Saturday Nov 21st Stay
Nov 23rd, 2020
We stayed Saturday the 21st so we could finally visit Trader Vic's after it's lengthy closure. The hotel was beautiful as always - the Atrium is probably the most beautiful interior of any hotel I have stayed in. We stayed in a Stay Well room which we really enjoyed. The room was clean and well appointed. The only two downs we had were the menu at High Velocity has gotten leaner and leaner over the years. Gone are the worlds best cheese sticks, and the buffalo sliders. The second down was the outside area of the hotel - when you walk up you are greeted with the smell of some skunk weed and people loitering around. We also got to experience two groups of 15 to 20 people flying down Courtland on dirt bikes and 4-wheelers. There was not a policeman in site. This coupled with the amount of homeless made us feel unsafe for the first time in 19 years. Marriott - reach out to the mayor - its bad enough the convention business is gone, if you lose the weekend travelers you'll really be in trouble. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
When in Atlanta
Nov 21st, 2020
I stayed at the Marriott Marquis in downtown Atlanta. The tv did not work three out of the four nights I stayed. There was nobody to help me figure out how the computers work in the FedEx room. The lady I talked to first was kind of rude. But, I will say however, an employee by the name of Alexandria was VERY polite and helpful! Get Alexandria a raise! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
Rude office staff
Nov 13th, 2020
Place was nice and clean but could not find 1 soda machine that worked.I went to 4 floors,2 machines a floor and not 1 had sodas in it. Asked woman at front desk about the machines and a lady working in office and came out and asked why I didnt drink the water in the room.(no bottles of water in room) Front desk woman said I think he wants something cold. And the other woman says, well its room temperature. I just looked at her.Luckily security walked up and opened the gift shop and gave me a few sodas for free. But who ever was working in the office has terrible costumer service skills.Nice hotel other than that. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
The sad story of huge hotels
Nov 10th, 2020
This is a huge conference hotel (over 1500 rooms) with an amazing atrium and almost empty and no service, no benefits. It is a sad story for this type of hotels. The atrium is incredible and the suite upgrade was pretty nice. The price was decent. Parking is crazily expensive. However, at this point, you only get a bed to sleep in. The service is very limited and it looks like the hotel is not very maintained. The only things open are the Starbucks shop and the m:store. It epitomizes the tragic state of business/conference hotels. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

It was a very nice Saturday in Atlanta. Valet parking was very organized. The Marriott Marquis was probably a very vibrant hotel prior to Covid. And in the midst of Covid they have not skipped a beat. The front desk was busy checking in guests as the hotel workers paced about the lobby making sure that all areas were clean and sanitized. The architecture was eye-catching. The staff was very friendly. Lounge areas were set up for those traveling together to gather together while maintaining social distancing from others. Room was very clean. Beds were not properly made to 4-star standard. Overall, I enjoyed my stay, TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
