Billed 1000$ for a broken door

Nov 18th, 2019

My son stayed there with a few friends for a convention. The door to the bathroom was stuck when one of them was inside. When they tried to open it it broke. The door was not working properly before it got stuck. When they complained about that they were told that they are being rude so they will charge them for the door(1000$)and for the night even though they can’t stay there. They are not answering my calls and if you look carefully at other reviews they do not answer to complaints. Shameless. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Excellent for conferences

Nov 17th, 2019

Valet and bellmen are wonderful. Front desk, housekeeping, in-room service, and concierge desk personnel were very responsive. The room was lovely and the bed was sooo comfortable. The carpet is dated, yet the overall experience is amazingly amenable! Thank you. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Ok for a nicer hotel

Nov 17th, 2019

This is a very nice hotel but it is starting to show some age. 47 floors of rooms with glass elevators, and worth a few pictures due to the architecture. As mentioned in several previous posts, there is no place to put your luggage in the basic room except the floor. I had a table and 2 mismatched chairs, but I needed to work on the table. There is also no place to hang a hand towel in the bathroom, which is strange considering you probably have less than 2 feet of counter space in the bathroom. There is very little counter space in the room for anything. I would think a luggage rack and towel rack are very small costs to rectify the inconveniences. Also of note, if you are staying multiple days, housekeeping will not get to your room until late afternoon. Both days my room was cleaned after 3pm. Interesting that my gps took me to the rear of the hotel upon arrival. The front of the hotel is very chaotic. Parking is crazy expensive, $45/day. I did not experience any delays or other issues with the valet, it was all very timely and professional. Room service is reasonable and the food was very good. Although the hotel is located within walking distance of several attractions, one should take caution and know there may be some sketchy people along the walk. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Great hotel venue for a conference

Nov 16th, 2019

Stayed here 5 nights for a conference and enjoyed both the room accommodations and conference facilities. Room was spacious and I highly recommend the Staywell rooms when traveling. There is an air purifier, aroma diffuser and special lighting all geared to make travel less stressful on your body. The hotel itself is massive but never had to wait for elevators or service. My only complaint is the hotel would not honor the conference rate as offered. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Conditionally Recommended

Nov 15th, 2019

Stayed for five nights for a medical conference. Was given a standard room on the 26th floor. This is a big hotel and the entrance / lobby was indeed something to behold. It has a unique atrium with a circular architecture all the way up to the top. Some people actually get dizzy while trying to look up or when looking down when using the elevators. I was impressed. There were several elevators and they were all fast. The check in was smooth. $250 was taken as a security deposit against incidental expenses on my credit card. The room was big and I had a view of Emory University and its hospital from my window. There is a lot of greenery in Atlanta and the fall colours were beautiful even from this height. It was a modern room with all the amenities and e WiFi was good. The only drawback was that the room furnishing did not provide for any cabinets! How strange. I missed this since a lot of small items like socks undergarments etc need to be stored out of view. The room safe was good. Downstairs , the concierge service was excellent as was the buffet breakfast each morning. We were very well served and the whole staff was courteous and friendly throughout our stay. This hotel is located in the downtown area and we could walk to the Georgia World Congress Centre in 15-20 minutes. Though all the downtown attractions were within walkable distance, there were several other places we wanted to go to in Atlanta and these needed other forms of transportation. All in all, a very comfortable experience and I would like to repeat the experience with the proviso that cabinets/ drawers be provided in the rooms also. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
