy couldn't reach. It wasn't enjoyable. It made my family really sad, we came last year on our way to Disneyland. Last year we picked Morro Bay as a half way point between our house and Anaheim, we thought that this could be our new family tradition every January but I think we will skip Morro Bay next! Okay at best.

Honestly, I was disappointed. Lobby had an odor so this was my first impression. Room was large but dusty in all corners. We slept fine and lodging was enough but nothing more. Fireplace was nice touch but doesn’t heat. Furniture is old. Location was great, close to Morro Rock which was our main reason for visit and free parking. I’d try elsewhere next time. Sad to Find Out .....

Nov 29th, 2019

We went to check in about 2:35p.m.. Another couple was waiting to check in and were told they couldn't until 3p. The customer was standing at the desk when I arrived. He told me there was no one there. Less than a minute later a man came out and said no check in until 3p.m. The man told him they paid for early check in. The employee mumbled something as he went through another door and disappeared. I went back to the car to tell my husband what transpired. We went in after 3p.m. and told the girl we had a reservation. She informed me that we were in a room that hadn't been renovated yet. I told her we booked the room a year ago. She said because we booked through Expedia we didn't get a renovated room. How shocking to discover that we were treated so poorly and even informed of that. We were here about 4 years ago and it had just been purchased. Wonderful service then. We even got an upgraded room because it was our anniversary. The room was nice and very pleasant, but being told what we were kind of spoiled the stay. I find it hard to believe that hotel can't be renovated in four years. It's not that big.Very disappointed. Also,we were here for 2 nights and on the second day when they cleaned the room they only gave us 2 towels and no wash cloths. All in all, it seemed like a budget motel. Not what we expected at all.
